It isn't. Most people stuck to the legacy boards no matter what, alts didn't take off except for gamergate related ones. The only advantage is that staff of various boards generally disliked each other, you didn't have a troonarchy like on 4chan where all the staff will collaborate in taking down people they don't like and cover for each other's wrongdoings. Remember that the last staff leak from 4chan was around the time moot introduced the real ID requirement.
