A cartoon lime looks much like a green apple, but is smaller, similar to a very unripe apple. Yet the lime is ready to be harvested…
You might want to look into Jumbo Games and their Wasgij puzzles. The gimmick of those puzzles is that the real puzzle is not shown on the box cover. This means that Jumbo Games can get away with the sort of symbolism that would be too much if just anyone could spot it in a store without having to spend hours completing the cartoon jigsaw puzzle first.
Notably, the Wasgij Destiny Puzzle number 26 "Organic Overload" has multiple instances of very suspicious symbolism hidden in plain sight in a picture of an organic market. The hot coffee/prostitution connection is probably the most obvious one. The most troubling one is the lime and the hints of a baby being purchased.
It's not that easily visible in the photograph of the completed puzzle, but the tie of the man in suspenders in the lower right corner has a picture that shows "anthropomorphic banana heart anthropomorphic lime". The green fruit on the tie must be a lime rather than an apple, as the fruit is so small - child-sized - compared to the banana. The man is eyeing a purple-haired woman's baby. At a nearby fruit box what appears to be an actual green apple with arms and legs is helping a similarly humanoid lemon escape. The labels on produce to be sold also have descriptions that don't make sense for plant food, such as "hand-reared turnips" and "free range hummus". ("Hummus" sounds like it was chosen for its similarity to "humans".)
