One thing I don't understand is how these people can be so leftist and yet make a show that's so implicitly right-wing. Is it just that they don't examine their work close enough to understand how antithetical it is to their own views?

Take gun control for example. How can someone anti-gun in good conscience write a show where a third of the cast has a deadly projectile weapon grafted onto their heads? There are many other examples that I'm sure the rest of us here are aware of. I guess they just don't think about it.
