Not even that. Its like a group of religious fundamentalists trying to be the most pious and best at conforming to religious dogma in the group for that "holier than thou" street cred.

Only they use progressive and identity politics instead of religious dogma.

This also explains why they never try to enter dialogue with their political opponents, but try to ostracise and demonise them instead. You don't socialise or talk to heretics trying to subvert your religion after all.
