Not a lawfag, anon. Can speak more to the psychological and historical dimensions of the situation than to the legal. But that may be more applicable in this case.
In all cultures, there exist times of order and times of chaos. Often the latter are brought about because of political manipulations like the ones discussed on this board. Power mongers use times of chaos to seize and consolidate power in a way that is not possible when the rule of law prevails.
It seems to me that what you're asking is, "How can this happen here? How can everything our country stands for be thrown out the window? Why doesn't our Constitution prevent this from happening?"
I would say it's because the culture is very unstable now. There is no getting around that. Things have been too manipulated for too long to win people over with appeals to reason, American traditions, or even the rule of law (as you no doubt can see).
So POTUS is allowing certain things to happen in order to wake people up, showing them what will happen if they do not wake up. Showing them the value of the rule of law (helping them to remember why American values are so precious).
I believe this process is necessary and valuable, but understand that it is also troubling to many people such as yourself. I have studied quite a bit about communism and also lived during communist times, remember drills where we crawled under a desk at school in case of a nuclear attack from the USSR.
The education of the young is quite corrupt at the moment, which is why they are so radicalized. But I believe this can and will change, patriot anon. That is why we fight, we we are here: to educate people about the evils of communism and other totalitarian systems. This corruption of education has been going on for not just decades, but almost 2 centuries. So it will take time to redress. In the meantime, it's painful to watch our youth mouth slogans that sound like they came from Mao or Castro.
Try not to be discouraged, despite all you see and hear. We all have dark moments when it seems impossible that things can be set aright once more. But truth always prevails in the end, and we have in this work the opportunity to help that happen in this country and in the world.
We here are all grateful for your service, military anon. It is people like you who have helped stem the tide of communism in the past--and who will be needed to rebuild our country in the future. WWG1WGA.
well, it's nice and slow right now. so it isn't like having to have a whole bunch of bakers at the ready. At the moment, don't even have to worry about Q posting. Re notables on QR
Yes, notable lists have grown very long indeed on QR. I guess everyone gets a participation trophy now, ha-ha.
Anon, everyone is a little shell-shocked right now. I was in bad shape when I got here, too. Yes, QR is breaking down. Their notable thread is in bad shape. (It was not a good sign when the very first page contained a jpeg graphic that became forever invisible. They didn't think it out much, did they?)
Welcome, have a covfefe and relax, friend. This is a much more relaxed place. And relaxed pace (at least for now).
It tore at me for 3 days, while i tried to keep the "real" pastebins going, didn't want to leave wo/Q saying "leave." but prayed about it to get a clear sign and saw a really nasty post that finally made me go. it's not division-fagging when you separate the anons from the shills.
The main problem with posting notables in QR is that wherever you post 'em, BO can find and delete 'em. Also, it means spending a lot of time in QR, which has become very tough. I was doing it non-stop, very taxing on all levels. Any way to set up a thread here or in /comms/ that doesn't require board translation? (Or a macro-like process that can do easy translations back and forth?)
Question for baker & anons:
someone deleted the jpeg stuff from global notables a little bit ago. But the problem persists (there are about 30 jpegs posted in this bred so far (at about @515), about 7 of which might be notable. (Bewbs etc prolly can be jpegs). So that means there are still gonna be up to half a dozen jpeg images in a typical notables bun. Sometimes it matters moar than other times--like when the image is all that's there. Tweets can be a problem, would be helpful if anons always typed the text in (saves bakers time, even if image is png).
If we did put a jpeg notice, is it helpful to anons to list conversion programs or not so much? I've got those files, was OP. But never really knew if they helped. Any thoughts?

Noticed PDQ when bakering, because bv deleted half the notables on a graveyard shift and then didn't admit what happened. only a few days after old BO left. One reason BO wanted bakers gone is that they watch the board, watch the dough--and watch BO/BVs. Ask other bakers and oldfags--they knew.
this always comes up, but ya can't rename it when initially saving it in many situations--jpeg is the only option. got to use some program post-hoc. biggest problem is for phone fags, espec Apple? For me, only time it comes up when saving from net--the images are all jpegs, no other options for save. must convert if image is to last for moar than one bred (for me, in snagit).

When i researched it, seemed like the problem might be with 4 letter file extensions. but I think there's also a problems with gifs. We don't see if very often bc there aren't many gifs.

This is regarding a posted jpeg conversion script.
Problem with those threads is quality control. There is none. Much as there can be a problem with some bakers generating very "spare" notable buns, proficient bakers serve as a check on really bad posts getting into notables. Two days ago, someone posted a notable list with almost every post lacking sauce, whether on purpose or by accident. Now it looked normal if you just looked at the list, you had to hover or click on it to realize it was sauceless. There was also some old article. Only two notes were fully legit.
you can't always save as png, the option isn't there. but using quotes around the jpeg may work, anon suggested it and it worked in DDG/Google.
Ok, I see that Notepad++ does have search and replace (control h, just like word). But it's tedious to do for each bred. If this board were 9-5, definitely do-able. But to do both boards 24/7--with the quality control problem on QR--IDK. I think FJ definitely wants the board to fail--and wants us to fail. He has the technical means to wipe out posts, threads, etc. Have tried to fight him b4--begged, pleaded, reasoned, and he still wiped my thread out wo warning. And he seems to wipe out plenty moar now. Don't mean to be discouraging, just watched for 3 days all day and most of the night things getting moar and moar chaotic. One anon called it shameful what he is doing.

San Francisco (AFP) - Amazon workers walked out of a main distribution center in Minnesota on Monday, protesting for improved working conditions during the e-commerce titan's major "Prime" shopping event.
Amazon workers picketed outside the facility, briefly delaying a few trucks and waving signs with messages along the lines of "We're human, not robots."
"We know Prime Day is a big day for Amazon, so we hope this strike will help executives understand how serious we are about wanting real change that will uplift the workers in Amazon's warehouses," striker Safiyo Mohamed said in a release.
"We create a lot of wealth for Amazon, but they aren't treating us with the respect and dignity that we deserve."
Organizers did not disclose the number of strikers, who said employees picketed for about an hour in intense heat before cutting the protest short due to the onset of heavy rain.
The strike was part of an ongoing effort to pressure the company on issues including job safety, equal opportunity in the workplace, and concrete action on issues including climate change, according to community organization Awood Center.
US Democratic presidential contenders Kamila Harris and Bernie Sanders were among those who expressed support for the strikers on Twitter.
"I stand in solidarity with the courageous Amazon workers engaging in a work stoppage against unconscionable working conditions in their warehouses," Sanders said in a tweet.
"It is not too much to ask that a company owned by the wealthiest person in the world treat its workers with dignity and respect."
Amazon employees also went on strike at seven locations in Germany, demanding better wages as the US online retail giant launched its two-day global shopping discount extravaganza called Prime Day.
Amazon had said in advance that the strike would not affect deliveries to customers.
Amazon has consistently defended work conditions, contending it is a leader when it comes to paying workers at least $15 hourly and providing benefits.
