A slime mold is individual cells in one phase; but if stress enters the environment the individuals lob together and form one multicellular being.
Stress in their instance being lack of water. or food.
So for me, When stress enters an erstwhile stable society ,the individuals join "the movement" the greater whole, and give up their individuality? That's why they call it MASS movement.?
