a couple of weeks ago we were discussing that the number 71, and 17 keep coming up in news stories.
This story caught my eye
Husband and wife die on the same day just 12 hours apart after 71 years of marriage
Herbert DeLaigle, 94, and Marilyn Frances DeLaigle, 88, first met in 1947
They met in a cafe in Waynesboro, Georgia where Frances worked after the war
The couple had six children, 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren
A husband and wife from Georgia who were together for 71 years died just 12 hours apart on the same day.
Herbert DeLaigle, 94, and Marilyn Frances DeLaigle, 88, were married in 1948 and died on Friday at a hospital in Waynesboro.
According to WRDW Herbert died at 2.20am, and Marilyn Frances died exactly 12 hours later.
The couple met in a Waynesboro cafe back in 1947 where Marilyn was working.
Frances worked at a little cafe we had in Waynesboro named White Way Cafe,' Herbert DeLaigle said in a 2018 interview with WRDW.
'I kept seeing her going in and out, in and out and I had my eyes set on her.
'And then I finally got up the nerve to ask her if she would go out with me sometime.'
Herbert said they went to the movies for their first date, and just a year later he proposed.
