he is very smart but highly intellectual (and probably apt to see other people are less well-informed, able to reason, etc.). It's the "pride goeth before a fall" problem encouraged by those will so much brainpower that they find it hard not to judge others as deficient

he likes to sent info to politicians like Rand Paul, Trump and others - but if they do not act upon it in the way he thinks they should, decides they are compromised (rather than looking at things from more than one viewpoint)

he's got a hard edge to him. Often a indicator that this person has more ego involved than they realize - this can distort their judgments. (Compare with someone like Archbishop Vigano, who have not only mental brilliance but also depth, nuance, and humility. Or people like Scott Pressler, who focuses on local community building or Corona Cmte, which takes the same approach on a global level).
