I find that most awakened (not woke) people plan for the future, and that's all it takes to be prepared.
a little life experiences plus planning - considering mortality also. I built my house with tools in case I was ever in a wheelchair. such as a swing arm crane to hoist batteries in battery room, and kitchen style doors to the bathroom so it's wide (Im not huge, but you never know) and I plan to die before I buy or build again.
