BRIO68 US Army CL-600 ARTEMIS (Airborne Reconnaissance and Targeting Multi-Mission Intelligence System) from Romania on ISR patterns over Black Sea and Georgia.

This AC is targeted to replace the flying antenna farm (Guardrail) eventually.

The Armyโ€™s Airborne Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare System, or ARES, aircraft will help the service modernize its airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities and will feed into the High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System program, which could produce an aircraft to replace the Armyโ€™s aging Guardrail ISR aircraft fleet with greater capability and increased standoff ranges.

there is moar to it but this from Dec 30th.

From how I understand it these are all short term leases via JPM who, as part of the bullshit settlement with the DOJ are not supposed to be in this at all so they just arrange to have another bank do it, and will have to be "squared" at some point in the near future but that doesn't mean they will.

It's just a continuation of the legacy position(s) from Salomon, Drexel, AIG, Bear Stearns, JPM, Citi that go back decades.

No reason for any of them to have such an outsized derivatives position in this and the regulators are all asleep at the wheel-no change there as they always pull the Sgt. Schultz routine and then say "how did this habben?"

Ted Butler: Bank of America's silver short position is even larger than he thought

Butler candidly acknowledges the suspicions of others that no bank would undertake such fantastic positions for its own book and that Bank of America's silver short position is actually a U.S. government position. He writes that "proof is lacking" for such suspicion.

Maybe proof is lacking that the U.S. government is rigging the gold and silver markets this week, but there is much proof that the government has been rigging them as a matter of policy for more than 50 years:

https://gata.org/node/20925

And if the government is not rigging the gold and silver markets this week as well, maybe Butler can explain why the U.S. Commodity Futures Commission, which he has often properly criticized, repeatedly refuses to answer two crucial questions about market rigging, even when those questions are posted by a member of Congress:

-- Does the commission have jurisdiction over market manipulation by entities trading for or at the behest of the U.S. government, or is manipulative trading in the government's name perfectly legal?

-- Is the commission aware of trading in the gold and silver markets undertaken by or at the behest of the government?

Butler's analysis tonight is headlined "More Serious Than I Thought" and it's posted at Goldseek's companion site, SilverSeek, here:

Japan to maintain strict border restrictions until end of February

Amid a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases stemming from the omicron variant, Japan will extend until the end of February its stringent border controls that basically bar new entry by foreign nationals, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Tuesday.

Since Nov. 30, the country has mainly only admitted Japanese nationals and returning foreign residents in an effort to delay the spread of the omicron variant. โ€œBecause of the strictest border restrictions among the Group of Seven nations, we have been able to minimize the influx of the omicron variant and buy time to prepare for a surge in domestic cases,โ€ Kishida told reporters. The prime minister said the government will maintain โ€œthe frameworkโ€ of the current border restrictions until the end of next month.

While Japan will not accept newly arriving foreign nationals and will keep its daily cap on arriving passengers at 3,500, it will ease some other restrictions. For instance, foreign nationals from 11 high-risk countries with the omicron variant will now be allowed to re-enter, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said.

Those 11 countries are Angola, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Citigroup to exit consumer and small-business banking operations in Mexico

Citigroup Inc. will exit its Mexico consumer banking business, the latest strategic shift by Chief Executive Jane Fraser.

The bank said Tuesday it would exit consumer, small-business and middle-market banking in Mexico, a business best known as Banamex. Citigroup said the change was part of its continuing โ€œstrategic refresh.โ€ Those businesses accounted for about $3.5 billion in revenue in the first nine months of 2021, Citigroup said, or about 6% of the bankโ€™s total revenue in the period. Citigroup will be keeping its investment banking and institutional businesses in Mexico, as well as the private bank operations

Leaving wut is left to Wells Fargo who basically rule the roost in Mex and South America.

Citigroup kinda owns Africa and is most dominant there but they are not ditching investment, 'tutes and private banking in Mex.

hello

you are correct but used moar in the metals world to judge or value the worth of that stuff.

Breakdown of material and determining the individual 'parts' of whatever you are looking at.

Or looking at what exactly caused a problem etc.
