Asian markets down-U.S. oil prices soar Sunday, briefly punching above $130 as talk of Russia oil embargo heats up
Values for U.S. oil soared Sunday evening, driving prices above $125 a barrel in electronic trade as discussions about a ban on Russian oil heated up. Currently at $125.21-cap #3
US Treasury 10 year sitting on 1.70%-cap #4
Janet gonna be BUSY tomorrow-cap #5 US Futs
She'll come in at around 11am EST and push that PPT button again.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Sunday the U.S. was considering an embargo of Russian oil imports โin coordinationโ with European and NATO allies in response to Moscowโs unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported on Sunday that Saudi Arabia raised prices for all regions, hiking its Arab Light crude for next monthโs shipments to Asia to $4.95 a barrel above the benchmark it uses.
CPI comes out on Thursday too-gona be a disaster with that
The consensus is for a 0.8% increase in CPI, and a 0.5% increase in core CPI. The consensus is for CPI to be up 7.9% Year-over-year (YoY), and core CPI to be up 6.4% YoY.
Nikkei is free falling down about 2.76% and still habs 2 hours before the lunch break -they close for a lunch break in case you din't know.
They also don't have a Plunge Protection Team as we do but the BOJ has it's ways.
Here is yet another "we din't know" headline
Palladium Hits Record on Concerns Over Russian Supply Risks
Palladium hit an all-time high on mounting concerns that exports from top producer Russia could be disrupted as a result of sanctions against the country after it invaded Ukraine.
Russia accounts for 40% of all mined production of the metal thatโs mostly used in catalytic converters in gasoline-powered vehicles. President Vladimir Putin said again on Sunday the war will continue until Ukraine accepts his demands and halts resistance, dimming hopes for a negotiated settlement.

Treasury Official Addresses Rising "Strain", Illiquidity In The Market
key points
*markets showing some signs of strain
*investors are meeting elevated margin calls without delay
been warning about this for months-they eat themselves and it only accelerates they drops until J-J-J Janet shows up with the 'stick saves-even those not very effective as it doesn't do much to advance just treads water so these markets would be MUCH lower without J-J-J Janet
*investors are showing little concern about solvency or liquidity stresses at domestic financial institutions

Wheat continues surge toward all-time high as Russian invasion of Ukraine shuts down exports
Six consecutive limit-up sessions for wheat.
Wheat futures surged by their daily price limit again Monday, extending a relentless surge towards all-time highs and fanning fears of a global commodity shock as Russiaโs invasion of Ukraine shuts off a crucial source of exports and threatens future production of the key food grain.

Like I said everyone cheering the ban Muh Russia and since most people only know "up" in the markets let's see how a few circuit breaker days back them off of that shit-this meandering around and down 300-500 points ain't gonna cause any panic amongst the masses cause "it'll come back
The gas pumps still work (but for how long?-already well over $5 for low grade here) the credit cards do-but not in Russia (in mother russia credit cards work you) and here they are mostly all maxed out so.

Russian CDS Hit Record 2,757bps After Morgan Stanley Says Russia Set For Venezuela-Style Default
Amid widespread concerns of cascading Russian defaults, Gazprom creditors breathed a sigh of relief this morning on the news that the Russian energy giant had made a coupon payment on bonds due today. According to Bloomberg, some holders of a $1.3 billion Gazprom PJSC bond due Monday said they received payment in dollars, even after Russian President Vladimir Putin gave issuers the option of repaying foreign-currency debt in rubles. Bondholders said they received cash to pay off the bonds Monday, according to the people with knowledge of the payments, who declined to be identified because they arenโt authorized to speak publicly about the matter. News of the coupon payment sent the price of the bond sharply higher after crashing to 50% of par last week and was repaid at par today.
This is wild. I've never seen anything like that in my life. The bond was due today. Traded at 0.5% yield for a year.
Crashed to 50% par.
Repaid at par today.
