Grew up in GA. In 1985 or 86 (too many years, too many beers) a 3.somethingorother quake hit in middle GA.

Big enough to split one of the largest granite monoliths in America, a 3/4 mile long granite rock in Flat Rock Park (or something like that, again TMY/TMB). My geology prof took us on a field trip there to walk along a crack all the way across it's surface.

Was the most boring hour of my sophomore year in college.

To the memefags:

I had the opportunity to post some memes earlier today before work, and other anons responded with criticism and links to the Meme Psychology 101 links. Told me I was doing it wrong, that my message was "a personal attack" and essentially, that I should be about the message and moar logical.

Here's my take based on work that involved influencing juries in trials- they're half right. Problem is, we need moar than half.

The people on this board tend to be logical and of a minimum of above-average intelligence to near-idiot savant range. Unfortunately, approx. 95% of the population is NOT. There are people of ordinary to slightly higher than average intelligence, down to simple people who (I think of the WW2 generation) may not be sophisticated but have a good modicum of sense. And even dummies. You can find voters in all walks of life.

That's our target. The people. The ones who vote. They run the range, and logic will not work with all of them.

And plenty of them respond to muh feelz-type posts, especially ones that polarize figures and characature them. Particularly if the characature is either related to something they understand and will associate with, or if it calls out a polarizing filter with an easy-to-understand label.

If I connect with 1 out of 1,000 people who voted in 2016 (119 million people, most of whom will talk with their frens about politics), extrapolating upwards with a +/- 50% failure rate for secondary connections beyond that person (meaning Mr. Public talking to his frens), that still equates to 59,500 people who have been led away from the cabal's puppet party.

That ain't chump change.

Take the high road in my posts? No thanks. I'll stick Alinsky right up their wazoo.

These people falsely claimed POTUS hired a Russian hooker to piss on a hotel bed for keks

FFS, hit them with everything you've got. Madison Avenue-like post psychological theory is ok, but let's not get so caught up in it we forget that maybe - JUST MAYBE - we don't think or speak like the rest of the population.

Not claiming we're better. But we are definitely more cerebral. Sometimes cerebral doesn't work, not matter how cleverly you think you've packaged it.

My 2 cents. Rant over.
