Jon Erlichman Bloomberg News
Related to John Erlichman??-Nixon Admin White House Domestic Affairs Advisor and prior White House Counsel
Have wondered this for a while-have seen him on B'Berg TV-it used to be "on" in the background just to see what they all ere saying for several years... Is he is related to John Erlichman of Nixon Administration 'fame'?-his bio only lists his mother-Pam and John Erlichman had several marriages but there is no reference to a son named Jon.
https://celebspage.com/jon-erlichman/
Parents-Mother: Pamela Erlichman
No father?
"Raised by parents (pamela erlichman) and father, whose information is unknown at the moment'''
https://factprofiles.com/jon-erlichman/
Birthdate of May 28th 1978 and seemed to have been on the front lines of several "breaking news stories including the Ebola shit..a few examples: he reported on the death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and Facebook’s IPO...broke news such as Satya Nadella becoming CEO of Microsoft. Erlichman moved to Los Angeles, as part of the expansion of Bloomberg TV in 2013. In 2014, he became a correspondent with ABC News based in Los Angeles, covering stories such as the Ebola outbreak In 2015, he co-founded Parachute TV, the first live-streaming TV channel on Periscope
https://en.everybodywiki.com/Jon_Erlichman#cite_ref-Ebola_10-0
During the financial crisis, he routinely reported from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Erlichman also helped spearhead Bloomberg Television’s coverage of General Motors’ bankruptcy, the Bernie Madoff fraud case, and the SEC’s case against Goldman Sachs. He interviewed leading investors, such as David Einhorn, Tom Barrack, Tom Marsico Alec Gores, Michael Burry and Barry Rosenstein and provided daily commentary on Bloomberg Radio. Stories Jon broke included Mark Cuban’s planned sale of Landmark Cinemas and Lions Gate’s attempts to reduce Carl Icahn’s stake in the company.
https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/talent/jon-erlichman-1.451948
John Erlichman (Nixon admin) was released from Prison in April 1978 (He entered the prison in eastern Arizona on Oct. 28, 1976.) and this one (Jon) was born in May 1978 so can't make any definitive connection to them but I've seen no reference to the younger ones father which certainly seems odd given the name involved here.

Death toll grows after Marmolada glacier collapse in Italian alps
The number of people confirmed dead has grown to seven after a glacier collapse on Marmolada in the Italian alps, officials said Monday, though search and rescue efforts have been suspended because of heavy rain.
Emergency officials told the BBC and the Italian news agency ANSA that the death toll has grown to seven after the body of another victim was found and that the number is expected to continue to rise as at least 14 people remain missing.

Wikileaks' Assange Lodges Appeal Against US Extradition
WikiLeaks' founder Julian Assange has appealed to the High Court in London to block his extradition to the United States to face criminal charges, his brother said on Friday, the latest step in his legal battle that has dragged on for more than a decade. Assange, 50, is wanted by U.S. authorities on 18 counts, including a spying charge, relating to WikiLeaks' release of vast troves of confidential U.S. military records and diplomatic cables which Washington said had put lives in danger.
Last month, Home Secretary Priti Patel approved his extradition, with her office saying British courts had concluded his extradition would not be incompatible with his human rights, and that he would be treated appropriately. Australian-born Assange's legal team have lodged an appeal against that decision at the High Court, his brother Gabriel Shipton confirmed. The court must give its approval for the appeal to be heard, but it is likely the legal case will take months to conclude. "We also urge the Australian government to intervene immediately in the case to end this nightmare," Shipton told Reuters. The saga began at the end of 2010 when Sweden sought Assange's extradition from Britain over allegations of sex crimes. When he lost that case in 2012, he fled to the Ecuadorean embassy in London, where he spent seven years.
When he was finally dragged out in April 2019, he was jailed for breaching British bail conditions although the Swedish case against him had been dropped. He has been fighting extradition to the United States since June 2019 and remains in jail. "We're going to fight this. We're going to use every appeal avenue," his wife Stella Assange told reporters after Patel approved his extradition.

Already trying to "make it all over" by even suggesting a 'recovery' (but credit given for acknowledging being premature) or how long it may take at this point but it does have some interdasting historical data-based points.
House Price Declines: How Long for Real Prices to Recover?
Housing economist Tom Lawler sent me some old FHFA research from 2009: A Brief Examination of Previous House Price Declines. ... A conclusion from the research: First, house price downturns have tended to be long. The median time required to return to prior peak prices was 10½ to 20 years. Second, it tends to take longer for prices to rise from the trough to their former peak than it takes prices to decline from peak to trough. While the difference is small for Census Divisions and states, FHFA’s Metropolitan Statistical Area and Division (MSA) indexes suggest that the time from peak to trough tends to be about 3¾ years, whereas the median recovery period (from trough to prior peak) was 6⅔ years. .. Here is a similar look at national prices using the real Case-Shiller index (adjusted for inflation).
The real return following the ‘79 peak was 6.5 years. It took 11 years for real prices to reach the previous peak following the peak in ‘89.
And it took 14.5 years to return to the real peak reached during the housing bubble.
This is a little premature, but following a downturn, it typically takes a long time for prices to return to the previous real price peak. Of course, homeowners think in nominal terms, and if prices just “stall”, they usually don’t notice the inflation adjusted price decline.

This has a long way to go-and as long as interest rates remain higher that is gonna keep the pressure up as the pool of qualified buyers shrink as those costs go up..not to mention an individuals Debt to Equity ratio that exacerbates rising interest rates.

The early Drs I went to when the old problem started all said I had dhat- Ménière's Disease

Coincidentally muh English class was reading Brave New World so brought the bottle in to show the teacher.

Moar on "It's the Yen Stoopid": Energy Crisis Slams Japan as Weak Yen Sends Import Costs Surging +Mkt Fag Op Ed-Yen, US Dollar and the NYFRB
The slump in the Japanese yen, the war in Ukraine and a heatwave in Tokyo are pushing the world’s third-biggest economy toward a full-blown energy crisis.
Japan imports about 90% of its energy, mostly priced in dollars, and costs were already soaring from a jump in global oil, gas and coal prices, even before the yen fell to its lowest level in two decades.
The price of Brent oil, a benchmark for global trade, has risen more than 40% in dollar terms this year, bolstered by ~~Russia’s invasion of Ukraine~~ the media continuing to use Muh Russia/Ukriane as the excuse-FIFY and a recovery in demand. But in yen terms, it’s up almost 70%. The average cost to import a ton of liquefied natural gas in the Japanese currency was almost 120% higher in May than a year earlier, according to the latest trade data. (Which is why they are shitting there pants at this) >>141417 lb Russia move on Sakhalin-2 thrusts Japan into an energy dilemma
Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s government joined the Group of Seven countries in imposing sanctions on Russia and shunning its oil and coal, tightening the pool of available supplies for Japan. His administration was jolted on Friday by Russia's move to transfer rights to a key natural gas project in Sakhalin that could force foreign stakeholders out, including Japan.
On top of that, most of the nation’s nuclear reactors are still offline since the Fukushima disaster more than a decade ago. Renewable energy accounted for less than 10% of Japan's primary energy supply in the year ended March 2019, according to data from the IEA, leaving the country with little option but to pay the high fossil-fuel bill to keep the economy going. Supplies are being strained even more by an unseasonably hot summer, with temperature in the capital nearing 37 degrees Celsius (99 Fahrenheit) last week, compared with a 30-year average of 22.5 Celsius. The rainy season in the greater Tokyo area ended the earliest on records going back to 1951 and the government is asking citizens nationwide to conserve power.
The cumulative effect of all these factors is putting Kishida’s administration in a tough position, especially with an upper-house election due on July 10. Fuel rates aren’t the only imports affected by the yen’s dive and increased global competition for supplies. Prices of food and raw materials to make everything from paper to steel and concrete are also soaring.
The situation has revived a long-running debate over Japan’s energy and food security, Masakazu Tokura, the head of Japan’s biggest business lobby Keidanren, said in April. Costly fuel and the weak yen pushed trade imports to a record in May, up nearly 50% from a year before, keeping the country’s trade balance in the red. While the weak currency may give a tailwind for Japan’s exporters, many of its manufacturers that depend on overseas commodities have been forced to transfer rising costs to consumers. “Our industry is getting double slammed,” said Tamio Akiyama, managing director of the Japan Paper Association, an industry group. “We’ve not seen fuel prices surge this high so quickly before, and the outlook on the yen is hard to predict.”
Rising costs of coal and wood chips prompted producers including Nippon Paper Industries Co. and Oji Holdings Corp. to raise the price of printing paper and business communication paper by at least 15%. The nation’s two biggest steelmakers are negotiating price increases with customers. The nation has had some respite with the price of Brent crude easing about 2.8% in the past two weeks. But the country looks to be in for a hot and expensive summer.
The latest crisis has spurred debate over Japan's energy policies and power-market structure. On one side, it may add momentum to expand renewable energy. Japan’s first two large-scale offshore wind farms, under construction by Marubeni Corp., are scheduled to come online this year, and a change to bidding rules could speed up new projects. While that could help decarbonize the energy mix, it threatens to add more instability to a grid that's already stretched.
The crisis has also revived debate over the use of nuclear power, long considered a touchy subject since the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster. The government may seek ways to restart idled atomic plants, according to Noriaki Oba, President of Post-oil Strategy Institute in Tokyo.
https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/energy-crisis-slams-japan-as-weak-yen-sends-import-costs-surging-1.1787629
Eventually that is what they will do-restart the Nuclear plants as they have little alternative.
Mkt Fag Op Ed-Yen, US Dollar and the NYFRB
As I've said for a long time (muh fren can confirm this)...this is where it 'ends' financially speaking and how the central banking system will be killed...one of the ways along with the exposure of how they use the commodity markets to make sure prices in everything we need (Food, Fuel, Raw materials etc) are high and everything we don't need stay low (like TV's, 'Vanity' purchases to sum it up-'accoutrements' for lack of a better term) when the BOJ finally capitulates (in a meaningful way-not a small rate rise trickled out over time) as the BUCK--cap #3 shows you we still have quite a bit to go to get to the 2000-03 highs of the US $ and well as the mid 80's (that was a dollar worth moar adjusted for inflation also in the 1999-2003 range)- stops here since this is what is and has been propping our dollar. Mebby if yer central bank wasn't sacrificing the yen to prop our dollar via all those Reverse Repos-but this is something that has been a LONG time coming as the Yen-carry trade used for decades as a tool (you know how the FRB always sez it has "tools in the toolbox"...this is one of them) to keep our Dollar propped via teh conversion of Yen to Dollars (and as a hedge) by traders, hedge-funds, banks, MANY companies'''
see this from Apple as latest example >>141478 Apple hikes prices on products in Japan
Eventually these Reverse Repos will be spit back out of the NYFRB (in dollars) as Repos and it will produce a flood of US $'s which will be used to buy up anything not nailed down-at that point we'll be at Weimar Republic style inflation cause we aren't even close to that yet-as much as it may feel that way-the system still ha a few tricks up it's sleeve to help keep that off for a while-like say until just after our mid-term elections.
BTW the biggest and most manipulated commodity of them all Silver will play a YUGE roll in it and even though the Q drop "gold shall destroy the FED" makes you think that the price of it will sky rocket..it doesn't mean that imo..what that means is all the games they have played with it-the usage of it for real Sovereign Debt settlement-all the Treasuries and Notes-paper backed debt is just a show, swapping it out/leasing it and looting our supply, stealing the Russians Gold for over 100 years-because most of the Gold we had in Ft. Know actually came from them. And above all lying about what we really have in Gold and Silver that is stashed in all the National Parks-so although the price of gold will rise they take most of it and put it in a safe and is not used as an industrial metal and a money like Silver used to be. There was a reason they went to the Gold Standard via the At of 1900 and muh fren Godzilla and his sortof acquaintance now Mecha-Godzilla went over how they took away the bimetallism aspect of out redeemable currency with the Gold Act of 1900

Currency traders are NOT getting any sleep now-why I never did it-these moves in it..over the last 2-3 months are yearly or multiple year moves historically speaking-some of these have been larger-in one day- than several months and as mentioned an entire year-the Ruble too-but that is a different scenario
Look for yet another record Reverse Repo (Stand Alone) and total amount tomorrow as that-Yen makes it's way back to 137)
edits to 579 in case you have a window opem

and it continues-seems to have found a 'top' for now.
They haven't even taken their lunch break yet-they close for an hour every day from 11:30am-12:30pm JST
They also have a ton of Bank Holidays too like the English and that is a legacy of having currency and market issues after WW2 for both of them.
These are actual holidays where the banks and markets are shut down-imo they added Juneteenth Day as one here with our markets in the same vein and look to have more ones like that added here as ours decide to come apart-or at the very least "technical issues" that force closures or slow withdrawals-because that is really what is going on with all of that.
Some of these are just hilarious:
Showa Day-it is a dual thing with the start of Golden Week and it's pretty much already covered earlier in the year by the Emperor's Birthday-but that is the current one so that changes as those change-so not very often.
Coming of Age day
Greenery Day
Children's Day
Marine Day
Sports Day
Mountain Day
Some of them are doable-why not for Kids right? These are all in place to sort of slow down the system and as mentioned added so the banking system had 'breather time' after the War and they just continued to add them
yeah for a long time and then Abe (or moar like he was told to say it-and it wouldn't have mattered who it was at the time) said they were gonna enrich uranium for them and then not along after...Fukushima.
Also (Fukushina) had to do with the BOJ balking at printing again (saw rumors that they were told once and refused and then after the second refusal they had that done to them and it became the necessary 'aid package').
Right after that, 021111, is when the BOJ began it's loose money policy-and that is what is blowing up on them now.
It certainly appears that way now-they (BOJ) got really nervous in early 2019 (had an emergency meeting) and we via the FED threw a ton of US$ at the yen when it was at 113- or so and that was 45/Abe and whatever you want to call the good side-hard to use that term cause it's not really easy to say that since we are dealing with people who have done really shitty stuff in the past trying to fix it-battling it out with the DS-trying to keep it from devaluing-but ultimately it's gonna blow up as there is really no stopping it.
Unless they stop doing those Ops at NYFRB but then our mrkts blow up becasue they (the US side) has shown they need that much to just keep it together on a nightly basis and they (NYFRB) is being forced to do this imo-blowing this all up...to the upside-even thought markets have lost 20% YTD.
What goes on in the darkpools and off-books is what really counts-not the shiny habby #'s everyone sees on TV.
Do not envy them trying to keep this thing together w/o hurting regular peeps-it's almost impossible but l'll say they've done a good job so far.
People looking at statements think they "lost" 20% but it really has/had no business being this high in the first place.
Everyone (publicy and normies) looks at China as controlling us via all the debt we 'owe' them but I've always believed it's Japan via that entire Yen-carry trade.
They didn't do that that with the yuan and Japan has been the biggest holder of US debt for over 2 years now cap #1
The CCP and the factions totally control that entire system and country and have since the end of the war-tightened grip before-so we were always taught we were fighting the Japanese in WW2 in the Pacific-well it was certainly their military but it wasn't them controlling it-it was the factions in China controlled by the lovely bad arm of our "strongest allies" the Zionists.
The entire Treasury note/debt thing is just a show-they all do the real stuff in gold
edit for correction ^^
prolly din't do that justice and end up making it moar confusing..it's complicated in the first place cause you also have to throw the whole CCP/Taiwan and the stuff in Manchuria in that too and that had a lot of impact on who really controls Japan too.
That's probably why the Japanese have stated they will 'defend' Taiwan and then we have to get involved via that security pact/agreement
Saw an Op-Ed piece form the Nikkei with the author saying the Japanese Navy should sail through the Taiwan straight ala elephant walk-and we had that one not long ago too but I don't think it went through that specific area.
That would be a really bad idea imo but if they want to 'kick that off" what better way to have it "habben" via someone who is always presented as the third-party.
I think of Japan like Switerzland...totally NOT neutral based on who controls them.
Don't claim to know it all but I do think that the whole moving it to the east (financially speaking) meant Japan via china's (factional fighting-cause it's not the Gov't its these OG dragon families fighting amongst themselves) control of it.

Macron, Scholz Continue To Coordinate Positions On Russian War In Ukraine
French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz continued 'close coordination on the response to the war in Ukraine' during a working dinner in Paris Monday night. Thus, the two leaders met a week after a private dinner held on June 25 on the occasion of the G7 summit in the Bavarian Alps, Ukrinform reports, referring to Le Monde.
During this Paris dinner, the two leaders returned to 'the main current issues at the international, European and bilateral levels', the report says. They were to discuss EU independence in 'energy, defense, and strategic raw materials', as well as the situation in the Sahel and the next Franco-German Council of Ministers. 'Such negotiations help build trust and deepen this trust,' especially after the NATO and G7 summit in Elmau, said Chancellor's spokesman Steffen Hebestreit.

yes you write it much better than muh attempt-Also totally right-so much of this is based on thousands of years and we working with hundreds if that makes sense -at least a reasonable perspective on it.
Know the Gen Mac thing pretty well he got stopped cold and for the world in general I don't think many know just how much of an impact that would have had if he were allowed to continue. We'd still have similar problems but mebby not on such a large scale becasue that would have set them back pretty far.
Probably wouldn't be the generation around to watch it all fall apart and be able to participate in it either.
Which I think is the best thing EVER!

>often juxtaposed
yes I tend to think moar in terms on what is moar easily understood and not based on the official story either-that is much harder to do once you get back about about 3 k years or so-and not from the bible interpretation since that is a different ball of wax as far as being able to go back further and pick that apart-much easier.
After that it's almost guessing but it's certainly not how it is presented at all
I'd say it is much easier to go back several thousand years (now) and be definitive based on what we've been able to learn and have a much better idea of what it truly was (it all depends on which topic though)
The Ruins (ancient civ) left behind is one that I can safely say I can get back to almost 100's of thousand of years ago and have this whole opp to truly be able to focus on it becasue it means so much moar than just something you sorta of watched with no connection to current stuffs.
They din't make it easy to do that's fer sure!

Op Ed: PM Trudope fails families with monetary policy
Before he became prime minister in 2015, Justin Trudeau made the outrageously untrue prediction that, “the budget will balance itself.” It didn’t — by a long shot. During the last election, Trudeau told reporters, “… you’ll forgive me if I don’t think about monetary policy. You’ll understand that I think about families.” He can’t multitask? He can’t think about families and the economy? Monetary policy might make his head hurt, but it’s the cornerstone that makes everything else in this country tick. Canadian families are hurting and will suffer more if he doesn’t pay attention and get the debt and deficit under control. His solution to every problem is to print money to throw at it.

Interdasting backstory on the fellow the airport is named after Francis Stanley Gabreski-it is also the home of Air National Guard (ANG) base for the 106th Rescue Wing (106 RQW), an Air Combat Command (ACC)-gained unit of the New York Air National Guard.
Although best known for his credited destruction of 34½ aircraft in aerial combat and being one of only seven U.S. combat pilots to become an ace in two wars, Gabreski was also one of the Air Force's most accomplished leaders. In addition to commanding two fighter squadrons, Gabreski had six command tours at group or wing level, including one in combat in Korea, totalling over 11 years of command and 15 overall in operational fighter assignments.

>Look for yet another record Reverse Repo (Stand Alone) and total amount tomorrow
U.S. stocks tumbled Tuesday as global economic growth fears weighed on sentiment and the dollar hit a 19-year high, after investors returned from the three-day July Fourth holiday weekend. Stocks bounced on Friday, but ended the week with hefty losses after the S&P 500 logged its worst first-half performance since 1970. U.S. equity markets were shut on Monday for the Independence Day holiday. Concerns over whether inflation might spur the Federal Reserve to tighten monetary policy even more aggressively at the expense of economic growth, have weighed on equities even amid short-lived bear market rallies. Such concerns have already contributed to the S&P 500 index falling nearly 21% in the first six months of 2022, its worst half since 1970.
Treasury yields fell Tuesday, with the rate on the 2-year note briefly trading above the 10-year yield after briefly inverting twice earlier this year. A prolonged inversion of the Treasury yield curve is seen as a warning signal of potential recession.
(and the 2 year and the 10 year is up there too is what they have been "lending" HARD in the NYFRB Operations for the last two weeks...imagine that-all of this is TOTALLY controlled and in slow motion) News reports said the Biden administration may roll back tariffs imposed on some Chinese goods — potentially helping to crimp inflation imported into the U.S.
Traders displayed a reluctance to make fresh bullish bets ahead of potential market-moving economic data over the next few sessions and the U.S. second-quarter corporate earnings reporting season, which kicks off next week.
The Federal Reserve on Wednesday will release the minutes for its June interest rate-setting meeting, while Friday sees publication of the June U.S. nonfarm payrolls report. Both will be eagerly scanned by investors for clues to the likely pace of Fed interest rate rises. See U.S. economics calendar. In data published Tuesday, U.S. factory orders jumped 1.6% in May in a show of strength among manufacturers — but a more recent survey of of top executives suggests demand might be waning in tandem with a slowing economy.
Indications that the U.S central bank is going to be more aggressive in its monetary tightening cycle than its peers is boosting the dollar. The dollar index DXY rose 0.8% to 106.01, its highest level in more than 19 years, as the euro EURUSD slipped closer to parity with the greenback.
The buoyant dollar may make life tougher for U.S. exporters, and analysts will be on alert for evidence of currency headwinds when companies reveal their earnings in coming weeks.
Wall Street analysts’ consensus estimate is for S&P 500 index company revenues to be 10.4% higher than in the same period last year, with 5.6% earnings growth, according to I/B/E/S data from Refinitiv.(and that has nuffin to do with the massive share buy back programs that most of them have ..../s)
There was better news out of China. The world’s second biggest economy saw its service sector expand in June at the fastest pace in nearly a year. Exxon Mobil Corp. XOM said in a filing late Friday that it expects a boost of at least $2.5 billion to its bottom line in the second quarter from rising prices for oil and gas, with billions more coming from higher margins for gasoline and other energy products. Shares dropped 2.6%. Oil (WTI) smershed and down under $100 @ $98.72, Gold (spot) fell -41.50 -2.30% to trade below $1,775 an ounce and currently at $1765and since they NEVER mention it Silver is getting CREAMED -0.80 -4.01%' Bitcoin BTCUSD fell 3.5% to trade near $19,540. The Stoxx Europe 600 XX:SXXP fell 1.4%, while London’s FTSE 100 UK:UKX shed 2.4%. In Asia, Japan’s Nikkei 225 JP:NIK rallied 1% to 26,423 and China’s Shanghai Composite CN:SHCOMP closed barely changed at 3,404. In Europe the Stoxx 600 XX:SXXP fell 0.7% to 406.5, as investors continued to fret about the damage high energy costs are inflicting on the continent’s economy.

As Oil Tumbles, Saudis Hike Asian Prices Near Record To Meet Soaring Demand
With oil tumbling almost 10% this morning, one would think that a major oil consuming country has suddenly gone dark, plunging into a deep depression. The answer, as so often happens, is just the opposite, and in fact on Tuesday Saudi Arabia raised next month’s oil prices for its biggest market of Asia to match all time highs, amid signs that underlying demand is soaring despite what one would concludes are growing recessionary concerns if only merely looked at the price of oil.
As shown in cap#2, oil giant Saudi Aramco raised its key Arab Light crude grade for Asian customers by $2.80/bbl from July to $9.30 above the regional benchmark, just 5 cents shy of a record high! The Saudis also lifted the prices of all other grades for Asia in August, with Extra Light at a record premium. Aramco announced smaller increases in the prices of Extra Light, Arab Light, and Medium to both the Mediterranean region and northwest Europe. All prices for the U.S. market remain the same as last month’s, Bloomberg reported. The market viewed the price increase as a sign that the world’s top crude oil exporter expects robust demand this summer despite growing fears of a recession that could sink demand.
The Saudi price spike takes place as Russia’s seaborne crude exports in the seven days to July 1 rebounded from the previous week’s plunge, but shipments to Asia are slipping, even as flows are diverted to the country’s Black Sea terminal to cut the voyage distance to India. As a reminder, we noted over the weekend that Russia is now exporting more than it did before the Ukraine war courtesy of soaring India and China imports.
Aggregate crude flows from Russian ports were up week-on-week by 23%, recovering most of the volume lost over the previous seven days during a brief halt in shipments from the Baltic port of Primorsk. Still, cargoes bound for Asia — a crucial market where China and India have stepped in to prop up Russian exports others have shunned in response to its invasion of Ukraine — were down by more than 15% on both a weekly and four-week average basis from the highs seen at the end of May.
Overall, Russia’s seaborne shipments returned to 3.67 million b/d, broadly in line with the plateau level achieved since the start of April.
In other words, with Russian supply to Asia suffering a modest hiccup, it was Saudi Arabia's turn to step up and it did so at a near record price, a price which China incidentally had no problem paying because half a world away, a bunch of CTAs dumped oil because some other CTA dumped oil before them and the momentum-chasers all piled on, for which Beijing is very grateful.

This is gonna sooo backfire on them-you'll just see a ton of demand destruction-if you thought it was bad (but being ignored so far) this is gonna kill it
The problem here is that Oil is not in the PPI (inflation #s) but gasoline is-so they need to get that down as doing this to oil is not gonna have an affect on those inflation #s they so desperately want to show as "peaking" again
>doesn't make life any easier now but it will..eventually

Euro hits 20-year low against the dollar as growth worries increase
The euro is trading Tuesday at its lowest level against the dollar since 2002 fas traders gauge the amount of hiking the ECB will be able to do. French industrial production was flat month over month in May, while economists were looking for a 0.2% rise.
Money markets cut the amount of ECB tightening priced in to below 140 basis points after the numbers, Bloomberg reported.
That put further pressure on the single currency, which has been up just one month against the greenback this year.
The "question of how the ECB will deal with a potential widening in spreads is set to come increasingly to the fore as they almost certainly embark on their first hiking cycle in over a decade this month," Deutsche Bank's Jim Reid wrote. "And yesterday we heard some further comments from ECB officials on that hiking cycle, with Estonia’s Muller pushing back against the calls from others to start with a 50bps hike, saying that it was appropriate to begin with a 25bps move in July, and then 50bps in September as they’ve signaled."
The ECB instructed staff last month to create a new tool to deal with fragmented yields.

Payment For Order Flow & The SEC’s Plan To End It
The bigger issue here is spoofing-it really doesn't make a difference if you make this order flow public via an "auction process or a bidding procedure" as they are describing-you have to address the fake orders-that are never filled that are placed to try to influence market direction.
What they (SEC) need to do to solve that is get rid of the kickbacks that the market makers pay to PLACE orders-this and then CHARGE them to PLACE those orders-only when you disincentivize and demonetize this entire process you'll be able to claim you can fix it but until you start charging them to PLACE the orders spoofing will still habben and you'll just be able to see it and the SEC will still do nuffin.

“Payment For Order Flow” remains a contention between retail investors and Wall Street. On the one hand, it creates the ability to have “free trading” for retail investors. However, it also creates an opportunity for Wall Street to “front-run” individuals for profit.
In financial markets, “Payment For Order Flow,” or “PFOF,” refers to a broker’s compensation from third parties to influence how the broker routes client orders for fulfillment. For years, paying for order flows allowed firms to centralize customers’ orders for another firm to execute. Such allowed smaller firms to use economies of scale of larger firms. Such enables small firms to combine orders with larger firms, providing better execution quality.
Over the years, the decimalization of the trading securities diminished the profitability of trade execution. Such pushed Wall Street toward payment for order flow as a way to generate revenue and subsidize the move to zero commissions. Technological advances and data analysis increased the speed with which information gets sent and received. Over the last decade, Wall Street spent billions to figure out ways to take advantage of the data and “game the system.”
Today, Robinhood and others generate the bulk of their revenues from payment for order flow by selling orders to the highest bidder.Citadel Think about this carefully. If a firm is selling order flow to the highest bidder, even though you are paying “zero commissions,” you are not necessarily getting the best execution.Protip: yer not-this been a problem even before High Frequency Tradinf (HFT)
The issue of payment for order flow is not a new thing. In 2004, Citadel’s attorney Jonathan G. Katz wrote a letter to the SEC making a definitive argument the practice of selling order flow should be illegal-and yet this is one of the most profitable arrangements that Citadel has.'''
Think about that for a moment.
In 2004, Citadel argued that payment for order flow should be illegal to the SEC.
In 2020, Citadel is the largest firm in the payment for order flow business. Citadel decided that “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” was the best game plan. What happened between 2004 and 2020?
'''During the waning days of fractional pricing, the smallest spread was ⅛ of a dollar, or $0.125-and this stopped-fractional trading in July of 2001-just in front of 911...not a coincidence.. Spreads for options orders were considerably wider. Traders discovered “free” trades cost them quite a bit since they didn’t get the best transaction price. At that point, the SEC did step in to conduct a study. The result was a near ban on payment for order flow. The study found, among other things, that the proliferation of options exchanges narrowed spreads due to the additional competition for order execution. In the end, under pressure from Wall Street, the SEC acquiesced and allowed the practice to continue stating: “While the fierce competition by increased multiple-listing produces immediate economic benefits to investors in the form of narrower quotes and effective spreads. By some measures these improvements get muted with the spread of payment for order flow and internalization.”
That decision opened “Pandora’s box.* “As is clear from the billions paid for, and made from, order flows, there is no such thing as ‘free trading.’ Thus, the claim of ‘commission-free trading’ is no more than a rhetorical ruse to attract new investors. Such distracts them from the billions of dollars in PFOF and other hidden costs that come out of retail investors’ pockets.
These intermediaries are often merely transferring the investors’ visible upfront commissions into invisible after-the-fact de facto commissions. Such enables the complexity of the fragmented order processing system that one could argue is designed primarily to hide those payments.” – Better Markets
Such is why Wall Street lobbies the SEC heavily to look the other way. They also continue to obfuscate the “racket” under the guise of “creating market liquidity.” However, liquidity would remain in a world without payment for order flow. Wall Street would merely shift focus back to market-making. But, if you don’t think this is a “big deal,” you are sorely misinformed. “Brokerages such as Charles Schwab Corp., TD Ameritrade, Robinhood Markets Inc., and E*Trade collected nearly $2.6 billion in payments for stock and option orders. The biggest sources of the payments were electronic trading firms such as Citadel Securities, Susquehanna International Group LLP andVirtu Financial Inc.” – WSJ
'''By FAR the biggest one is Virtu Financial see here: >>131956 pb Without Registering as Stock Exchanges, Citadel Securities and Virtu Financial Account for More Stock Trading than the New York Stock Exchange
and here all pb: >>136105, >>136107, >>136109 CFTC Orders Glencore to Pay $1.186 Billion for Manipulation and Corruption + Glencore co-founder Marc Rich/James Comey Clinton Foundation and Market Rigger Virtu Financial all connected
“Such firms make money by selling shares for slightly more than they are willing to buy them, and pocketing the price difference.” So, exactly why would firms pay for order flow? They are willing to pay for order flow from online brokerages because they are less likely to lose money trading against individual investors than on an exchange, where traders tend to be larger and more sophisticated.” – WSJ
Once again, the SEC is looking at fixing the payment for order flow practice.
“Right now, there isn’t a level playing field among different parts of the market: wholesalers, dark pools, and lit exchanges. It’s not clear, given the current market segmentation, concentration, and lack of a level playing field, that our current national market system is as fair and competitive as possible for investors.” – SEC Chairman, Gary Gensler
The Wall Street Journal went into more detail about what was currently getting considered:
“Chairman Gary Gensler directed SEC staff last year to explore ways to make the stock market more efficient for small investors and public companies. While aspects of the effort are in varying stages of development, one idea that has gained traction is to require brokerages to send most individual investors’ orders to be routed into auctions where trading firms compete to execute them. The most consequential change being discussed would affect the way trades are handled after an investor places a so-called market order with a broker to buy or sell a stock. Market orders, which account for the majority of individual investors’ trades, don’t specify a minimum or maximum price the investor is willing to pay. Mr. Gensler has said he wants to ensure that brokers execute orders at the best possible price for investors—the highest price for when an investor is selling, or the lowest price if they are buying.” – WSJ
The SEC is considering an “auction market” that would force firms to compete with each other to fill an individual investor’s trade*. That change would impact how firms like Citadel Securities and Robinhood Markets process retail trade orders. Now you can understand that “free trades” weren’t that “free” after all.
*An Auction like the US Treasury debt sales that masquerade as Auctions?--sorry that not gonna work-they'll just game that to make it appear legitimate-It's a different process for that but the mechanics are not very different-it's the same basic premise and they want to apply that to Equity orders.
And ANYTHING that Gary Gensler is for you know it is NOT for you-they are busy right now trying to pick the winners and losers in the crypto markets-they all should lose but that is a personal opinion...Tether has never had the money (1:1) it claims to so they'll just take them out and make it look organic and finally make them admit that all those exchanges are nothing but phony trades-and that doesn't address the entire "value" of cryptos in general..different argument for different day.
They all went to "free-trades becasue that only increases the amount of trades people make since "it's free"-thus the PFOF problem is only a richer moar profitable stream of revenue for them.
moar here and does cover the psychology of free trades=moar trades
