China Banks Rush to Raise Record Debt as Credit Losses Mount

Chinese banks are rushing to boost capital as they prepare for a potential spike in bad loans due to the economic slowdown and spreading housing crisis.

A record amount of fresh money has come from financial markets, with banks selling 29% more bonds in the first half of the year compared to last year to replenish capital and cover credit losses. Local authorities also provided funds from government bond sales to help cash-strapped regional lenders.

China’s economy grew at the weakest pace in more than two years in the second quarter due to Covid lockdowns and a protracted housing market downturn, stoking worries about an increase in companies and individuals who cannot repay loans. Those fears deepened recently when hundreds of thousands of home owners said they would stop paying the mortgage on houses that aren’t built yet, raising the pressure on developers, who may face more difficulty selling projects and also have to repay banks loans. “We believe that asset quality is worsening due to Covid-related lockdowns, the property slump, the risks associated with small and micro loans, and the general economic slowdown in China,” said Harry Hu, a senior director at S&P Global Ratings. The capital injections from the government “will help those small regional banks with large bad loan burdens to clean up their books and support the local economies.”

In the year through July 27, lenders had sold a combined 568 billion yuan ($84 billion) of Additional Tier 1 debt, which is among the first to absorb losses in times of stress, and Tier 2 bonds. China’s big-four state-owned banks are the major sellers of the bonds this year, according to data on onshore sales compiled by Bloomberg, although local lenders including Bank of Hebei Co., Chengdu Rural Commercial Bank Co., and Bank of Shanghai Co. are also selling. Such debt is the main tools for banks to add extra capital, analysts including Liao Zhiming of China Merchants Securities Co. wrote in a report in May. In addition to this, the central government will allow 320 billion yuan generated from the sale of special local bonds to be used to top up the capital of medium- and small-sized banks, the Financial News reported last week, citing an unnamed official with the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission. The amount, including 120 billion yuan in unused funds from last year, is 60% higher than in 2020 when money from the sale of these bonds was first allowed to be used for that purpose.

Bad loans increased by almost 107 billion yuan in the first half of the year to 2.95 trillion yuan, according to the CBIRC. That’s the biggest six-month increase since the height of the domestic pandemic in the first half of 2020, according to Bloomberg calculations based on the commission’s data. Meanwhile, banks’ capital adequacy ratio fell for the second straight quarter to 14.87% at the end of June. “The pressure on non-performing loans to rebound increased as the downward pressure on the economy was gradually felt by the financial sector,” Liu Zhongrui, an official with the CBIRC’s statistics and risk monitoring department, said at a briefing last week. The “slower than expected” economic recovery has led S&P to raise its estimate of banks’ non-performing assets, which includes bad loans and some ‘special-mention loans,’ to 7.5% of total lending this year. That’s up from a May forecast of 6.5% and last year’s actual ratio of 6%.

The problem is especially acute at small and medium-sized lenders, which hold 29% of the banking sector’s total assets, according to CBIRC data. They have long been plagued by lax governance, heavy reliance on big local firms for loans and deposits, and they are more exposed to the weak links in the economy than bigger lenders, such as agriculture-related industry and small businesses. The government’s efforts to push banks to lend more risk exacerbating the problem of asset quality. Corporate and household demand for loans is weak as Covid curbs remain a threat to business and household incomes, and if banks have to lower their lending requirements to attract borrowers then they could find themselves making new loans with little hope of repayment.

So no wonder nancy and paul sold a chunk of those chip stocks (aside from showing a loss to say "see we lose too")...and they-Semi Mfgs-face the same problem as the big box retailers..cost of carrying unsold inventory

South Korea’s Chip Stockpile Swells in Warning Sign for Exports

South Korea’s semiconductor stockpiles expanded at the fastest pace in more than six years, adding to concern about the outlook for exports that drive the country’s economic growth.

Nationwide inventory soared 79.8% in June from a year earlier, the statistics office said Friday, up from a 53.8% jump in May. At the same time, both production and shipments decelerated, suggesting a slowdown in the nation’s most profitable industry. The result casts a pall over the outlook for an economy where the central bank is in the midst of a yearlong tightening cycle. Memory chips are sold worldwide and underpin the strength of the won, which has been one of Asia’s worst performing currencies this year as trade deficits mount. South Korea was in the midst of a two-year export slump when chip inventories soared by 104.1% in April 2016.

The accumulation in stockpiles comes as Samsung Electronics Co. and SK Hynix Inc., two of the world’s largest memory-chip producers, warn future sales may weaken, adding to concerns about a global slowdown as inflation spurs global central banks to tighten. The two firms’ shares prices have still gained in recent weeks as investors bet the companies will cut capital spending, a move that would eventually tighten supply. The tiny components are used in everything from smartphones to laptops and cars.

South Korea’s overall industrial production rose 1.4% in June from a year earlier, less than the 2.1% forecast by economists.

Japan urges businesses to raise wages on par with price hikes

Japan on Friday urged companies to raise wages on par with price hikes of around 2 percent, a level the central bank has set as its inflation target, so that the world's third-largest economy can complete its exit from deflation.

The government said in its Annual Report on the Japanese Economy and Public Finance that such an economy will block the country from falling into stagflation, at a time when the United States, Europe and others are suffering from price surges fanned by Russia's war against Ukraine. It was the first such paper compiled under Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who pledges to bring about "new capitalism," characterized by a virtuous cycle of growth and redistribution driven by investment into people.

The document underscored "the need to shift to a new system featuring sustained and stable price increases of about 2 percent and corresponding wage growth rates." "Given that the economy continues to be picking up and the rate of price increases is not significantly high, Japan is not in a state of so-called stagflation," which involves slow growth and high inflation mixed with high unemployment, it said. The rate of price hikes in Japan is higher than that in the recent past, but it is attributable primarily to surging import prices driven by crude oil prices, said a government official who briefed reporters. Japan has yet to completely exit from long-lasting deflation, the official said.

"To get (the country) out of deflation, it is vital that nominal wages rise in line with price increases and growth in labor productivity," the paper said picrel But since 1997, "The rate of increase in nominal wages has not been enough considering the rate of price increases," it said, citing businesses' cautiousness to expand operations by carrying out major investments in the midst of persistent deflation.

Companies have also regarded wages as costs, not investment in employees, resulting in insufficient distribution of profits. Since the start of this year, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy, such as private consumption, has diminished, while capital investment has shown signs of picking up but is still under pre-pandemic levels, according to the paper.

Fed's Favorite Inflation Indicator Jumps To New 40-Year High, Savings Rate Plunges

The Fed's favorite inflation indicator - PCE Deflator - was expected to accelerate in June and both the headline and core increased significantly (+6.8% YoY and +4.8% YoY respectively) - both higher than expected. The headline print is the highest since 1982. With both the headline and core inflation signals re-accelerating, it appears the 'peak inflation' narrative has busted once again.

The 'inflation' indicator has supported nominal personal spending (even as incomes fail to keep pace - with soaring revolving credit signaling Americans relying on credit cards to get by). Nominal spending rose 1.1% MoM (slightly better than expected) while incomes rose only 0.6% MoM...On a nominal year-over-year basis, incomes grew at 5.7% while spending (again this is nominal) rose 8.4%. Real personal spending managed a measly increase of 0.1% MoM in June, which leaves real spending up just 1.6% YoY. On the income side, both private and government wages saw growth slow in June .Private wages rose 11.2%, down from 11.9% in May and lowest since March 2021, while Government wages rose 4.8%, down from 5.4% and the lowest since Mar 2021. Finally, the savings rate tumbled to just 5.1% - the lowest since August 2009 No, the fact that Americans are borrowing more and saving less is not an indication of confidence - it's an indication of deep-seated stress - which helps explain the record low in consumer confidence.

They, Japanese, have no choice here...they din't say you had to pay in Rubles just a bank change-but it wouldn't matter they could say "pay us in Mexican Pesos" or whatever and they would have to do it

Japan's Sakhalin-2 LNG buyers told to pay bank inside Russia

Japanese importers of liquefied natural gas from Russia's Sakhalin-2 energy project have been told to change how they make payments, instructed to pay a Russian branch of a European bank, sources say, a move likely intended to shield Moscow's LNG revenue from sanctions.

Sakhalin Energy Investment, the operator of the Sakhalin-2 LNG and oil project in Russia's Far East, began asking Japanese gas buyers this month to make the change, the sources said. Payments would still be made in dollars, and LNG supplies will continue without interruption, according to the sources. Western nations have lodged sanctions against Russia since the country invaded Ukraine in February. Sakhalin Energy apparently wants payments switched to an account subject to Russian laws and regulation, ensuring stable access to funds.

At least one Sakhalin Energy buyer, Tohoku Electric Power, has complied with the request. "We're unable to elaborate, but because we received notification of a change, we changed the payee for the transfers," said a Tohoku Electric representative. A representative from Kyushu Electric Power confirmed that the utility received a request to change the payment bank. "We will consider a response while discussing the matter with the government, financial institutions and other relevant parties," the Kyushu Electric representative said.

Sakhalin Energy is led by Russia's state-owned energy giant Gazprom, which holds a 50%-plus-one-share majority in the joint venture. Shell owns about 27.5% of the operation, while Japanese trading houses Mitsui & Co. and Mitsubishi Corp. control 12.5% and 10%, respectively.

Sakhalin-2 produces 10 million tonnes of LNG a year, with 6 million tonnes shipped to Japan. The project accounts for 10% of Japan's overall LNG imports. Hiroshima Gas imports about 50% of its LNG from Sakhalin-2, and Kyushu Electric imports about 20% from the project. Tohoku Electric brings in roughly 10% of its LNG from Sakhalin-2, while Tokyo Gas and Saibu Gas Holdings also are customers.

On June 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a presidential decree to transfer all Sakhalin Energy assets and rights to a new limited liability company. Shell, Mitsui and Mitsubishi have one month after the establishment of the company to decide whether to maintain stakes in the entity.

Dis was just a mater of time-for a multitude of reasons but interdasting they chose the ejection seat as the issue-not the comp'd electronics and not the entire fleet and focus on 'an issue' for one group of them at a time etc

F-35 Fleet Is Grounded by US Air Force Over Ejection-Seat Worries

The US Air Force has grounded its fleet of F-35 jets temporarily, citing a potentially faulty component in the ejection seat that could endanger pilots in an emergency, a problem also grounding other types of military planes that are used in training.

The issue involves the explosive cartridges used inside ejection seats to help propel the seat from the plane during an emergency, Alexi Worley, spokeswoman for the Air Force’s Air Combat Command, said in a statement Friday. The affected aircraft have ejection seats made by Martin-Baker Aircraft Company Ltd., Worley said. The company didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. “On July 19, we began a Time Compliance Technical Directive to inspect all of the cartridges on the ejection seat within 90 days,” Worley said in the statement. “Out of an abundance of caution,” she said Air Combat Command units “will execute a stand-down on July 29 to expedite the inspection process. Based on data gathered from those inspections, ACC will make a determination to resume operations.”

It’s the latest development in a problem found across military services and across different types of planes that have the ejection seats. The Air Force on Thursday decided to ground almost 300 training aircraft over the issue. The Navy and Marine Corps have also sidelined some of their fixed-wing aircraft. The groundings were reported earlier by Breaking Defense and Air Force Times. Only aircraft equipped with cartridges “within a limited range of lot numbers are affected,” the Navy said in a statement this week. The cartridges will be replaced at the aircraft’s assigned squadron and the aircraft will be inspected before its next flight, the service said. So far, 820 F-35s built by Lockheed Martin Corp. have been delivered worldwide out of a potential 3,000 for the US and partner nations. The Air Force is the largest F-35 customer, with 348 of its planned 1,763 planes now in its inventory.

After years of talks, the Pentagon announced earlier this month that it reached preliminary agreement with Lockheed on the next three-year contract for 375 more of the advanced fighters. That contract could be worth about $30 billion, according to a defense official familiar with the negotiations. The Government Accountability Office earlier this year said that F-35 readiness rates for the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps have improved since 2019 but still fall short of program goals.

Russians held around $14 bln in U.S. securities at end-March - c.bank

Almost one third of around 3 trillion roubles ($49.1 billion) worth of foreign securities held in Russians' accounts at the end of March were U.S.-issued, Russia's central bank said in a report on Friday.

Many Russians bought foreign shares in a retail investment boom sparked during the COVID-19 pandemic, using accounts now frozen under Western sanctions imposed after Russia sent its troops into Ukraine on Feb. 24 Central Bank Deputy Chairman Philip Gabunia has said more than 5 million people in Russia have foreign stocks in frozen accounts, with a combined value of more than 320 billion roubles.

At the end of March, U.S. securities accounted for 855.3 billion roubles ($14 billion), or 27% of all foreign securities, which includes bonds as well as shares, the central bank said. Issuers from the United Kingdom accounted for 464.8 billion roubles and Irish issuers for 308.9 billion. National flag flies over the Russian Central Bank headquarters in Moscow

MOSCOW, July 29 (Reuters) - Almost one third of around 3 trillion roubles ($49.1 billion) worth of foreign securities held in Russians' accounts at the end of March were U.S.-issued, Russia's central bank said in a report on Friday.

Many Russians bought foreign shares in a retail investment boom sparked during the COVID-19 pandemic, using accounts now frozen under Western sanctions imposed after Russia sent its troops into Ukraine on Feb. 24.

Central Bank Deputy Chairman Philip Gabunia has said more than 5 million people in Russia have foreign stocks in frozen accounts, with a combined value of more than 320 billion roubles.

The next four countries in terms of volume were Luxembourg, Cyprus, the Netherlands and the Cayman Islands.

"In total, securities from 120 countries are on individuals' accounts," the bank said.

The total volume held increased in 2021 as Russian exchanges launched trading in ever more foreign securities, but the central bank said the deteriorating geopolitical backdrop was reversing that trend this year. The central bank has proposed banning Russians with holdings worth less than $550,000 from buying foreign shares, as a step to protect investors. SPB Exchange, the country's second-largest bourse, has suggested clients' U.S.-listed shares be transferred to a non-trading account due to restrictions imposed by Brussels-based depository Euroclear. Seeking to minimise future risks for retail investors, Russia's central bank has already reduced the maximum leverage they can use.

US Nat Gas Prices Hit 14 Year High As Stocks Fail To Rebuild Fast Enough

U.S. gas prices have climbed to their highest seasonal level for 14 years as hot weather and demand from electric generators has coupled with strong exports to Europe to keep inventories below the pre-pandemic average.

In real terms, front-month futures for deliveries at Henry Hub in Louisiana are trading at more than $8 per million British thermal units compared with over $4 at the same point last year and the highest since 2008. Cumulative cooling demand since the start of the year in the Lower 48 states has been the highest since 2018, according to data from the U.S. Climate Prediction Center. With many former coal-fired electric generators disconnected from the grid or dismantled, high cooling demand has translated into high levels of gas consumption. In the western United States, prolonged drought and reduced hydro-electric generation has further elevated gas use.

At the same time, the United States has became the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) exporter, with volumes increasing by 12% in the first half of 2022 compared with the same period in 2021. Most of the extra LNG has been shipped to Britain and European Union replacing lower pipeline gas deliveries from Russia ("United States became world's largest exporter in first half of 2022," EIA, July 25).

LNG exports have slowed since early June after a fire halted shipments from Freeport's LNG export terminal on the Gulf of Mexico ("Fire causes shutdown of Freeport LNG terminal", EIA, June 23). In the absence of the Freeport fire, inventories would likely be even lower and prices would have risen even higher. Even with the recent slowdown in exports, however, working stocks in underground storage amounted to just 2,416 billion cubic feet (bcf) on July 22 compared with a pre-pandemic five-year seasonal average of 2,802 bcf. Inventories had risen by only 1,034 bcf since the start of April compared with a pre-pandemic average increase of 1,104 bcf ("Weekly natural gas storage report", EIA, July 28). The number of rigs drilling for gas has increased to 155 up from just 104 a year ago, according to data from field services company Baker Hughes, but there has been little further increase over the last six weeks. As a result, gas inventories are on course to start winter well below average, with Europe and Asia still scrambling for LNG, which will likely keep prices elevated.

Elon Musk files countersuit under seal vs Twitter over $44B deal

Musk faces five-day trial in October to determine if he can abandon his deal to buy Twitter for $54.20 per share.

Elon Musk countersued Twitter on Friday, escalating his legal fight against the social media company over his bid to walk away from the $44 billion purchase, although the lawsuit was filed confidentially.

Although the 164-page document was not publicly available, under court rules a redacted version could soon be made public.

Musk's lawsuit was filed hours after Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick of the Delaware Court of Chancery ordered a five-day trial beginning Oct. 17 to determine if Musk can walk away from the deal. Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment. McCormick fast-tracked the case to trial last week, saying she wanted to limit the potential harm to Twitter caused by the uncertainty of the deal. Twitter has blamed the court fight for slumping revenue and causing chaos within the company.

The two sides had basically agreed to an Oct. 17 trial, but were at odds over the limits of discovery, or access to internal documents and other evidence. Musk accused Twitter this week of dragging its feet in response to his discovery requests, and Twitter accused him of seeking huge amounts of data that are irrelevant to the main issue in the case: whether Musk had violated the deal contract. Twitter has blamed the court fight for slumping revenue and causing chaos within the company.

The chief judge in her order appeared to anticipate discovery disputes to come. "This order does not resolve any specific discovery disputes, including the propriety of any requests for large data sets," said McCormick.

Musk also faces a week-long trial in Wilmington, Delaware, beginning Oct. 24. A Tesla shareholder is seeking to void as corporate waste and unjust enrichment the CEO's record-breaking $56 billion pay package from the electric vehicle maker.

SF Bay Area Housing Prices Suffer Largest One-Month Drop On Record

Thanks to a combination of rising interest rates and economic uncertainty, Real Estate in the San Francisco Bay Area have begun to chill, sharply.

In fact, housing prices in the nine-county region suffered their largest one-month drop on record, falling 7% from May to June, with median prices of existing single-family houses dropping from $1.5 million to $1.4 million, according to the San Jose Mercury News, citing the California Association of Realtors. "From this point on we probably won’t see another record price, at least for this year, for either the Bay Area or for the state," said Oscar Wei, deputy chief economist with the California Association of Realtors, who noted that it's uncommon to see such a sharp decline in June - which is typically the busy summer home-buying season.

In the core Bay Area, Alameda County saw the largest monthly price drop of 8% to $1.42 million. That was followed by San Francisco County with a 6% decline to $1.9 million, Santa Clara County with a 6% drop to $1.82 million, Contra Costa County with a 5% dip to $976,940 and San Mateo County with a 3% drop to $2.16 million. Still, Bay Area home prices were up 5% in June compared to the same time a year ago. But some counties did see year-over-year drops, including San Mateo (-5%), San Francisco (-3%) and Contra Costa (-1%). -Mercury News

The sharp reversal comes after Bay Area housing prices soared amid the pandemic, as house hunters with remote work capabilities took advantage of record-low interest rates to engage in intense bidding wars. Now that mortgage rates are hovering around 5.5% for both jumbo and conforming 30-year fixed home loans, and not the 3% one could obtain during the height of the pandemic, the bottom looks to be dropping out of the market.

According to South Bay Realtor Mary Pope-Handy, the reduced demand for homes has caused houses to sit on the market longer as buyers and sellers play a game of chicken. "It’s a lot of everybody waiting for the market to go up or go down," she said, adding "At some point the logjam will break because people still need to buy and sell." That dynamic has likely contributed to home inventory increasing throughout the region. In Alameda County, the number of available listings has nearly doubled since last year.

Paddy Kehoe, a real estate agent with Compass in the East Bay, said active sellers now have to be more thoughtful about how they put homes on the market. “If it is marginally overpriced it’s not going to sell,” Kehoe said. “Today, you have to know 100% what the price should be.” -Mercury News

"Going forward," said Wei, the CAR economist , "we will continue to see some slowdown, but it’ll be in line with the traditional seasonal slowdown rather than the sudden dip in that price shift." (total fuggen hopium here-you obviously are not paying attention to inventory and even though the SF Bay Area is "special"-and this habbens just after the start of the strongest part of the buying/selling season-what habbens in the rest of the country eventually catches up with that on a macro-scale but you keep pushing the mantra that this is "seasonal"-hope you are driving a fuggen scooter by christmas)

Japan OKs smallpox vaccine to prevent monkeypox

An expert panel of the health ministry Friday approved the use of a smallpox vaccine made by KM Biologics, based in the city of Kumamoto, to prevent monkeypox.

Smallpox vaccines are about 85% effective in preventing monkeypox, the ministry said. The government has stockpiled smallpox vaccines as an anti-terrorism measure. The panel approved the KM Biologics vaccine for use in preventing infections with monkeypox and the development of severe symptoms. KM Biologics is a unit of Japanese food and pharmaceuticals company Meiji Holdings.

The World Health Organization is calling on medical workers and others at high risk of coming into contact with monkeypox patients to be vaccinated. The ministry has vaccinated 50 medical workers at the National Center for Global Health and Medicine for research purposes. It has allowed the use of foreign-made monkeypox treatments that have yet to be approved in Japan at the NCGM and three other institutions in the prefectures of Osaka, Aichi and Okinawa. Common symptoms of monkeypox include rashes and fever. Over 18,000 people in 78 countries had been infected with the virus as of Wednesday, according to the WHO.

Patients are mostly infected by coming into contact with the rashes or body fluids of infected people, and most recover naturally within two to four weeks. “Unlike with COVID-19, human-to-human transmission does not occur easily,” the ministry said.

2nd simian captured in Japanese city as injury count from monkey attacks hits 61

The Yamaguchi Municipal Government announced on July 29 that it had newly captured and exterminated a male Japanese macaque in the city's Ogori area, where residents had been bitten, scratched or otherwise injured in a spate of monkey attacks.

The action followed the extermination of a male monkey on July 26. The monkey in the most recent case was the second to be captured and exterminated in the Ogori area. While there have been no new reports of injuries since the second monkey's capture, municipal authorities remain on guard while considering the possibility that there are multiple monkeys causing harm to people. According to the municipal government, at around 9 p.m. on July 28, a monkey entered the hallway of a construction firm dorm in the Ogori area by sliding open a window screen on the second floor. The monkey jumped onto an Indonesian employee in his 20s who was cooking, but the employee held the animal down with his bare hands, and captured it with four other employees, who rushed to help after noticing the commotion. The employee's right arm was scratched by the monkey, but the injury was mild. The monkey was estimated to be 4 years old. It had a body length of about 54 centimeters and weighed 7.2 kilograms. It was apparently bound by rope when municipal workers arrived at the scene.

A total of 61 people in the Ogori area were injured in monkey attacks between July 8 and noon on July 28, according to the Yamaguchi Municipal Government. At least five were injured after noon on July 28, including the male employee.

first of all..sorry to hear that ..not an easy thing for anyone to deal with so you have muh thoughts with ya on that.

dis (QRB) is where you will find me-I don't do any social media and through the good graces of muh fren here he puts the stuff out on TS.

And I am very grateful for that as well

While I can't tell you what is right or wrong for you-I do not know your many variables and personal situation but if it was me and was in that situation you have briefly described I would consolidate those multiple accounts into one or two moar manageable ones-you can do transfers without taking a penalty for doing that. That will make it easier on you as having one account-or you may need two depending on what the contents or those accounts are-I certainly would seek the advice of a tax professional first (I am not that at all-I have had mine done by a large firm for many years (even though I am a very small client) it is totally worth the $ spent to have them do it and stay current with the laws and changes. Plus that entire amount is also able to be written-off as well.

The tricky part is what do you want out of all that...do you want that money "in the system" or under your own control-that is your ultimate issue here-I cannot answer that for you-just tell you what I would do if I was in that situation.

With your brief description if I were you I would ask muhself two questions...1) In a market that is dropping-because you have to plan ahead-they also can keep it propped for a long time (they been doing it with $2T a night for over a year-less total amounts last year but it's up to $2T nao..this is not sustainable) how far do you think the market(s) will fall-we will be dealing with that soon-probably right after the election-don't have a crystal ball and can't tell you what they are going to do and when but you certainly should think about it for when it does habben.

Just because the FED haz a printing press FIAT currency also has a shelf-life they need to have a boom/bust cycle to retain control and 2) what is/are my penalties for taking early disbursements?

The penalty for a traditional IRA is about 10% and have actually already done this-in early 2008 knew it was coming-all the signs were there so I asked muhself those two questions-figured the answer to 1. was moar than 10%-and it was very controlled so it fooled many people-big up and down days but the trend was down decisively and since the answer to #2 was moar than 10% guess what I did with muh IRA?-emptied it and 'took' the 10% hit but prepaid 5% of it upon issuance-the rest of it was written off becasue there are ways to actually mitigate the entire amount but as I said seek a tax professionals help on that-if they have no idea how to do that find another one..ways exist legally I know this for a fact.

I have not had a retirement account since that time period-have made other arrangements

So your ultimate question is who do you want to have control of your asset(s) that you now have a third-party between you and it.

Like I said I can't tell you what is right for you however if I was in that same boat and was widowed would have those assets with very little exposure to third-party control-so that means putting them in a single account for starters and then really asking yourself how much do I trust the systems ability to return them to me should the shit hit the fan and eventually it will and I really believe that those who do not have hard assets in their own possession will not have anything but a promissory note-which is really actually what you have right now even though it may be in cash or invested in what ever it is you have-you have a promise to give it back to you.

This is nothing to take lightly so I'm sorry I can't give you much moar than that but the bottom line is to have as little exposure to any third-party with as much of your assets as possible-this is not possible with homes-but they made homes as assets and basically ATMs with cash-out refis etc.

in a sort of off-the-cuff answer I'd liquidate it all and put it in land and precious metals but that may not work for you

Real proof of life does not exist on her for how long? and the funeral for her husband showed some obviously staged pics imo-just spitballin' here-can see a Di-Fi thing coming on with this and then she has some sort of 'medial emergency in the air or while at one of these stops..heart attack or something that finally puts her sorry ass out of commission publicly even though I think she's been ded for months if not over a year or moar

Regardless of that the AC is heading for SF and I will let you know what it does tomorrow since it will probably spend the night there and leave in the morning local-there is no published schedule of where Nancy is going to be and when so it may be until late tomorrow evening before it even leaves and sometime on Sunday before it arrives in Japan-unless it is going to Malaysia and Singapore first-in that case it will go to Hawaii for a refuel.'

that you are (based on wut little I noes) is pretty good considering.

>Damn gub put limiter on everything.

yes they did the ROTH programs solely for that and then made those precious metals ETFs eligible for inclusion to them-which I found pretty funny at the time and all those were (ETFs of real things ala hard comms) their way of keeping the public away from actually owning the underlying asset-they did a damn good job CONvincing many that you actually own something.

I'd be schtum about any further personal details (at least posting that on a public board)

Russia's Rosatom signs new construction contract for Turkish nuclear plant

Russia's Rosatom has awarded TSM Enerji the contract to undertake the remaining construction work at the $20 billion nuclear power plant it is building in Akkuyu in southern Turkey, the company said on Saturday. Akkuyu Nukleer, a Rosatom subsidiary that is building four reactors at the site on the Mediterranean, said it had signed the engineering, procurement and construction contract with TSM after terminating its agreement with Turkish firm IC Ictas. TSM is owned by three Russia-based companies, according to the Turkish trade registry. "All works under current subcontracts will be transferred to TSM ... Similar new contracts will be signed between TSM and subcontractors," Akkuyu Nukleer said in a statement, without saying why the IC Ictas agreement had been terminated. It said the contract with TSM would ensure work was completed by previously agreed dates and that workers were paid on time. The Turkish government aims to start operating the first reactor at the total 4,800-megawatt (MW) plant before a general election next year. President Tayyip Erdogan has previously suggested that Turkey could work with Russia on the construction of two further plants. The plant is expected to produce up to 10% of the country's electricity once all four reactors are in operation.

Gazprom Halts Gas Supplies to Latvia, Citing Purchase Violations

The Russian gas producer Gazprom PJSC halted supplies to Latvia, saying the Baltic nation had “violated the conditions” of its purchases.

Flows were cut off on Saturday, Gazprom said in a statement on Telegram, without providing details. On Friday, Latvian operator Latvijas Gaze said it would continue to purchase Russian gas through an intermediary. The company said it wouldn’t buying gas directly from Gazprom, and would paying in euros, not rubles. Gazprom has been reducing deliveries to Europe in recent months. Customers, including Poland, Bulgaria, Finland, Denmark and Netherlands, were cut off after refusing to comply with Kremlin’s demand to pay in rubles for pipeline gas. Russia has also been sending less gas via Ukraine, and via the Nord Stream link to Germany, due to a spat with Siemens Energy AG over gas turbines. (This is the German Gov's issue with them playing 'hide muh turbine'-this is not Russia's problem as you knew those had to be sent to Canada for maintenance-so fug off with this "muh Russia BS)

In 2021, about 90% of the gas purchased by Latvia was from Russia, Kommersant says. In June, Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins said that his country don’t intend to continue the imports. It plans to ban Russian gas from 2023.
