Russian oil flows to Czech Republic will resume on Friday -pipeline operator
Russian oil flows to the Czech Republic will resume through the Druzhba pipeline after more than a week on Friday evening, Slovak pipeline operator Transpetrol said, as transit fee payments were unblocked. Supplies via the Druzhba pipeline had been suspended to the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia since Aug. 4 because Western sanctions prevented paying transit fees to Ukrainian transit company Ukrtransnafta, Russian pipeline monopoly Transneft said on Tuesday.

Unification Church-affiliated group commemorates Abe in South Korea
A nongovernmental group affiliated with the Unification Church on Friday commemorated late former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during an international conference, at which a video message from former U.S. President Donald Trump was also played.
At the event organized by the Universal Peace Federation in Seoul, a picture of Abe was shown on a screen with his quote, “Peace is not given by someone. It should be won.” Participants laid flowers to show their respect to the former Japanese leader. Trump said in his message that Abe was a good friend of his and a great person. He also showed his gratitude to Hak Ja Han Moon, widow of the Unification Church founder, Sun Myung Moon. The couple founded the UPF in New York in 2005. “The world was at peace during my presidency,” Trump added.
Abe was fatally shot during a campaign speech in the city of Nara last month. The assailant told investigators that he believed the former prime minister had links with the Unification Church, with whom he harbored a grudge. Abe had sent a video message to an event held by the UPF last September. The Unification Church, now formally known as the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, was founded in South Korea in 1954 by Moon, who died in 2012. The group is now led by Han Moon.
Controversy has swirled since Abe’s murder amid reports of ties between lawmakers of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party and the religious group, which critics say has long employed questionable tactics to elicit donations from members.

Crops Plunge in Chicago as US Report Signals Record Soy Output
Soybeans fell in Chicago after a US Department of Agriculture report signaled this year’s crop could be the biggest ever. The forecast dragged down prices for other crops along with it. Domestic soy production is forecast at 4.531 billion bushels, a record. USDA also raised its soy yield estimate to a record 51.9 bushels an acre, more than the 51.04 analysts expected. That’s because crops advanced more quickly than normal in states such as top grower Illinois, the report said. Overall, good crops in the eastern half of the Midwest offset slower-developing ones in the western half of the region. “Soybeans are pretty much the leader dragging the rest of the commodities lower,” Terry Reilly, senior commodity analyst at Futures International, said in an interview.
This month’s report, known as the World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates or WASDE, is closely watched as it comes in the midst of the US growing season. The data also arrives as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine stoked inflation worldwide and pushed more macro traders into the oft-sleepy grains market.
Soybeans fell as much as 2.3% to $14.1525 a bushel in Chicago, while corn dropped as much as 1.8% before reversing losses and wheat as much as 3.4%

doing ok-Mrs G took doggo to vet-was having some issues with getting around and making some noises when he was picked up (not by me-can't)-turns out he has something similar to me with his back so some meds and low activity-which for this breed is like almost impossible- for a few weeks.
Think his car rides don't do him any good and he resists being strapped in so that may be what causing it so he gonna hang out with dad for a while as the reduced activity is prescribed.
And I am certainly on that regime
yes bigger very active dogs-muh dobies had it but the last one we slowed him down after about age 7 trying to anticipate it and he lasted longer because of that-at least it wasn't really affecting him towards the end like the others-this one a little guy and a ball of energy no matter wut
AF2 USAF C-32A on final at Los Angeles Int'l from Oakland-kneepads vanishes just like Potato..it must be really hard ignoring the border while pushing forth an agenda that NO ONE CARES ABOUT since it is up to the states NOT YOU
Even closer to the border now as it's about 140 miles from LAX to San Ysidro
SAM823 USAF C-40B heading east back to JBA-no reason for this to have traveled to Oakland from SFO-it could have just taken off from SFO when bitch left Oakland for LA
Something interdasting on this..is she even At LAX?
I had LAX LIVE (below) on waiting for the AC to show up and it was not visible-these guys are lined up on 24L/R-cap #3 (which is where AF2 supposedly landed)and almost impossible for them to miss this as it would have flown right over dhere heads.....hmmmm

not easy for sure but easier for owner once you've been through a few watching them deteriorate and you know you can have some say in how it goes since most owners (me included before) would just let them do whatever
Dobies are especially susceptible to this and I learned the hard way
One other observation re: ADS-B have not seen an "ANON" for several months-I have looked at two other sources and they have said the same thing-thought since I no longer sit here for the same amount of time was just missing them-turns out I'm not the only one who notices this
They are not showing any longer so we have 2 possibilities here: pilots were told to stop doing that or ADS-B doesn't allow it-it's one or the other

Mexican President calls for end to beer production in drought-stricken north
On 8 August, at his daily press conference, Lopez Obrador said: “This is not to say we won’t produce any more beer, it’s to say that we won’t produce beer in the north – that’s over…If they want to keep producing beer, increasing production, then all support for the south or southeast.”
The increasing severity of the droughts in Northern Mexico has been particularly noticeable around the city of Monterrey in the state of Nuevo LeĂłn. BenjamĂn Ordoñez-DĂaz, a researcher at the Monterrey Institute of Technology, told The Washington Post that the growth of industry and a population boom have increased demand for water, while climate change has made the weather more erratic and rainfall less likely:“The drought in the past only affected cattle and farmers in the beginning, but in this moment [it] affects families, affects farmers, cattle and all the industries who have been developing in the area”
One of those industries has been brewing. Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma Brewery, a subsidiary of Heineken, has a facility in Monterrey, as well as several others around Northern Mexico. Across all of its sites, it produces approximately 3.09 gigalitres of beer annually, enough to fill more than 1,200 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

California Governor Floats Plan to Keep Last Nuke Plant Open
California Governor Gavin Newsom proposed extending the life of the state’s last nuclear plant in a bid to avoid blackouts during its transition away from fossil fuel power sources.
Under Newsom’s plan, the Diablo Canyon nuclear complex would be allowed to operate as long as 10 years beyond its scheduled retirement date of 2025, his office said Friday. Plant owner PG&E Corp. could also qualify for a $1.4 billion loan to help cover costs (<----this is what it's all about-continually bailing out PG&E and I doubt it will get extended since it's in an area that is way too dem. oriented-central coast CA-but as I've said many times before if you get away from the big coastal cities and into the central valley...CA is more like the mid-west way moar than most think.)
California leaders are racing to protect a state grid that’s faced power crunches in recent summers. The Golden State has closed natural gas-fired power plants in its push to fight climate change, but hasn’t added enough battery storage to balance the renewable power it now relies on. Losing Diablo Canyon the state’s biggest source of around-the-clock clean power could further deplete supplies.
Newsom had once supported shutting down Diablo Canyon’s two reactors, located near earthquake faults on coastal bluff between San Francisco and Los Angeles. But he reversed course this year, citing concerns over the grid’s reliability. The governor’s proposed bill could smooth the path for extending Diablo Canyon’s life and would exempt the plant from some environmental requirements. PG&E has said the state would need to pass legislation if it wants to keep the plant open. The plan would require federal, state and local regulatory approvals, according to Newsom’s office.

There used to be a Nuke plant east of Sacto. (Rancho Seco) but that fell victim to the green bullshit and it only operated for half of it's intended life and they let that one go and decommissioned it but the problem was that they kept pouring money into it to 'upgrade' it when the other electrical sources (powered by natty gas) was half the price so off it went-how valuable would that be now.?... A family member lived nearby this so why I know a little about it
Just another miss-step in the management of this state.that one was NOT located on a fault line but let's give PG&E $1.4B to keep the one located in an active quake area to keep THAT one going.
They also shut down the one on the coast right next to Camp Pendleton-San Onofre-same thing how valuable would that be now?
They had some fear-pron a few years ago about some kid picking up a rock at the beach there and it "burned" a hole in his pocket-it certainly is possible if they screwed that up as bad as they say they did-but I would have thought it would have been several examples not just one if it were really true
here is muh next series of captchas

Ukraine Cut to Default by S&P After Creditors OK Debt-Payment Delay
Ukraine was downgraded to default scores by both S&P Global Ratings and Fitch Ratings after the majority of the country’s bondholders agreed to defer debt payments for two years.
The war-torn nation’s foreign-currency rating was lowered to “selective default” or SD from CC by S&P on Friday. Fitch followed shortly after with a downgrade of its own, cutting Ukraine to “restricted default” or RD from C. The moves follows the approval of a debt-restructuring plan that could save Ukraine about $5.8 billion. “We view the transaction as distressed and tantamount to default,” S&P said in a statement. “Ukraine’s debt restructuring comes amid significant macroeconomic, external, and fiscal pressures emanating from the war.” Fitch echoed that the debt delay constitutes a distressed-debt exchange. In addition to downgrading the nation’s broader foreign rating, however, Fitch did upgrade, to CCC-, local-law foreign-currency issuance due in 2023 that was not included in the exchange
Investors representing around 75% of $19.6 billion worth of the country’s foreign bonds agreed to defer coupon and principal payments until 2024, officials announced on Wednesday. An overwhelming majority of bondholders also approved a request to amend the terms of payments on so-called GDP warrants, which are linked to the country’s economic growth.
The process has been backed by the International Monetary Fund and many of Ukraine’s key supporters, including the US, as the country needs cash for everything from paying pensions to defending against a much bigger and richer aggressor. S&P said Friday it would expect to raise its long-term foreign-currency rating on Ukraine after the restructuring is implemented and the altered bond terms take effect. The firm has a negative outlook on the nation’s local-currency rating as well due to “war-induced macroeconomic and fiscal stress.” Ukraine is rated Caa3 by Moody’s Investors Service.
Separately, Ukraine’s road agency Ukravtodor and power grid NPC Ukrenergoon Wednesday also received approvals from their bondholders for similar debt restructuring deals.
