The Tarot Major Arcana cards 15-19 represent the first five of seven archetypes of spiritual evolution. Card 15, which in the familiar but distorted Rider-Waite deck is labeled "The Devil", is better described as spiritual darkness. Spiritual evolution consists of a journey from dark to light.
The lightning in "The Tower" card represents the first awareness of light; momentary, but enough to initiate the spiritual journey. This is spiritual awakening. Think of the lightning that awoke Saul of Tarsus.
The next stage of light are the faint twinkling stars that provide direction for further spiritual evolution. "And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by." -- John Masefield
Then more light appears in the form of the pale Moon which casts its dim light on a shadowy world. Everything seems white or black, yin or yang, good or evil; a world of duality. We experience the contrast so that we may have a basis to choose. "Cold-hearted orb that rules the night, removes the colors from our sight. Red is grey and yellow, white. But we decide which is right, and which is an illusion." -- Moody Blues
Finally the Sun appears to those who choose light over dark. Its brilliant light dispels the illusory darkness, revealing that All is One. WWG1WGA. "The Sun" archetype is described as a "Significator of Spirit" in the Law of One books. Perhaps connected to the signifier of Q#2347?
