For those of you I was exchanging notes with lb.
Guy's reign was marked by increased hostilities with the Ayyubids ruled by Saladin, culminating in the Battle of Hattin in July 1187—during which Guy was captured—and the fall of Jerusalem itself three months later.
Saladin fought the Crusaders and the final 3rd crusade against King Richard.
Saladin happened to be appointed the Ayyub commander of his fortress in Baalbek.
Ballbek
It is home to the Baalbek temple complex which includes two of the largest and grandest Roman temple ruins: the Temple of Bacchus and the Temple of Jupiter. It was inscribed in 1984 as an UNESCO World Heritage site.
