They said this (paraphrased):

...Crispr unintended effects in human genomic DNA were predictable ... weirdly imprecise results in lab experiments ... never got it to work the way it was supposed to... colleagues discarded uncomfortable results, published only their successful-looking experiments while suppressing any weird contradictory data ... I believe Crispr places the primary template into multiple gene sites, causing null mutations in other genes besides the target one ... others said no, I wasn't using it correctly.

Basis for Crispr-induced recombination was never controllable ... DNA is far more complex than the model acknowledges ... Those promoting Crispr as perfect new tool were motivated by money, greed, fame, glory ... to be first with an effective human gene modification method... long, vicious, high dollar lawsuit as rival labs fought over credit for inventing Crispr...
