If you are playing 5D chess ... so is your opponent.

I've been wrestling with this stuff ever since my teens ... over 50 years. All I know for certain is that the more air you pump into a balloon, the larger the contact surface with the air outside it. If you filled it with knowledge, instead, the result would be the same. The more I know, the more aware I am of the scope of my remaining ignorance.

Just be certain that we are only seeing what we are being shown.

While it may be true, as Heinlein claims, that man is not an insect made to specialize, he also isn't much of a generalist.

God told us not to set up priesthoods and kingships, but we did. So, here we are.

You are who you say you are SO LONG AS the name given is not for the purpose of committing fraud.

That means that you can enter into commercial contracts under the pseudonym so long as you pay your bills.

We seem to be heavily into "Electric Universe" territory here.

https://www.electricuniverse.info/ (for starters). Q does not seem inclined to hinder this research direction (he could post on QR and it would make its way to QRB in short order.) Everything we are doing right now, including the excursion into DNA manipulation, seems to be taking us back to a time prior to recorded history as evidenced in ancient records of an even earlier time.

Either this is an excursion into 7th grade "what if" or we are actually getting below the surface that we were forever stuck on (for 10,000 reasons) on QR.

Okay, it's been at least 60 years since I last read Jules Verne -- maybe it's time for a refresher course?

And, just glancing at windy.com, the USVI are a long way, by wind, from any probable target of a nuclear attack. The winds, in a general way, follow the ocean currents. A nuke dropped on FL would not drop its fallout on the VI until after it got back from Spain by way of northern Africa. Along the way, it would have split twice: once to head up toward Greenland and once to split between Europe and Spain. That's a lot of ocean, and ocean weather, for it to settle out in.

I, personally, found a seam of very small sea shells high up in the Appalachians. I am not a "young earth" kind of guy because I've held the proof in my hands (I dug it out of the seam myself. Other layers nearby were coal.) But I have no problem with a young mankind + older earth model. And, barring the discovery of a cross-over fossil, I'm fine with humans being a clean break from their predecessors. Perhaps we are the result of gene splices? If so, walling us off in "The Garden" while our numbers grew and any necessary trimming was done would make sense. That "trimming" is the scary part -- because it may not be over yet.

When is the last time you opened the case and blew the dust out?

Not such a long shot ... you'd be surprised how often that answer is "never" even with a 5 year old computer. Just blowing the dust out is enough to make wifeanons computer run a LOT better.

Even a laptop needs this once in a while. Moreso if furry pets are nearby.

If nothing else, the electric universe concepts have cool graphics! ;-)

I don't see why only one event at a time should be considered. For all I know, the brontosaurs all went to the same brothel one week and they all came home with syphilis and died.

We should not assume that we are the first intelligent species, the most intelligent species nor even the last intelligent species to occupy this planet. The oil beneath our feet is likely the remains of earlier civilizations constantly churned under by tectonic subduction.

And we're next.

Ahhh, you may not realize it, but you ARE among friends. IRL I have a wife, two sons I seldom see and three grands I almost NEVER see (~2k miles away). Recently I mentioned that my Mom was in a bad way and that I was going to see her while I could.

I then got up to take a whiz. By the time I got back there were FOURTY positive responses, with most either offering to pray or declaring that they already had.

I have gotten through this life with basically zero friends. Those few I did have, one at a time. have, one by one died. I never expected more than one or two responses, but I've been here long enough that I might be recognizable and I was going to be absent for a few days so I thought I'd check out to keep others from perhaps being concerned.

You have friends here, Bud. You will never meet most of them ... but they ARE here.

BTW, Mom was to get an MRI today but the visit (my sons drove from Minneapolis to S. of Atlanta) lifted her spirits considerably. Apparently a long forgotten bone fragment from a fall when she was still a young girl has been impinging on a nerve and making her life a living hell each time she tried to move. So thanks, frenz. Still no definite answers, but there is reason to hope for one. She's 88 and has outlived a son and all of her birth family. We're hoping she's got another decade or two in her. ;-)

Okay, I've now seen 3/4 of the dome. I have yet to see a way to access those air conditioners to service them nor have I seen a means to exhaust the hot air / get cool air to the coils.

Yesterday it was suggested that we were being shown what we were "meant to see". Those AC units were NEVER functional under that dome.

So why were they there at all? (And what are the square structures with what look to be vents at the corners?)
