We had a good system with the pastebin accounts and baker checks, without the need for tripcodes.
If there was no BO/BV able to check an incoming baker, you could post a pastebin with a unique post under your account so not only the outgoing baker but also anons could check.
The current BO and BVs hated this and shilled it out, eventually having NO checks at all.
I still think the pastebin/check system is the easiest and best way.
