tldw: the computers are big BLACK CUBES that "hum" like they are alive, have to be kept at near absolute zero temperatures, and can conceive of multiple outcomes.
G__gle, etc are constantly taking our actions and feeding it into the computers.
The quantum computer knows the outcome of every action - it can "see" multiple upon multiple timelines. What if they took this quantum computer, and put it into a synthetic human? That being would be omnipotent. A god? The "anti-christ"?
Do we already have synths among us? I have witnessed people acting like they are running a computer script, several times at this point. Like in The Sims when you right-click a Sim and then tell them to "go here", if something's in their way they'll just stand there awkwardly, even though there's a path right next to them, because the script didn't tell them to go on that part of the grid and the Sim lacks the human capability of altering their script. Really, really unnerving to see "real" people do that at the grocery store, parking lots, etc. You can stare right at them (I do) and they don't see you, because they're focused on their task of "go here".
