There are some who believe Egyptian artifacts are of modern origin and are fakes. Certainly, academics have motivation to "discover" important artifacts so they can publish articles, receive faculty tenure and grants, and have their name memorialized in museums and text books. Moreover, artisans in 3rd world countries quickly learned that they could receive cash for bringing "found artifacts" to foreign archeologists. This practice has been going on since Howard Carter and before.

I'm not saying all Egypt artifacts are fake, but evidence is growing that some are fake.
