I still think it's a Mahayana Buddhist statue from southeast Asia, probably a Bodhisattva not the Buddha.
Avalokitesvara (one of Buddha's chief disciples), Sri Lanka 8th Century
https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/39222
It has something in common with Indian Hindu statues because of the geographic location and time period, but is clearly NOT Hindu.
Buddhist art often depicts Buddha and Bodhisattvas with a strange headdress which according to legend were snails that crawled up on top of Buddha's head while he was meditating. These snails are depicted as sort of curly hair arranged in several tiers. To Buddhists it's symbolic of the depth of meditation.
Your Hindu goddess is clearly feminine with a breasts, a narrow waist, and feminine hips. The Epstein statue that I ID'd as Avalokitesvara Boddhisatva from Sri Lanka, 8th Century, is male. No feminine features other than sort of a soft chest (but not breasts). He's looking gently down in meditation.
One more thing --
Each of these 3 statutes has its hands in some sort of mudra. A mudra is a symbolic gesture with a well-known meaning.
I'm not up on mudras, but somebody could look it up and find out exactly what it means.
Your spouse is probably quite familiar with this.
"A mudra is a symbolic or ritual gesture in Hinduism and Buddhism. While some mudras involve the entire body, most are performed with the hands and fingers. A mudrā is a spiritual gesture employed in the iconography and spiritual practice of Indian religions."
