There was so. E crude tech I looked into back in the day called TDCS (Trans Cranial Direct Stimulation). It reminded me of this shit and likely is a precursor of it. It required putting 2 elecreodes on the forehead in the same location as these 'antlers'... My guess is that the antler shape is a message not a feature or functionality of the device.
