Q #3436

CBSN report: "Tracking Disinformation on Social Media"

https://youtu.be/hRFHyBXEbhY

Just got a chance to listen to this CNET "expert" reporter Dan Patterson

Hilarious!

Anons have SO much info on this. And Dan has SO little.

Let's get specific, Dan's in green.

>We've been following bots

Nope--no evidence of bots, never has been, just a claim

>Conspiracies have exploded--like Ukraine being behind 2016 election hacking

>But actually, "it was Russia"

hahahaha....

>Qanon narrative, which is "related to the Qanon sub-Reddit"

whoops Dan--producer has to shout in his ear....no it's a message board

>or message board

>Related to Hunter Biden false narrative

Great! We'll get credit on this one....

>Also Pizzagate

Pizzagate was a year b4 Q

>Also conspiracies re HRC running in 2020

Since when is asking whether HRC will run a conspiracy?

>how do i know they're bots? i work with 'data scientists'

Ya mean Jonathan Morgan of New Knowledge?

That guy accused of Alabama election fuckery last Dec? Q 2635)

>i use dashboard from Securing Democracy Alliance

Ya mean bogus tool Hamilton 68?

And did you mean the Alliance for Security Democracy--ASD?

>Part of German Marshall Fund

Yep--we love ASD coz they got great folks like John Podesta on their Board

>GMF = "non-partisan" think tank

Yep--DS from both left & right

>how to counter the "domestic operations that are popping up"

>domestic ops like "2018" Alabama senate election

that's 2017, not 2018, Dan

But gosh--you are actually telling the truth: that the dems got caught influencing an election

It's our fren Jonathon Morgan, who also helped design fake tool Hamilton 68 w/ASD

a man of sterling character

>we can expect to see domestic disinfo operations pop up throughout 2020 election

TRUE. But does Dan realize he just said it will be the DEMS??

Anons dig a huge dig on last winter, Information Warfare archive has all the info: http://archive.fo/BbMxh

Chart shows some of what we found.

>The QAnon Anonymous podcast is quite shilly

It's more than just shilly--it's the center of a disinformation campaign run by Travis View, who just gave a presentation at a StratCom in early Nov. Not sure who is running the conference but probably the Soros-funded Atlantic Council. Supporters: Embassy of Sweden, Google, UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, European Union, some dept in Lithuania (print tiny), and Lennar International.

Just went over the conference speaker list last night. Lots of DS heavy-hitters, from disinformation groups like the Atlantic Council, German Marshall Fund, Graphika, Institute for Strategic Dialogue (has produced a major anti-Q report). People from NATO, the CFR, and Homeland Security (ex-Sec. Kirstjen Nielsen was keynote speaker--she's done events like this before). Travis View talked about the "Qanon conspiracy theory" there on a panel focusing on "example of misleading information."

Mandating vaxxes, banning anti-vax speech & convincing people they're safe: Renee Diresta & Dr. Heidi Larson

11-28-19

First step in upholding the right of people to discuss the pros and cons of vaccination is identifying those who oppose the right to discuss it and promote mandatory vaxxing. Two examples are below.

Renee Diresta

Until recently, was the Director of Research at New Knowledge fake research organization

(known for "muh Russia" agenda & scandal resulting from their online manipulation of voters in the Alabama Senate election in 2017)

(from Qresear.ch #4913840: "Details on Alabama Election Meddling Timeline 3.0").

But she has no scientific degree. Ed = bpolitical science and computer technology (4-yr degrees?)

CFR member.

Co-founded Vaccinate California, which promotes mandatory vaccinations for school children.

Helped pass SB276 and SB714 into law in Sept 2019, which requires health officials to approve requests for medical exemptions to school-required vaccinations

https://vaccinatecalifornia.org/#blog

Dr. Heidi Larson

She studies what makes people vaccines skeptics (like it's a problem of ignorance or mental imbalance).

Just gave a talk at the recent Atlantic-sponsored StratCom conference on this topic.

She's an anthropologist, not an MD.

Founder (2007): Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), Univ. of Washington

Funded by Gates Foundation; grew from 7 to 300; her focus = "vaccine acceptance"

Same panel as someone we know: TRAVIS VIEW (talking about Q as conspiracy theory)

Panel theme was how to change public opinion about "disinformation"

Previous talk: Larson spoke of the "emotional contagion" around vaccine due to social media https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBYzbbwJd0k

Conference blurb:

"Dr. Larson's research focuses on the analysis of social and political factors that can affect the uptake of health interventions and influence policies. Her research group conducts global monitoring of issues surrounding vaccine acceptance, with a focus on identifying emerging issues and advising on risk and rumor management."

----------

Mandating vaxxes, prohibiting discussion, and convincing people they're safe go hand in hand.

Big Brother at work.

Key FREE SPEECH ISSUE.

The battle over free speech & anti-vax speech ban on social media

11-28-19

  • There's currently a battle raging over anti-vax speech. Is it free speech? Michelle Malkin says yes:

http://michellemalkin.com/2019/11/27/fight-for-the-freedom-to-question-vaccines/

  • So does Rob Schneider:

https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/rob-schneider-free-speech-rant-totalitarian-social-media

  • But social media platforms are making it harder & harder to access anti-vax information.

https://www.wired.com/story/facebook-anti-vaccine-crack-down/

https://www.historyofvaccines.org/content/blog/social-media-strikes-back

  • This despite the fact that there is evidence that vaxxes are not all safe:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25057632 [on contaminated polio vaccine; see also "Dr. Mary's Monkey"]

  • But that's not enough for WaPo, which wants social media to take an even stronger stance:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2019/05/23/tech-platforms-must-move-against-anti-vaxxers-now/

  • Other countries wo/a Bill of Rights have already done so:

https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2017/8/3/16069204/vaccine-fines-measles-outbreaks-europe-australiahttps://www.pri.org/stories/australia-imposes-penalties-anti-vaxxers

  • Who is against vaxxes? pri.org article says "racist, radical, far-right political parties."

Ban on anti-vax speech = ban on free speech

Their argument:

  • Anti-vax speech is based on ignorance.

  • It is anti-public health.

  • Thus, it is dangerous and should be banned.

Three pronged attack:

a. ban anti-vax speech

b. promote pro-vax propaganda

c. pass laws mandating vaxxes

IF ANTI-VAX speech is banned, what's next???

Michelle Malkin: Fight for the freedom to question vaccines

follow-up to Rob Scheider's recent comments

11-27-19

Thank you, Rob Schneider. Thank you.

Very rarely do Hollywood celebrities stick their necks out on behalf of the concerns of ordinary parents whose voices have been suppressed by the liberal media, Silicon Valley and the political establishment of both parties. But this week, the actor and comedian used his formidable Twitter platform to stand against the increasing censorship of vaccine skeptics by Big Pharma and Big Tech. This is what speaking truth to power looks like.

With the Overton window on acceptable discourse about government-coerced immunization rapidly shrinking, Schneider’s timing couldn’t be better.

“Free Speech is ALL speech. Even the speech that you find repugnant,” Schneider declared. “We don’t need people deciding FOR us what to think, see or hear. That’s a load of totalitarian crap.” He singled out Amazon “banning books that dare question medical orthodoxy,” as well as “Facebook, Google, (and) YouTube” for burying information inconvenient to vaccine manufacturers, their lobbyists and water-carriers in elected office.....

There used to be a Information Warfare thread on QR, I was OP.

Contained much relevant info even tho it was only set up in March.

Because it was new & there was a lot of info, many posts were mine (others were transferred by me from QR--so looked like mine). BO/BVs did not like that--used it to say the thread was mostly "garbage."

Here's a list of what was there from discussion in META: >>>/qresearch/6480407

It was bumplocked last April and then suddenly deleted over my objections >>>/qresearch/6476526

Archive is here:

Thread was restarted as Information Warfare II on QRB at the end of July, so it would be safe from deletion. It's still brand new, because of deplatforming.

Recent Q posts have focused on information warfare:

>>7553972 Banning Guns Will Not Make Schools Safe

notable

published today

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/banning-guns-will-not-make-schools-safe

Authored by James Bovard via The Future of Freedom Foundation,

School shootings have become the latest pretext for politicians to destroy the Second Amendment.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana, declared in a Democratic presidential candidates’ debate,

“I was part of the first generation that saw routine school shootings. We have now produced the second school-shooting generation in this country. We dare not allow there to be a third.”

Another Democratic presidential candidate, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Cal.), invoked school shootings to justify confiscating millions of firearms across the nation:

“It’s not just the violence that they’ve caused; it’s the fear, the immeasurable fear that our children live in because they are still on our streets. I want to get rid of that fear.”

In reality, despite a tidal wave of misleading propaganda, the number of school shootings has fallen sharply over the past 30 years.

But anti-gun activists in government and the media have done their best to persuade people otherwise.

Last year, the federal Education Department reported that “nearly 240 schools … reported at least 1 incident involving a school-related shooting” in the 2015-16 school year. National Public Radio investigated and found that the feds had exaggerated school shootings by twentyfold; NPR could confirm only 11 incidents. Cleveland was credited with 37 shooting incidents, when in reality it was simply a report of 37 schools that noted “possession of a knife or a firearm.” In DeKalb County, Georgia, “a toy cap gun fired on a school bus” counted as a school shooting. One school system was listed as a shooting locale for an incident involving a pair of scissors. NPR noted,

Most of the school leaders NPR reached had little idea of how shootings got recorded for their schools. For example, the [federal Civil Rights Data Collection] reports 26 shootings within the Ventura Unified School District in Southern California. “I think someone pushed the wrong button,” said Jeff Davis, an assistant superintendent there. The outgoing superintendent, Joe Richards, “has been here for almost 30 years and he doesn’t remember any shooting,” Davis added.

Even the leftist news site Vox noted, “The risk of a child getting killed by someone else at school in 2011, the last year for which there’s final data, was about 1 in 5 million.” Vox again: The rate of “serious violent victimization” among students — rape, sexual assault, robbery, or aggravated assault — was about 1 in 1,000 in 2011, down from 1 in 100 in 1995. In 1995, 10 percent of students were victims of some kind of crime at school; in 2011, just 4 percent were.” Northeastern University criminologist James Alan Fox observed, “We over-obsess about school shootings. Surveys show the majority of students are afraid there will be a mass shooting at their school. These are rare events — scary though they may be, tragic though they may — and we shouldn’t over-respond.”

Imitation shootings

But hard facts have proven no match for sustained hype for antigun activists.

Police and schools have responded to the new paranoia with an array of drills that have been lame-brained even by government standards.

Last January, numerous Indiana elementary school teachers were shot as part of a “safe schools” training program. According to the Indiana State Teachers Association, sheriffs’ deputies ordered teachers “into a room four at a time, told them to crouch down and then shot them execution-style with pellets in rapid succession,” leaving several of them bloodied and many of them screaming. The union complained, “The teachers were terrified, but were told not to tell anyone what happened. Teachers waiting outside that heard the screaming were brought into the room four at a time and the shooting process was repeated.” The union is “is lobbying lawmakers to add [legislative] language prohibiting teachers from being shot with any sort of ammunition” during school-safety drills, according to the Indianapolis News.

Schools are “increasingly turning their hallways into an imitation of a real mass shooting, complete with police officers firing BB guns and drama students enlisted to play victims, made up with fake blood and bullet holes. Occasionally, the drills are sprung on teachers and students without warning,” as a student newspaper in Great Neck, New York, observed. A Pennsylvania teacher commented that she was “more traumatized than trained” after teachers were shot with airsoft guns by a fake active shooter. “We had colleagues shooting colleagues, we had people getting hit with [plastic] pellets.… People were screaming, trying to run. People were tripping over each other. It was just horrendous,” Elizabeth Yanelli recalled.....

Twenty-Five Ways To Suppress Truth: The Rules of Disinformation

by H. Michael Sweeney.

These 25 rules are everywhere in media, from political debates, to television shows, to comments on a blog.

  1. Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil. Regardless of what you know, don’t discuss it — especially if you are a public figure, news anchor, etc. If it’s not reported, it didn’t happen, and you never have to deal with the issues.

  1. Become incredulous and indignant. Avoid discussing key issues and instead focus on side issues which can be used show the topic as being critical of some otherwise sacrosanct group or theme. This is also known as the “How dare you!” gambit.

  1. Create rumor mongers. Avoid discussing issues by describing all charges, regardless of venue or evidence, as mere rumors and wild accusations. Other derogatory terms mutually exclusive of truth may work as well. This method works especially well with a silent press, because the only way the public can learn of the facts are through such “arguable rumors”. If you can associate the material with the Internet, use this fact to certify it a “wild rumor” which can have no basis in fact.

  1. Use a straw man. Find or create a seeming element of your opponent’s argument which you can easily knock down to make yourself look good and the opponent to look bad. Either make up an issue you may safely imply exists based on your interpretation of the opponent/opponent arguments/situation, or select the weakest aspect of the weakest charges. Amplify their significance and destroy them in a way which appears to debunk all the charges, real and fabricated alike, while actually avoiding discussion of the real issues.

  1. Sidetrack opponents with name calling and ridicule. This is also known as the primary attack the messenger ploy, though other methods qualify as variants of that approach. Associate opponents with unpopular titles such as “kooks”, “right-wing”, “liberal”, “left-wing”, “terrorists”, “conspiracy buffs”, “radicals”, “militia”, “racists”, “religious fanatics”, “sexual deviates”, and so forth. This makes others shrink from support out of fear of gaining the same label, and you avoid dealing with issues.

  1. Hit and Run. In any public forum, make a brief attack of your opponent or the opponent position and then scamper off before an answer can be fielded, or simply ignore any answer. This works extremely well in Internet and letters-to-the-editor environments where a steady stream of new identities can be called upon without having to explain criticism reasoning — simply make an accusation or other attack, never discussing issues, and never answering any subsequent response, for that would dignify the opponent’s viewpoint.

  1. Question motives. Twist or amplify any fact which could so taken to imply that the opponent operates out of a hidden personal agenda or other bias. This avoids discussing issues and forces the accuser on the defensive.

  1. Invoke authority. Claim for yourself or associate yourself with authority and present your argument with enough “jargon” and “minutiae” to illustrate you are “one who knows”, and simply say it isn’t so without discussing issues or demonstrating concretely why or citing sources.

  1. Play Dumb. No matter what evidence or logical argument is offered, avoid discussing issues with denial they have any credibility, make any sense, provide any proof, contain or make a point, have logic, or support a conclusion. Mix well for maximum effect.

  1. Associate opponent charges with old news. A derivative of the straw man usually, in any large-scale matter of high visibility, someone will make charges early on which can be or were already easily dealt with. Where it can be foreseen, have your own side raise a straw man issue and have it dealt with early on as part of the initial contingency plans. Subsequent charges, regardless of validity or new ground uncovered, can usually them be associated with the original charge and dismissed as simply being a rehash without need to address current issues — so much the better where the opponent is or was involved with the original source.

  1. Establish and rely upon fall-back positions. Using a minor matter or element of the facts, take the “high road” and “confess” with candor that some innocent mistake, in hindsight, was made — but that opponents have seized on the opportunity to blow it all out of proportion and imply greater criminalities which, “just isn’t so.” Others can reinforce this on your behalf, later. Done properly, this can garner sympathy and respect for “coming clean” and “owning up” to your mistakes without addressing more serious issues.

Anonymous ID: 6eeac2 Dec. 28, 2019, 2:01 p.m. No.40456   🗄️.is 🔗kun
  1. Enigmas have no solution. Drawing upon the overall umbrella of events surrounding the crime and the multitude of players and events, paint the entire affair as too complex to solve. This causes those otherwise following the matter to begin to loose interest more quickly without having to address the actual issues.

  1. Alice in Wonderland Logic. Avoid discussion of the issues by reasoning backwards with an apparent deductive logic in a way that forbears any actual material fact.

  1. Demand complete solutions. Avoid the issues by requiring opponents to solve the crime at hand completely, a ploy which works best for items qualifying for rule 10.

  1. Fit the facts to alternate conclusions. This requires creative thinking unless the crime was planned with contingency conclusions in place.

  1. Vanishing evidence and witnesses. If it does not exist, it is not fact, and you won’t have to address the issue.

  1. Change the subject. Usually in connection with one of the other ploys listed here, find a way to side-track the discussion with abrasive or controversial comments in hopes of turning attention to a new, more manageable topic. This works especially well with companions who can “argue” with you over the new topic and polarize the discussion arena in order to avoid discussing more key issues.

  1. Emotionalize, Antagonize, and Goad Opponents. If you can’t do anything else, chide and taunt your opponents and draw them into emotional responses which will tend to make them look foolish and overly motivated, and generally render their material somewhat less coherent. Not only will you avoid discussing the issues in the first instance, but even if their emotional response addresses the issue, you can further avoid the issues by then focusing on how “sensitive they are to criticism”.

  1. Ignore proof presented, demand impossible proofs. This is perhaps a variant of the “play dumb” rule. Regardless of what material may be presented by an opponent in public forums, claim the material irrelevant and demand proof that is impossible for the opponent to come by (it may exist, but not be at his disposal, or it may be something which is known to be safely destroyed or withheld, such as a murder weapon). In order to completely avoid discussing issues may require you to categorically deny and be critical of media or books as valid sources, deny that witnesses are acceptable, or even deny that statements made by government or other authorities have any meaning or relevance.

  1. False evidence. Whenever possible, introduce new facts or clues designed and manufactured to conflict with opponent presentations as useful tools to neutralize sensitive issues or impede resolution. This works best when the crime was designed with contingencies for the purpose, and the facts cannot be easily separated from the fabrications.

  1. Call a Grand Jury, Special Prosecutor, or other empowered investigative body. Subvert the (process) to your benefit and effectively neutralize all sensitive issues without open discussion. Once convened, the evidence and testimony are required to be secret when properly handled. For instance, if you own the prosecuting attorney, it can insure a Grand Jury hears no useful evidence and that the evidence is sealed an unavailable to subsequent investigators. Once a favorable verdict (usually, this technique is applied to find the guilty innocent, but it can also be used to obtain charges when seeking to frame a victim) is achieved, the matter can be considered officially closed.

  1. Manufacture a new truth. Create your own expert(s), group(s), author(s), leader(s) or influence existing ones willing to forge new ground via scientific, investigative, or social research or testimony which concludes favorably. In this way, if you must actually address issues, you can do so authoritatively.

  1. Create bigger distractions. If the above does not seem to be working to distract from sensitive issues, or to prevent unwanted media coverage of unstoppable events such as trials, create bigger news stories (or treat them as such) to distract the multitudes.

  1. Silence critics. If the above methods do not prevail, consider removing opponents from circulation by some definitive solution so that the need to address issues is removed entirely. This can be by their death, arrest and detention, blackmail or destruction of their character by release of blackmail information, or merely by proper intimidation with blackmail or other threats.

  1. Vanish. If you are a key holder of secrets or otherwise overly illuminated and you think the heat is getting too hot, to avoid the issues, vacate the kitchen.

WAPO: "The coming disinformation tsunami"

Article reveals what WAPO and other news outlet are gonna be pushing during 2020: that 'muh Russia' is true and conservatives are feeding people disinformation. Q is part of the disinfo.

1-2-2020, by Greg Sargent

Let’s review. Since 2016, the special counsel’s investigation and two Senate Intelligence Committee reports have spelled out in great detail that Russian disinformation warfare against the 2016 election was extraordinarily concerted, insidious, broad in scope and deliberately crafted to divide the country along racial and social lines. Numerous top intelligence officials have warned that Russia and other outside actors will strike again.

The entire Ukraine scandal, for which Trump has been impeached, is largely about disinformation. Trump extorted Ukraine to get it to announce public statements that would smear Biden with disinformation and help validate conspiracy theories that Ukraine, not Russia, interfered in 2016.

In effect, Trump was trying to pressure a foreign power to help manufacture more disinformation to help mislead U.S. voters about a domestic political opponent and absolve Russia of its original disinformation warfare campaign against this country.

Trump has retweeted accounts from the far-right conspiracy theorist QAnon. What’s more, Trump and his prominent supporters have played an active role in spreading disinformation against Democrats. After a conspiracy theory falsely connected former presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke to the recent Texas mass murderer, shadowy but prominent Trump allies amplified the claim.

Trump himself recently retweeted a tweet from one of his favorite conspiracy theorists — whose work he has promoted in the past — that falsely created the impression that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) partied on the anniversary of 9/11. And remember that distorted video of Nancy Pelosi slowed down to make her look drunk?

All this is a sign of what the Democratic nominee could face. It’s no wonder that some Democrats are worried we might even see “deepfake” media manipulations. Imagine such ultra-sophisticated video distortions of Biden’s rambles, retweeted by Trump, and perhaps even by reporters.

Trump views disinformation not as a scourge to be combated in the name of protecting our democracy, but as an ally. In this particular case, Trump has not retweeted the video of Biden — yet. But let’s try to learn from this.

At this point, no good-faith actors can pretend there is any excuse for playing any role, even an unwitting one, in making this problem worse.

This year, Facebook announced takedowns of properties attributed to Twinmark Media Enterprises, a digital marketing company in the Philippines, and Nic Gabunada, the social media director for Filipino President Rodrigo Duterte’s 2016 campaign. In both cases, Facebook said the operations were engaged in “coordinated inauthentic activity.”

Gabunada previously insisted in an interview with BuzzFeed News that the Facebook engagement for Duterte’s campaign had been “organic” and “volunteer-driven.”

As previously reported by BuzzFeed News, some politicians who had decried Duterte’s use of fake Facebook accounts and trolling in 2016 had used social media manipulation services in their own campaigns.

CAMPAIGN 2020 Billionaire Who Bankrolled Faulty App in Iowa Democrat Caucus Also Funded Sabotage Ops in 2017 Alabama Senate Race: Reid Hoffman

This Silicon Valley technocrat is notorious for funding shady political operations.

Big League Politics has reported about Acronym, the political organization that is behind Shadow Inc., the tech firm that made the faulty app that caused massive delays in reporting the Democrat results of the Iowa caucus.

Acronym is closely tied to South Bend, IN Mayor Pete Buttigieg and the failed campaign of Hillary Clinton, and it is funded by Silicon Valley oligarch Reid Hoffman. Hoffman has a history of funding shady social media operations, which makes it incomprehensible that a firm funded by him would be tasked with securing electoral integrity for the all-important Iowa caucus.

Hoffman, who founded the popular networking portal LinkedIn, has frequently funded campaigns to manipulate voters using technology. As the Democrats accuse the Russians of running disinfo ops to influence elections, one of their richest backers actually does it, gets caught doing it, receives with no repercussions, and is given an opportunity to do it yet again. Hoffman’s top henchman is Dmitri Mehlhorn, who used to promote privatization of schools before he joined the dark side.

SORRY FOR DUPLICATE >>41001

Moar on Reid Hoffman & Dmitri Mehlhorn

This is the SECOND TIME Hoffman has been involved in a failed Dem political project. Why do his projects fail?

Here is another article on Hoffman and Mehlhorn:

Group That Sabotaged Iowa Caucus Begun by Billionaire Backer of Alabama ‘False Flag’ Campaign

Mehlhorn excerpt:

Having fostered friendships with nationally known Silicon Valley oligarchs like right-wing libertarian Trump supporter Peter Thiel and Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Hoffman, the founder of LinkedIn, is now making his name as a top sugar-daddy of the Democratic anti-Trump resistance.

Following Trump’s election in 2016, Hoffman plowed his money into an array of new Democrat-aligned social media groups through a funding hub he founded called Investing in US.

To run Investing in US on a day-to-day basis, Hoffman tapped Mehlhorn, a venture capitalist and political strategist used to walking the line between the corporate world and Democratic Party.

“There was no risk-capital or growth-capital arm of the resistance, and so that is what we’ve tried to build,” Mehlhorn told Vanity Fair. “Now, in terms of what that implies, that implies that we are backing founders, so people who we think have big, potentially game-changing ideas.”

Mehlhorn’s career path tracked closely with neoliberal party favorites like Buttigieg and Cory Booker. He studied at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, launched his career at McKinsey Associates, and became a leading advocate for school privatization as the chief operating officer of Michelle Rhee’s StudentsFirst.

Dmitri Mehlhorn

According to Mehlhorn’s bio, he sits on the board of American Prison Data Systems, a company that claims to reduce recidivism by giving prisoners tablets to study coding for five hours a day.

Mehlhorn is also an advisor to the Democratic group DigiDems, which Buttigieg’s 2020 presidential campaign paid $1540 for technology services.

In a 2018 Medium post, announcing the “founders” that Investing in US planned to back, Mehlhorn resorted to distinctly neoconservative talking points to emphasize the mission of his organization.

After quoting Ronald Reagan, he declared, “Trump and his movement, borrowing heavily from other authoritarian criminals such as Hugo Chavez and Vladimir Putin, promised to hollow out America’s principles in favor of his own personal enrichment.”

Pledging to “inoculate our politics and our economy against corruption, white nationalism, and mass deceit,” Mehlhorn announced major donations to “diverse groups” with names like Woke Vote, PushBlack, and an “anti-Nazi” organization known as Integrity for America.

Among the top recipients of support from Investing in US was McGowan’s Acronym, which Mehlhorn described merely as a “media group.”

As The Grayzone reported, Acronym has ballooned since its founding into a massive dark money operation, even launching a Super PAC dubbed Pacronym that has raked in money from hedge fund billionaires like Seth Klarman and Donald Sussman.

MSM Articles on Q and 8chan: ~1530 articles thru December 2019

End of Year Report

There are now over 1500 MSM pieces on Q (mostly articles with a few videos). By far, the greatest number of hit pieces were published in August (440), when 8chan was deplatformed after Cloudflare refused to provide DDoS protection & the situation deteriorated from there. The focus since Aug 5 deplatforming was more on 8chan (and later 8kun) than QResearch until December, when 8chan articles took a complete dive. Good news, because it reflects the fact that 8kun is running well (despite ongoing challenges) and is no longer newsworthy, at least for the moment. Articles on QResearch are also pretty "plain vanilla" (and no news is good news).

MSM Articles on Q and 8chan: ~1700 articles Jan 1 2020 thru March 2020

QUARTERLY Report

The MSM has been writing on Q since Dec. 2017, although it really picked up in March 2018 when Roseanne endorsed Q. August 2018, MSM launched its first major attack. But the biggest attack was indirect: the 8chan deplatforming in August 2019.

Since 8kun got replatformed in Nov, the focus shifted back to attacking Q. MSM articles continue to be 95% negative, with a couple of exceptions by more sympathetic pubs (American Thinker and Zerohedge--AT's Jan. 2020 article was picked up by ZH). It also apparently elicited an attack:

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2020/01/hackers_targeted_american_thinker_after_it_put_up_a_post_about_q.html

But there are still small signs that Q is becoming viewed as more mainstream. Jesse Waters' casual mention in December helped "normalize" the movement (and he didn't get attacked too badly, although NYT did respond predictably). Some of the winter articles lament this normalization--good news for Q's.
