is this a slide? You can't jump from 7.25 per hour to 15 per hour . Plain and simple! You kill America's main street. This is an absurd debate. All employees who have been working for years and receiving $.50 per hour increases will be immediately brought to 15 ( based on theory ) They will be in a pay scale of new hires yet they have years of experience and knowledge. Do you then raise their pay to a level proportionate to their experience? Do you demoralize years of hard work and dedication by giving them equal pay? Pay some hard working employee that has been with you for years the same amount as some snot nose brat who is entitled to equal pay because Liberals want to destroy the America as we know it? Minimum wage at $15 dollars DOES NOT mean 15 to employers! This shit is meant to tear down the economy and cause everyone to be on Government assistance. All are equal to one. One control s all that happens with this.
That rant being said................ It is unconscionable to have tipped employees paid at a rate of $2.90 per hour because they get tips. This has been the case since 1980's. There have been changes in the late 80's. Tipped employees started being required to account for 8% of their sales ( as if they were tipped) The 8% sales amount has been deducted from their checks ( even if they never received a tip from that customer )
There is no excuse for paying less than federal minimum wage! Tipped employees have addition duties to make a restaurant run smoothly. The cleaning is extensive and usually takes a couple of hours of a shift ( no tips being made ) $2.90 per hour should be a jail able offense. Instead it is used to beat down people who are already beaten down.
