Come now to the Feelz Bar

Where dwells the Graveyard Crew

Crunchin' on some munchies

And knockin' back a few.

Just find a comfy corner

To catch up on the news

There's no time like the present

To chase away the blues.

The fireside tables beckon

Come sit now by the flame

With frens from every country

Where no one knows your name.

We fight for love of nationhood

For freedom, God and home

But now refuel, to find renewal

Raise a glass of beery foam!

Alas, I did not pen this noble work.

There have been a few others tho.....

This one seems apropos for the time at hand.

Anons at Night

Inspired by

Frost's "Stopping by Woods

on a snowy evening"

and all of our frens

Whose posts these are

I do not know

Their salty prose,

inspires me, tho

They will not know my ID here

For I am anon, just a bro.

The glowing shills

They flame and prance

Provoking, taunting

on they dance.

But anons dig and meme and pray

They turn away

Without a glance.

When Q is here

we do collude

And gather round,

In gratitude.

Our troubles fade

We do recall

What brought us here

What was the Call.

Do not hold back,

But rather fight

Til dawn doth break

Its edges bright

We'll not despair

Throughout the night

For nothing stops

The power of Light.

We've always had poetry as part of what we do here--poems can be satirical memes. They make us laugh and raise spirits, too.

Doggerel:

Crudely or irregularly fashioned verse, often of a humorous or burlesque nature.

An epithet originally given to a kind of loose, irregular measure in burlesque poetry, like that of “Hudibras,” but now more generally applied to mean verses defective alike in sense and in rhythm.

This characterization suggests a less than positive view of our patriotic poems, anon.

''"All work and no play,

Makes Jack a dull boy."''

(and there is no duller a boy than @FJ at the moment....)
