Accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein injured in federal jail in New York: NBC News

Accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein was found injured in his cell in a federal jail in lower Manhattan, NBC News reported Wednesday night.

Officials do not know now whether the wealth financier Epstein tried to hang himself, if he staged a suicide attempt, or if he was assaulted, according to sources.

The former friend of Presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton is accused of sexually abusing dozens of young girls at his New York and Florida residences in the early 2000s.

Accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein was found injured in his cell in a federal jail in lower Manhattan, NBC News reported Wednesday night.

The wealthy financier Epstein, who was arrested in early July in federal charges, was on the floor of his cell in a fetal position when he was discovered, sources told NBC.

He was semi-conscious and had marks on his neck when he was found.

Epstein may have tried to hang himself, according to sources who spoke with WNBC-TV.

But another source said that Epstein’s injuries were not serious, and raised the possibility that he may have used the incident to obtain a transfer from jail.

A fourth source who spoke with NBC said that officials have not ruled out the prospect that Epstein was assaulted in the Metropolitan Correctional Center .

Another inmate in that jail, where Epstein is being held without bail, has been questioned about the incident.

NBC reported that the inmate questioned is Nicholas Tartaglione, a former Orange County, New York, police officer who was arrested in December 2016 and accused of killing four men in an alleged cocaine distribution conspiracy and then burying their bodies in the yard of his upstate home.

Spokesman for the Metropolitan Correctional Center, the U.S. Bureau of Prison and he U.S Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, which is prosecuting Epstein, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. CNBC has also reached out to Epstein’s lawyers requesting comment.

Epstein, 66, was indicted this month on charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.

A judge last week denied him bail of upwards of $100 million because of his possible danger to women if released, and his risk of flight due to his vast wealth.

Epstein’s lawyers on Monday notifed Judge Richard Berman that they plan to appeal his bail denial.

Epstein, a former friend of Presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, has pleaded not guilty in the case.

Prosecutors say he sexually abused dozens of underage girls from 2002 through 2005 at his New York City townhouse and Palm Beach, Florida, who visited him under the guise of giving him massages.

Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to state prosti

Accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein was found injured and in a fetal position in his cell at a Manhattan jail on Wednesday, according to sources cited by NBC News. Investigators are reportedly still trying to get to the bottom of what happened, but the wealthy sex offender was said to have been semi-conscious when he was found.

After initially being put into the general population at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, Epstein had been moved to solitary protective custody after other inmates had threatened him, a source familiar with his conditions had previously told The Daily Beast.

Two sources cited by NBC said he may have attempted to hang himself, while another source suggested the injuries were so minor that he may have simply been trying to get himself transferred. An assault has also not been ruled out, with a fourth source saying a former police officer serving time on drug and murder charges has been questioned.

The New York Post, quoting sources, said Epstein had injuries to his neck.

Epstein’s lawyers did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Epstein has been locked up at the federal Metropolitan Correctional Center since he was arrested July 6 after arriving back in the United States from France.

He asked to be released on bail and put on house arrest at his $77 million Manhattan mansion, offering to pay for security cameras and armed guards and to let a “trustee” live there with him.

But U.S. District Judge Richard Berman shot down the request earlier this week, finding that Epstein was a flight risk and unable to control his sexual urges. Epstein’s team has since filed papers to appeal that decision.

Jeffrey Epstein found nearly unconscious in NYC jail cell after possible suicide attempt

By Larry Celona and Kenneth Garger

July 24, 2019

Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was found in his cell on Tuesday nearly unconscious with injuries to his neck after a possible suicide attempt, sources said.

Epstein was discovered by guards sprawled out on the floor at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, where he’s being held without bail on sex-trafficking charges, according to law enforcement sources.

The billionaire financier was taken to a nearby hospital.

It’s unclear how Epstein suffered his neck injuries.

Investigators believe Epstein may have done it to himself either on purpose or as a ploy to get transferred out of the jail, sources said.

It was also possible that Epstein was attacked by another inmate, the sources added.

Epstein was busted July 6 on sex-trafficking and conspiracy charges for allegedly sexually abusing underage girls at his Manhattan townhouse and his $12 million estate in Palm Beach, Fla., between 2002 and 2005.

He’s pleaded not guilty to the charges and appealed a judge’s decision to keep him behind bars pending a trial.

Judicial Watch Files Congressional Ethics Complaint Against Ilhan Omar For Possible Perjury, Immigration Fraud

7/24/2019

Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch filed a complaint with the House of Representatives’ ethics office asking for an investigation into possible crimes committed by Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar.

The possible crimes include “perjury, immigration fraud, marriage fraud, state and federal tax fraud, and federal student loan fraud,” according to the complaint filed Tuesday by Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton.

“The House of Representatives must urgently investigate and resolve the serious allegations of wrongdoing by Rep. Omar,” Fitton said.

“Substantial, compelling and, to date, unrefuted evidence” supports the allegations, he said. “The evidence developed against Rep. Omar was the result of a three-year-long investigation in both the United States and the United Kingdom by Mr. Steinberg and his investigative reporter colleagues Preya Samsundar and Scott Johnson. It is supported by information gathered from public records, social media postings, genealogy databases, computer forensic analysis, unaltered digital photographs, discussions between the investigative reporters and the subjects of the investigation themselves, and information supplied by confidential sources within the Somali-American community.”

“Documented-based reporting by Steinberg, et al. has developed the following information: Rep. Ilhan Abdullahi Omar, a citizen of the United States, married her biological brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, a citizen of the United Kingdom, in 2009, presumably as part of an immigration fraud scheme. The couple legally divorced in 2017,” Fitton wrote.

Omar gave birth to children fathered by another man, Ahmed Hirsi, both before and during her marriage to Elmi. Legal documents such as speeding tickets demonstrate that she lived with Hirsi during the entirety of her marriage to Elmi.

Omar requested a “default” divorce from Elmi in 2017, an unusual proceeding used where one spouse has disappeared and cannot be located. To obtain a divorce, Omar filed the below papers with the Minnesota district court swearing under penalty of perjury that she last saw him in 2011 and had no clues about how to contact him through other people.

She swore that she didn’t know the name of a single member of her husband’s family, and that they didn’t have any friends or acquaintances in common who might know how to locate him, according to papers she filed with the Minnesota district court. She swore she tried to locate him through social media but could not, even though he had public profiles on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Screenshots additionally show Omar continuously interacting with him on social media in the years since.

Al Franken ‘absolutely’ Regrets Resigning in 2017 Due to Sexual Assault Allegations

Former Sen. Al Franken participated in his first interview since leaving the United States Senate in late 2017 with the New Yorker. Franken states that he “became clinically depressed” after being pressured to resign and feels deep regret for making that decision.

Former Sen. Al Franken resigned in late 2017 after multiple women came forward and accused him of unwanted touching and kissing. One of the women, Leeann Tweeden, even had photographic evidence to support her claims.

On Jul. 22, the New Yorker came out with a lengthy article titled The Case of Al Franken that documented the sexual assault accusations made just a year and a half earlier.

Seven current and former senators, including Senator Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) and Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), came forward and stated their regret for calling on Franken to resign. Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg has also stated that he “would not have applied that amount of pressure” to Franken’s resignation.

When asked if he regretted his decision to step down as Senator in 2017 he replied “Oh, yeah. Absolutely.”

Progressives were divided over the article when it came out on Jul. 22. One liberal pundit and Minneapolis resident tweeted in response to the piece: “whatever sympathy you feel for Franken, please spare a thought today for all the women who see Mayer’s piece and decide again that the story of the powerful man who made them feel cheap and small isn’t worth telling; he is more important than she is.”

Now, Al Franken is 68 years old and lives in congressional district 5 which is represented by Ilhan Omar. Franken’s website is still active and on it he states “also, Trump. Since I left, I’ve had so many folks ask me to re-enter the fray. Fray, here I am!”

'Facebook investors shrug off $5B fine, as critics blast FTC'''

By Megan HenneyPublished July 25, 2019''

Facebook

Opens a New Window.

agreed to pay a record $5 billion fine for privacy

Opens a New Window.

violations and faces an impending antitrust investigation by U.S. regulators, but shares climbed in premarket trading on Thursday, allayed by better-than-expected earnings.

The social media behemoth revealed in its quarterly earnings report

Opens a New Window.

that both the Federal Trade Commission and the Justice Department have opened antitrust investigations into its practices, separate from Facebook’s earlier settlement

Opens a New Window.

with the FTC.

That deal, announced early Wednesday morning, included requirements for Facebook to create an independent board tasked with overseeing company-wide privacy-related efforts and CEO Mark Zuckerberg to personally certify that the company is meeting the FTC’s requirements on a quarterly and annual basis. A false statement could result in civil penalties or even criminal charges.

It ended a more than year-long probe into whether the tech giant violated a 2012 order -- in which the company promised to protect consumers’ information -- about privacy after it inadvertently allowed political consulting firm Cambridge Analytica to access the personal data of millions of users.

“We’re making some major changes to how we build our services and run this company,” Zuckerberg said during an investor call. “This will require investing a significant amount of our engineering resources in building tools to review our products and the ways we use data.”

Yet investors seemed mostly unfazed by Facebook’s latest rough patch, buoyed by strong second-quarter earnings. The business continues to grow rapidly, reporting a 28 percent rise in revenue, compared to last year. It also estimated there were more than 2.7 billion monthly users across all of its apps, up slightly compared to the first quarter.

At the end of trading on Wednesday, the stock was up almost 4 percent, trading at $204.66 per share. Shares were up almost 59 percent in 2019.

But a bipartisan group of critics noted the $5 billion fine, while one of the highest penalties in privacy enforcement actions, is merely a blip for the sprawling company, which is worth more than $584 billion. In fact, Facebook posted its quarterly revenue of $16.6 billion on Wednesday -- more than three times the penalty.

According to The Washington Post, the FTC originally considered penalties worth tens of billions of dollars, but stopped short, settling for less after Facebook fiercely resisted its demands, worried about the possibility of a lengthy lawsuit.

“This is a joke,” Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren wrote on Twitter. “Facebook repeatedly violated users' privacy and this settlement imposes no real individual accountability and no major structural changes to the company—only a fine that's a fraction of what Facebook makes in a year.”

Likewise, Rep. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., warned the settlement was nothing more than a pricey Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card that did little to change systemic practices already underway at Facebook.

“This settlement does nothing to change Facebook’s creepy surveillance of its own users & the misuse of user data,” he said. “It does nothing to hold executives accountable. It utterly fails to penalize Facebook in any effective way.”

Justin Sun's lunch with Warren Buffett uncertain following cryptocurrency entrepreneur's apology

Cryptocurrency

entrepreneur Justin Sun

Opens a New Window.

apologized on Thursday for ”over-marketing” and postponing his charity lunch with Warren Buffett

Opens a New Window.

, putting into question whether the expected meet-up would actually occur.

The Chinese digital currency investor wrote in a post on Weibo — a microblogging site equivalent to Twitter in China — that he bid on a lunch with the Berkshire Hathaway CEO because he admired Buffett’s philanthropic commitments and wanted to advocate for the blockchain industry.

"I cannot deny that I want to promote blockchain-related business at the same time. However, because of my immature words, behavior, youth, and vigor, I spoke without thinking twice," Sun wrote in his post that appeared on Weibo just before 3 a.m. Beijing time Thursday. "It became a failing of over-marketing that was out of my control. It also generated a much-unexpected outcome on me."

Sun was scheduled to meet with Buffett on Thursday in San Francisco after the 29-year-old, during a charity auction in June, placed a record-breaking bid of $4,567,888 to have a private lunch with Buffett. The lunch would have been interesting given that the billionaire has repeatedly slammed cryptocurrency, even saying bitcoin has “no unique value at all” in a February interview with CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”

“It attracts charlatans,” Buffett said. “If you do something phony by going out and selling yo-yos or something, there’s no money in it — but when you get into Wall Street, there’s huge money.”

Luckily for Sun, Buffett did tell CNBC that blockchain has potential. The Chinese entrepreneur said in a previous news release that he was looking forward to talking to Buffett about it.

By Monday, however, Sun’s TRON Foundation posted a tweet saying the lunch was postponed

Opens a New Window.

because Sun was suffering from kidney stones. The foundation said both Buffett and Sun agreed to reschedule the lunch — but the postponement caused others to speculate whether the 29-year-old was in trouble with Chinese authorities.

Some believed Sun was barred from leaving China and possibly under house arrest. Chinese media reports added fuel to the rumors after claiming Sun’s companies were being investigated for illegal fundraising and money laundering, The Wall Street Journal

Opens a New Window.

reported.

On Tuesday, Sun shot down rumors by going live on Periscope for about 9 minutes to show he was in San Francisco, Calif., and not in China. He told followers who tuned in that he was “feeling better” before panning the camera to the view of the Bay Bridge from a room. He reassured viewers that his lunch with Buffett will be rescheduled.

Sun later tweeted, “I feel so much better now! It seems I will be back to work with full speed on this Friday!”

Sun wrote in his Weibo post on Thursday that his self-promotion spiraled out of control and negatively impacted the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry. He apologized to regulators for the concern he caused.

"For the elders, leaders and regulators who care about me, I would like to express my sincere apologies to my premature marketing and words and deeds! I am deeply afraid of the adverse effects caused! I am young, not deeply involved in the world, and the blockchain belongs to the emerging industry,” he wrote in a Weibo post.

He added that he will rest to recover from his illness and post less on social media.

“In everything I do, I will discard my own selfishness, and put the interest of the country, the industry and the public first,” Sun wrote.

It’s still unclear if and when the charity lunch will occur.

America's dirtiest beaches ranked, report

By Hayley RiemanPublished July 25, 2019

A new report from Environment America ranks the dirtiest beaches in the United States, warning about dangerous bacteria found in the water. The study surveyed more than 2,000 beaches across 29 coastal and Great Lakes states, where it found a bacteria in the water that causes illnesses in up to 75,000 people per year.

“It’s not about trash, it’s about the water,” Fox Business’s Jeff Flock said, “On at least one day last year, more than half of those beaches had a bacteria level that’s enough the EPA

says to make you sick” Flock said.

The report cited that fecal material accumulates in the water, either from humans or animals, through urban runoff, sewage leaks, and livestock operations is a primarily contaminator.

“Sites were considered potentially unsafe if bacteria levels exceeded the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

Opens a New Window.

’s most protective ‘Beach Action Value’ threshold, the level at which the agency estimates is 32 out of 1,000 swimmers will get sick from swimming in these waters,” Enviroment America stated in the study.

According to the report, swimmers who come in contact with the waste are susceptible to ear and eye infections, skin rashes, or even worse including gastrointestinal illnesses and respiratory diseases.

“All regions can implement solutions to prevent pollution from being created in the first place, or to keep pollution from reaching the waters where our families go to swim,” the report stated.

Breaking down the pollution by region, The Gulf Coast beaches are seen to have the most pollution, with 85 percent of their beaches unsafe for at least one day in 2018. The next most unsafe region is the Great Lakes, and following is the West Coast, at 75 percent and 67 percent along the coast. Finally, the East Coast is the least dirty with almost half of their beach sites labeled 'unsafe' at 48 percent for at least one day in 2018.

Here is a list of the top five worst beaches in America due to high bacteria counts:

  1. Gulfport East Beach, MS --- 44 days or 67 percent of the 66 days sampled were unsafe

  2. Tanner Park, NY --- 48 days or 68 percent of the 71 days sampled were unsafe

  3. Bay View West, OH --- 48 days or 69 percent of the 70 days sampled were unsafe

  4. Cole Park #3, TX --- 52 days or 81 percent of the 64 days sampled were unsafe

  5. Inner Cabrillo Beach, CA --- 85 days or 49 percent of the 175 days sampled were unsafe

The Caribbean island's armed forces and public ministry said earlier in the day that McAfee was taken into custody along with U.S. citizens Elizabeth McAfee and Richard Alan Gibson, Robert Whitfield of Germany, Oral Thompson of The Bahamas and Vasner Louis of Haiti.

They were suspected of traveling on a yacht carrying high-caliber weapons, ammunition and military-style gear, officials said.

5 key takeaways about the state of the news media in 2018

By Michael Barthel

Every year since 2004, Pew Research Center has issued an assessment of the state of the news media, tracking key audience and economic indicators for a variety of sectors within the U.S. journalism industry. Here are some key findings about the state of the industry in 2018:'''

  1. U.S. newspaper circulation reached its lowest level since 1940, the first year with available data. Total daily newspaper circulation (print and digital combined) was an estimated 28.6 million for weekday and 30.8 million for Sunday in 2018. Those numbers were down 8% and 9%, respectively, from the previous year, according to the Center’s analysis of Alliance for Audited Media data. Both figures are now below their lowest recorded levels, though weekday circulation first passed this threshold in 2013.

Digital circulation for daily newspapers is harder to track. It did rise in 2018, though not enough to fully reverse the overall decline in circulation.

Revenue from circulation was steady in 2018, but ad revenue for newspapers fell 13%, according to an analysis of Securities and Exchange Commission filings. Though some national publications have seen growth in revenue and in digital subscriptions over the past few years, the newspaper sector overall continues to face challenges.

  1. Cable news was a bright spot in another down year for the U.S. news media industry’s economic fortunes. Revenue rose 4% over the past year for Fox News, CNN and MSNBC combined, according to estimates from Kagan, a media research group. That made cable news one of the only sectors with a revenue increase in 2018.

Cable news revenue has grown by roughly a third (36%) since 2015, with ad revenue up 58% over the same period. And unlike some other sectors that typically see revenue declines in non-election years, cable news has been on a steady rise since the 2016 election. Some of this revenue has flowed back into newsroom spending, which has risen 22% since 2015. However, employment in cable TV newsrooms has not risen, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data, and neither have wages.

Google Punishes Whistleblowing Engineer with Administrative Leave

By Corinne Weaver | July 25, 2019 9:18 AM EDT

The hive known as Google is quick to punish those who undermine its authority.

Hours after Google engineer Greg Coppola appeared with James O’Keefe in a Project Veritas video, he was put on administrative leave by his company. In the video, Coppola said that he believed that Google News and Google’s search engine algorithms were biased. He also claimed that CEO Sundar Pichai’s testimony to Congress in December 2018 was not “true.”

Google has chastised those employees who have gone against its agenda. In 2017, Google fired engineer James Damore after he wrote a memo about the company’s “ideological echo chamber.” In 2019, Republican engineer Mike Wacker was fired after he complained about the hostile attitude in the corporate culture toward conservatives.

If Coppola is let go, he will be the third public victim of Google’s inherent bias toward conservative engineers. Coppola openly admitted in his interview with O’Keefe that he “liked Trump and liked his policies.” He stated that the search engine relies too much on biased news outlets to feed its users negative news on Trump.

According to Coppola's GoFundMe, he expects that Google will "probably fire him." He plans on publishing more on tech in the upcoming months.

O’Keefe tweeted that Coppola “went public because he believes people need to hear about bias from someone who works there.” O’Keefe noted that in his interview, Coppola said “positive things about Google.”

Google is under fire from all sides, however. The company is the subject of one of the Department of Justice’s antitrust investigation.

Jim Jordan: If the FBI Can Spy on a Presidential Campaign, Imagine What They Can Do to You

7/25/2019

During former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's testimony on Wednesday, Republican Congressman Jim Jordan pointed out the double standard Mueller's team applied to the Trump campaign and the Clinton campaign during the 2016 presidential election.

Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz is expected to released the findings of his investigation into the origins of the FBI probe surrounding the Trump campaign. The results are expected to be damning and will potentially expose FISA court abuse, in addition to spying, against private American citizens.

During an interview with Fox News Wednesday night, Jordan stressed this point and warned that if the FBI can spy on those working for presidential campaigns, they can spy on anyone.

"If they can do this to the President of the United States. If they can go spy on two people, two Americans associated on his campaign based on this idea that there was some conspiracy which know now is completely false, if they can do this to the President, imagine what they can do to you and I?" Jordan said. "For Bob Mueller not even to look at that or answer any questions about that, not even want to look at that, that's a big concern."

As Jordan mentioned, U.S. Attorney John Durham has been appointed by Attorney General Bill Barr to further investigate improper behavior at the FBI and Department of Justice during the 2016 presidential election and beyond.

Ginsburg: A Senator Once Said I'd Be Dead in Six Months

Cortney O'Brien

Posted: Jul 25, 2019 7:30 AM

Age is but a number, was Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's message on Tuesday. In a new conversation with NPR, the 86-year-old Supreme Court justice suggested that neither her age nor her health are going to slow her down. And she's had her share of scares, including three bouts of cancer and broken bones. It's all apparently given a few of her critics a chance to wish for her speedy demise.

Once, when she was battling pancreatic cancer, Ginsburg said a male senator (who she did not name) said she'd be dead within six months. She returned that message with some humor.

"There was a senator, I think it was after my pancreatic cancer, who announced, with great glee, that I was going to be dead within six months," Ginsburg recalled during the NPR discussion. "That senator, whose name I have forgotten, is now himself dead, and I," she added with a smile, "am very much alive."

Ginsburg took a spill last year in her office and suffered a few broken ribs. While at the hospital, doctors discovered cancer cells. Her prompt surgery following the discovery removed the cancerous nodules. A decade earlier, she beat pancreatic cancer.

Democrats will like to hear that RBG plans to stick around, but they may not like her other comments on the future of the Court. A fair number of the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates have left the door open for expanding the court beyond the traditional nine. Beto O'Rourke has mentioned a number as high as 15.

“What if there were five justices selected by Democrats, five justices selected by Republicans, and those ten then picked five more justices independent of those who chose the first ten?” O’Rourke said in March. “I think that’s an idea we should explore.”

New Survey Shows How Many Americans Believe 'The Squad' Represents Views of Dems in Washington (And It's Not Good For the Left)

New Survey Shows How Many Americans Believe 'The Squad' Represents Views of Dems in Washington (And It's Not Good For the Left)

Earlier this month House Speaker Nancy Pelosi attempted to downplay the influence "The Squad" has in Washington, noting “they’re four people and that’s how many votes they got.” But a new Morning Consult survey suggests they are reaching beyond “their public whatever and their Twitter world.”

According to the survey, 40 percent of registered voters believe Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN),

Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) represent the views of Democrats in Washington, while 58 percent believe Pelosi represents the views of Democrats in Washington.

The Morning Consult analysis notes that given this finding, “it might be prudent for Democrats to distance themselves” from the freshmen lawmakers, who’ve been in Washington less than seven months.

Republicans, however, are working hard to paint “The Squad” as the face of the Democratic Party ahead of the 2020 election.

When National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) recently sat down with reporters in Washington to discuss the lay of the land for taking back the House, he framed the 2020 election as a “choice between socialism and freedom,” and dubbed House Democrats as the “new Red Army of socialists.”

Like President Donald Trump has done in his repeated attacks on four Democratic congresswomen — Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) — Emmer sought to elevate the freshman lawmakers who call themselves “The Squad” as the face of the Democratic Party after six months in which they have attempted to push the debate on Capitol Hill to the left.

“It’s my strong belief that voters want nothing to do with this agenda — this socialist agenda,” Emmer said at a July 18 breakfast, criticizing policies such as “Medicare for All” and the Green New Deal that are being pushed by House progressives and some of the Democratic presidential contenders.

The focus on socialism is a strategy playing out across the country as Trump campaigns for four more years in the White House and Republicans fight to take the gavel back from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). (Morning Consult)

Last week, President Trump said he was winning the political fight with "The Squad" and said the Democratic Party is going "so far left they're going to fall off a cliff."
