Didn't see your post, baker, but good practice for me. This is Baker 2 (FRB), never had much practice with Q drops bc I baked nightshift so much. Finally getting the hang of it.
Also looks like GraphicsAnon is back with fresh dough changes, taking the opportunity to point it out.
The second time I baked in March, Q posted. But it was just 3 posts in the middle of the night my time, so when the bred "speeded up," it was still slow!
After that, there was one other time at the end of a bake and I had already arranged to hand off.
Third time was in June, and all kinds of crazy stuff habbened--like "body too long" on page 1 (now I make sure the old drops get consolidated). Also, could not post the notables b4 baking bc anons were posting to say hi to Q. So Q posted above the dough. Alas.
Another time, when I was behind on baking, a shill baked a second bred, even tho I was only 10 secs behind him, Q posted in shitty bread (and it was shitty, didn't have all the pages, kek--but did have a bunch of bird pics right after q posted, somebody had fun). So of course that became the "official" bred.
Getting the formatting down cold will really help bc it takes time to format all the drops for the bred, time I didn't have. One of those breds was about 21 minutes--and with captchas to boot.
Yeah--like hours. BC Thursday's were confusing. I was using QR as a guide and discovered they missed one drop and duplicated another. So was able to make a contribution back by letting them know.
Searching on "disney cruise excursions little st james 2019" brings up the info on 2018, I see. Maybe no excursion to LSJ for 2019?
Did find this material on Ledges of Little St James. Beginning dive site (why Disney would feature it prolly).
And a FB page for the island--prolly has been dug to death--lots of refs to white rabbits, warnings to stay away ("not for kids"), but who knows?

Baker, i have to tell you, i don't self nom much bc i don't digg much now, just bake. but when i bake, I often add sauce, capts for Q posts or pngs in addition to jpegs--which usually gets me a thanks for a phone-fagger who couldn't really manage it. (Always keep the original post to give credit, people contribute however they can with whatever equipment they've got.)
The truth is that anons and bakers who are very active here have "you's" up the yin-yang bc everything in the bred has to be updated pretty often.
The problem IMO isn't really "You"s or no "you's," it's diggers digging on something that they know is important and then not being able to convey that to bakers, either due to their own difficulties with getting the message across or baker not being interested (or at least SEEMING interested). And then of course there are shill bakers who ignore stuff on purpose (but less often than one might think).
My approach is to focus on the work (getting info out of the highest quality) but also being very supportive of diggers, always trying to give credit where credit is due. Was a digger long before i was a baker, so I really appreciate everything they do.

Ok, here's some "general orientation" stuff re baking.
BAKING has three parts:

Baking the bread"

Making dough repairs.
1. Creating notables list (bun)
QRB is great for learning this, bc of long breds. We always need note-takers who do not need to know how to bake, just to read posts and pick out ones that seems especially timely or useful. See baking instructions for tips or just look at what other bakers have done. Learn to format here:

2. Baking the bread
This is the process of creating a new thread and adding all the "dough" pages at the top, and the "dough" post (with pastebin info so baker can download).
Start by practice baking in /comms/ where you shadow the baker in QRB (maybe taking some notes too). Baker can check your bake and give feedback.
3. Making repairs/changes to dough
At first, this is a little confusing. But no worries. Just ask for help from a more experienced baker. Or tell the poster asking for dough changes that you don't know how to do this yet and he'll keep his eye out for a baker who can do it.
Baking has both objective and subjective elements, no way around that. Each baker has a different background and sense of what matters. No matter how fair someone tries to be, perfect objectivity is unattainable. (Even true in science.)
The desire to be fair and to exercise discernment goes a long ways, imo. Also to ask questions and being willng to say "I don't know." And--being willing to make mistakes, too. Anons will always tell you if they think you're off-base. (So will shills, and in spades--hence the need for discernment, kek.)
None of us is perfect, we just do the best we can with what we've got.
QRB makes it possible to have conversations like this. Really enjoying the bunker these days. Thanks again, BO, for board sanity!
And yet, there are many things anons sort of expect bakers to routinely pick up without a notable nom (e.g., breaking news items, planefag/boatfag reports, etc.). After exhorting anons to nom notables many times, I have concluded that a number of anons have other foci--diggers dig, memists meme, prayers pray. Very happy when anons nom notables--and especially when they package them and check qresear.ch to boot! But that doesn't always happen.
My alternative plan is ALWAYS to ask for anon feedback when posting notables (except when q is posting, kek). I figure this is when anons can ask me to add stuff or tell me off for listing something from 2015 coz i forget to check the date (or whatever). Works pretty well most of the time (except with shills, who always give feedback at @700, kek).
I practiced for almost a month, anon. Take your time, there's no rush.
