I was actually referring to the professional content creators holding the copyrights. Aggregating an audience in an increasingly fragmented world is hard as it is. If you start threatening to sue people for being into your material, people will just walk away further. Content creators want buzz/viral marketing.

 

While there are cases they would be justified in addressing infringement, shutting down harmless/playful actions will just hurt their viewership/readership. IMO.
