Can't sauce it peeps...sorry

Going from memory of an old posting.

I remember it stating, people should not be surprised that there are personal warehouses/storage units, filled with cases of books the author themselves, or someone affiliated with them, bought up in mass quantities so it could be claimed to be 'popular' to the unsuspecting masses and therefore promote a particular author who is either not a writer, but employs a ghost writer for their claimed works, needs to gain a popular agenda footing, or other reasons, like using books to launder dirty money. The article stated this tactic was way more prevalent then originally thought. The article seemed to point to some of the big [so called] Christian pastors as an example of using this MO.

Also, the "Best Seller List"...has nothing to do with the popularity of the author nor how good the book is. This is where I was disappointed, because I thought a Best Seller was due to the book being very good, [I am a avid reader]. Not so it seems.

But a committee decides who, the author, or what book title gets to be on the Best Seller list. Not by content merit. Very political.

So is Cankels/Big Mike buying their own books up?
