Is split boards really the best way to foster unity amongst anons?

I awoke this morning (EU Anon) to a shit storm and quickly found my way over here and the other board where 8bit posted his renunciation of fastjack and the BVs (looks like AFLB is back on board).
I was immediately on the back foot and do not support fastjack in this latest imposition of his way or the highway in any shape or form.
A notable thread is, unto itself, not a bad idea. Populating it with multiple anon complied buns, scrutinised and vetted by the mod squad is worrying at the very least and deeply inconvenient if you are phonefagging as you cannot just simply scan the bread highlights quickly and easily.
I would say that the vast majority of anons do as I and scan the notables back to the last time they were "logged in". As such, not including notables at the top of the bread is nothing more than cutting off your nose to spite your face! They should be there!
I have been on the board on and off throughout the day and night but I just do not want to even be there any more; the vibe is down right nasty.
I admit that I feel a certain amount of disequilibrium at the the moment and a great deal of antipathy towards the board in general and I bet that I am not alone in that.
What now?

I would be willing to bet my anonymity that the Q team member scanning the boards is not human.
