Solution: Get that previous bread you're trying to display via hover into cache, by opening it in a tab. Then hover should work.
Regularly, at least once an hour, refresh the current page OR open an image from the current bread in a tab (CTRL-Click for firefox).
There's some kind of hourly cookie rotation that the Vanwa DDoS-mitigation and Content Delivery Network (CDN) are doing.
Also if you are using a VPN, you'll need to reload the page or refresh an image (less costly of bandwidth/time) regularly and every time you change IP address.
It works, it's not broken, the way it functions is not ideal but at least it mitigates DDoS attacks.
I would assume that CM will eventually solve this annoying usability issue.
