I recommend the book Parapsychology: The Controversial Science (1991) as an introduction to the science of the paranormal, even though it is outdated now. Thanks for dropping that link here. I wasn't aware of BDAnon. I took several hours to read the archive of his posts, which he is still adding to. Lots of intriguing revelations, if true; some have already been more or less confirmed. Most notably, the pursuit of Soleimani and the predetermined targets in Iran.

But what intrigued me most was his reference to Asimov's Foundation Trilogy. He suggests reading that to understand what is going on behind the scenes in the "wild" sense.

The trilogy (PDF attached) happens to be my all-time favorite science fiction story, which I read again just a year ago. It won the Hugo award as the best all-time series in 1966. I don't want to give away too much of the plot, but the Second Foundation is a hidden group of psychics that guide galactic civilization by gently nudging it at key moments. The First Foundation is highly technological and has almost religious faith in its founder Hari Seldon, also the founder of the statistical science of psychohistory which he used to map out the future before he died. But Seldon knew that statistics has its limits and so also created an invisible guiding force to intervene when civilization drifts off-course.

Asimov's concepts foreshadowed Chaos Theory and Complexity Science, which became of academic interest to me when they first appeared, enough so that I contributed to the new field. I was inspired to become a scientist in the first place by Asimov's tome The Intelligent Man's Guide to Science, a sweeping survey of all of science from the sub-atomic to the super-galactic realms, and from the cell to the human brain. Asimov was a professor of biochemistry at the Boston University School of Medicine, aside from being one of the greatest and most prolific science fiction writers ever.

The chaotic aspect of complex systems account for the existence of sensitive points that respond disproportionately to even gentle stimulus, popularly known as the Butterfly Effect. What if intuitive/psychic abilities could be used to identify, then nudge a sensitive point of a complex system such as society? This is exactly what the Second Foundation did and what BDAnon's group may be doing right now. A "wild possibility"?

It seems to me that the classical scientific method has already had to stretch to accommodate quantum theory. Classically, experiments had to be repeatable, by anyone, in principle. But quantum phenomenon are inherently non-repeatable, except in a statistical sense (at least when observers are passive). I suspect that science will stretch again to accommodate paranormal phenomena.
