About
Dr. Stephanie Psaki is Senior Advisor on Human Rights and Gender Equity at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). She is public health leader with expertise in the intersections of gender, health, and economic empowerment, and a member of the World Health Organization/UNESCO Research Working Group on COVID-19 and Educational Institutions. Dr. Psaki was previously director of the Girl Innovation Research and Learning (GIRL) Center at the Population Council, which advises governments and philanthropies on evidence-based investments to expand opportunities for young people around the world.
She holds a PhD from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a Master of Science degree from the Harvard School of Public Health. She has worked in diverse low and middle-income settings, including Burundi, DRC, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Niger, South Africa, Tanzania, and northern Uganda.
