China Huarong Delays Release of 2020 Results Past April Deadline
China Huarong Asset Management Co. said its 2020 earnings results would be delayed past an April 30 deadline, potentially further fraying investors’ nerves after mounting worries over potential defaults by the state-owned bad-debt manager caused a meltdown in its bonds.
The company’s auditors need more time to finalize an unspecified transaction before it can publish the results, according to a statement posted on Chinamoney.com, which is run by China Foreign Exchange Trade System. Huarong reiterated that its operations are stable and all lines of business are running normally. The firm, China’s largest distressed-asset manager, missed an earlier March 31 deadline to announce preliminary results, also saying that its auditors needed more time. The company’s shares have been suspended since April 1.
China Huarong’s initial delay of the announcement stoked concerns over its financial health and kicked off an almost two-week plunge in its dollar bonds. Three major credit firms, Moody’s Investors Service, Fitch Ratings and S&P Global Ratings, have put the company’s debt rating on review for a potential downgrade. The Hong Kong stock exchange, where the shares are listed, has a deadline of April 30 for companies to file final earnings results. Market worries eased after reports that Huarong made moves to pay off bonds maturing in April. Earlier, Bloomberg reported that the company proposed a sweeping overhaul which includes offloading its unprofitable, non-core businesses to revive profitability and avoid the need for a debt restructuring.
China’s Ministry of Finance, Huarong’s biggest shareholder, is considering transferring its ownership stake to Central Huijin Investment Ltd., a unit of the nation’s sovereign wealth fund, a person familiar with the matter told Bloomberg earlier this month. China is also considering a plan that would see the central bank assume more than 100 billion yuan ($15.4 billion) of assets from China Huarong to help the company clean up its balance sheet.
Huarong is one of four state-owned entities set up by China in 1999 to help manage bad debt in the country’s banking system. The firm listed in Hong Kong after a $2.5 billion initial public offering in 2015, giving it a market value of more than $15 billion. Its shares last traded at a third of that. Under former Chairman Lai Xiaomin, Huarong expanded into areas including securities trading, trusts and other investments, deviating from the original mandate of disposing of bad debt. But it has faced challenges since Lai came under investigation in 2018. He was executed earlier this year for bribery after a brief trial, an unusually harsh sentence for such a crime.
The company owes bondholders the equivalent of $41.8 billion, with $16.9 billion of that falling due by the end of next year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Huarong reported a 92% drop in net income for the first half of 2020 as the value of some assets fell in wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Biden and Putin eye possible June summit: Kremlin aide
Russian President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden may meet in June, RIA news agency reported on Sunday, citing a Kremlin aide, amid simmering tensions between Moscow and the West.
The foreign policy adviser, Yuri Ushakov, said a firm decision on the meeting has not been taken yet. "We will take a decision depending on many factors," Ushakov, the Russian ambassador to the United States from 1998 to 2008, was quoted as saying. Separately, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, cited by RIA, said on Sunday that Biden's proposal for the summit has been received "positively" and is now under consideration.
Earlier this month, Biden called on Putin to reduce tensions stirred by a Russian military build-up on Ukraine's border and proposed a summit to tackle a raft of disputes. The Kremlin said at the time that a summit would be contingent on U.S. behavior, reportedly telling Washington to scrap a plan to impose new sanctions on Russia. Russia-U.S. ties slumped to a new post-Cold War low last month after Biden agreed when asked in an interview if he thought Putin was a "killer" and Moscow recalled its ambassador to Washington for consultations. Despite Moscow's protests, the United States this month imposed a series of new sanctions against Russia for alleged interference in the 2020 U.S. election, cyber-hacking, bullying Ukraine and other acts it deemed malign.
Putin took part in a virtual climate summit hosted by Biden last week.

3rd state of emergency takes effect in Japan
Japan's third coronavirus state of emergency took effect in Tokyo and three western prefectures on Sunday. It remains to be seen whether 17 days of restrictions will be enough to curb the spread of the virus. Bars and restaurants that serve alcohol or offer karaoke are being asked to close, along with shopping malls and other large facilities. This department store in Tokyo has been shut down, apart from floors selling food and other daily necessities. Matsuya Ginza's official said, "The upcoming weeklong holidays are crucial for our sales. It was an extremely difficult decision to close most of the store." Some parts of Tokyo remained busy with people going shopping or sightseeing. A man in his 20s said, " There are still so many people. They aren't taking the state of emergency seriously anymore."
The Tokyo Metropolitan government reported over 635 new infections on Sunday, marking a week-on-week increase for the 25th straight day. The western prefecture of Osaka continues to be the largest hotspot in the country. Officials reported 1,050 new cases on Sunday, topping 1,000 for the sixth day in a row. The 180 shops in this underground arcade were closed when the state of emergency took effect.
In the ancient capital of Kyoto, temples and shrines have shortened their opening hours. The minister in charge of the coronavirus response wants people to avoid non-essential outings. The government is also taking steps to accelerate the vaccination program. It plans to set up large vaccination centers in Tokyo and Osaka next month. Doctors and nurses from the Self-Defense Forces will be deployed to help vaccinate up to 10,000 people per day.

568 kts or 653 MPH..not hanging around.
wut up frb
also did da bun
yes it can be refueled in the air and that feature will not be on the new ones coming in 2024/5-why they chose to omit that is puzzling but as far as I know it has never been done while a POTUS is on and in air.
Quite why they have a tanker circling when there is no AC to 'refuel' is still a question I habs.
They are using Marine One for the short trips so they would need to board that and fly to Andrews.
It's SOP to have aerial refueler on stand-by as you are already aware but I did not see an AC take Joe to Delaware yesterday and the schedule still not updated from Friday.
On one occasion they actually brought the AC back to JBA for two days then back on Monday morning.
Almost posted something similar about this yesterday but wanted to wait to see if they actually use an AC to bring him back later tonight or tomorrow morning.
>reports on tankers
There are always some tankers up and whether they are actually refueling or not is difficult to ascertain just looking at them.
>some of that in general is just inexperience was that way too when I started
Most of them are refueling fighters and larger AC such as the examples I've show with the BUFF recently and several ones with the Nightwatch over COUNS (plus the one I caught over the atlantic when the Sec. of Defense returned from last trip aboard TITAN25).
back to the tanker(s)-they only let us see the tankers and have never seen an actual fighter and tanker 'hook-up' on the scope.
In fact most of the time the fighters are not visible but they are there.
The issue I see is that there is no AFC to refuel for Not AF1 Joe as he arrived on Marine One.
I do not know if that has a refueling capability as the one they use now is brand-spanking new-I would guess it does.
As far as distances go..all that thrown out with military AC's imo.
had some decent rest too.
Few and far between with the phyzz shit.
Last week kicked muh butt with just me around but that life
kek
Most of this shit is lingering from the old injuries which is frustrating cause I want to be busy and that limits it
Starting to sound like some old fart nao too
