Some stuff about AF1 and AF2

Joe is AF1 for the first time....we still had Kneepads who departed twice from JBA on Sunday without AF2 as a call sign. Imma guessing that over the last week or longer some negotiations were held (on wut topic idk for sure..not there) but speculating that the AZ audit result is grinding on to expected release on June 14th-Flag Day and 45's B-day so that could very well have been the subject -there are many right? The keeper of the call sign (or higher up most likely) didn't like the answers they got so kneepads left on Sunday w/o AF2 and did not get it back until last night-see crumbs below

Kneepads leaving on Sunday without AF2call sign (was SAM462) and only getting back last night tells me that something was agreed to yesterday and the call sign was returned to kneepads on the trip back from Mexico CIty. It was categorically NOT AF2 on last nights departure-still SAM462...See here >>61310, >>61344, >>61375 pb

Those crumbs have the caps and backup for the trip that started so poorly on Sunday for Kneepads having to return to JBA-at no time was it ever AF2..not on the first depart(Middle Cap on .. >>61375 pb) nor the second. Both departs for her and those stupid cookies were SAM462 and SAM471 was the AC that had the problem and forced both to return

Obviously if kneepads call sign restored then we had the answer this morning as to whether that would apply to Not AF1 Joe...it did. >>61437 pb

Also interdasting that they chose to use 09-0017 C-32A SAM46 as the escort AC and not the other 747 tail #92-9000 which is still MIA btw.

The other missing AC is tail #98-0001 as used as primary AF2 for many years-prior to 45/Pence.

Please see the Planefagging 101 thread for additional information on both of these AC's

AF1 is any USAF ACthat POTUS is aboard and piloted by an AF pilot...it has some variations if on Marine, Navy, Coast Guard Army and private AC's

below has all the ones used

The Military and Air Force One

Up until 1976, the Marine Corps and the Army shared responsibility for Presidential helicopter transportation. Marine One is Presidential Call Sign that is also generally recognized by the public. This indicates that the President is flying on a Marine Corps aircraft โ€“ Marine Two is used for the Vice President. When Army helicopters were/are used, the call sign Army One was/is for the President and Army Two for the Vice President.

Since 1976, the Marine Corps has sole responsibility for Presidential helicopter transportation and currently uses either a VH-3D Sea King or a VH-60N "WhiteHawk".

The Navy One and Navy Two call signs are used for Navy aircraft. Thereโ€™s only been one use of the Navy One call sign โ€“ a Lockheed S-3B Viking (BuNo 159387) used to fly President George W. Bush in 2003 to USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72).

The Coast Guard One callsign has not yet been used, but Coast Guard Two was used once when Vice President Joe Biden used an HH-60 Jayhawk in 2009 to view the Atlanta Area that was flooded.

If it happens that the President is using a civil aircraft, the call sign for that craft would be designated Executive One, and if it is the Vice President, then it would be Executive Two. The only President actually in office to make use of regularly scheduled commercial airline flights since the establishment of Presidential Transportation was President Nixon in 1973 during the energy crisis. A notable exception to this was the use of a military helicopter in 2009, when it took aboard President George W Bush after his term in office had expired โ€“ the helicopter used the Executive One call sign.

On the topic of commercial air lines, if the president's family members are aboard, but not the president himself, the flight can (if it is determined by the White House staff or Secret Service to be necessary) use the call sign Executive One Foxtrot (โ€œFoxtrotโ€ indicating โ€œfamilyโ€). For the family of the Vice President, the call sign would be Executive Two Foxtrot.

>so sup?

The pilot typically has discretion to produce the call sign in military AC's

Unless of course the higher ups say something else.

There was a ZOMBE call sign over Joe when he gave the address to Congress and that has not been seen since that time.

pilot must of had a talking to

There is no law that sates these have to be used-merely a system of correct identification for Air Traffic Control (ATC) and also doing so allows the airspaces to be closed and opened for those AC's with high priority call signs to ingress/egress.

Check out the pdf at the bottom of that article.

It's 729 pages long

https://www.faa.gov/documentLibrary/media/Order/ATC.pdf

The start of it here

This order prescribes air traffic control procedures and phraseology for use by personnel providing airtraffic control services. Controllers are required to be familiar with the provisions of this order that pertain to their operational responsibilities and to exercise their best judgment if they encounter situations not covered by it.

SEC Launches Review Of High-Frequency Traders' Market Abuses

Nearly 8 years have passed since Michael Lewis published "Flash Boys" (highly rec'd but dry read), raising awareness of the relatively new practice of high-frequency trading and its transformative impact on markets, allowing the most technologically-advanced traders to effectively see a picture of the market that's nanoseconds ahead of what their non-NFT peers see, giving them a massive advantage.

Now, the SEC is finally considering changing the rules of how stocks are priced and traded to stop exchanges from incentivizing brokers (nowadays, particularly retail trading brokerages that have seen an explosion of activity in the past couple of years).

The news has slammed shares of HFT market-makers including those of Virtu, the biggest electronic market-maker. Virtu Financial, Inc. (VIRT)29.17-2.29 (-7.28%)

As of 2:28PM EDT. Market open. Citadel, the hedge fund that has a separate market-making business that purchases order flow from Robinhood, also could be hurt by the new rules.

A few months ago, after Robinhood and its rivals cut off trading in Gamestop, prompting the stock to crater (as thousands of furious GME bulls claimed), we explained how Robinhood receives payment from Citadel and a handful of other major HFT market makers allowing them to front-run retail order flow and guarantee profits. In fact, one could argue that this relationship makes Robinhood a de facto subsidiary of Citadel. The surge in meme stocks has benefited Robinhood by helping it pocket millions more from selling orderflow to Citadel, Virtu, Two Sigma, Wolverine and other HFT frontrunning "market-making" venues, as well as Citadel which made billions by having an advance look at the biggest surge in retail stock and option orders flow in history, and being able to trade ahead of and around it.

In 2014, SEC Commission Chairman Mary Jo White unveiled a sweeping set of initiatives Thursday to address mounting concerns about the impact of computer-driven trading on the stock market, including proposals that would extend oversight of high-frequency traders and dark pools. Little came of this, and the efforts were shelved during the Trump Administration, until today, when Biden's SEC chairman Gary Gensler revealed that the agency is planning to propose new rules during an industry conference on Wednesday. During his talk, Gensler offered a broader explanation of market structure than he had previously described. Gensler, who took over the SEC in April, has previously questioned the system that results in many individual investorsโ€™ orders being routed to large broker-dealers known as wholesalers, such as Citadel Securities and Virtu Financial instead of first being reported to public exchanges, where the orders are recorded and made public. "The question is whether our equity markets are as efficient as they could be, in light of the technological changes and recent developments," Mr. Gensler told the Piper Sandler Global Exchange and FinTech conference. Speaking on CNBC Wednesday afternoon after the news broke via WSJ, Chairman Gensler discussed the dangers of "gamification" and also explained why payment for order flow "is not free trading". "Somebody is paying for your or my order flow...it is zero commission...but not necessarily free."

All of this is coming at a particularly sensitive time for Robinhood, which is set to IPO in July. The company could be worth up to $40 billion, according to Bloomberg Intelligence.

Mexico's president taps finance minister to head central bank

Mexico's President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said on Wednesday that he will propose finance minister Arturo Herrera to replace Bank of Mexico chief Alejandro Diaz de Leon when his term at the central bank expires at the end of 2021.

Economist Rogelio Ramirez de la O will be named to replace Herrera, Lopez Obrador said on Twitter, in what will make him the third finance minister the president has had since he took office at the end of 2018. Ramirez is a longstanding adviser to Lopez Obrador and was his pick for finance minister when he first ran for the presidency in 2006, an election he narrowly lost.

Herrera, a former World Bank executive, took on the job of finance minister in July 2019 after his predecessor abruptly quit, offering strong criticism over the direction of policy.
