Maybe Zyklon-B is a red herring and it actually doesn't work.
You never know exactly what happened back then, in any case I have no doubt that the humans in the concentration camps feared for their lives and rumors were easy to spread and anyone would believe them in that situation.
So even if that doesn't kill you, it would not mean that the people in the camps were liars, because you need to know the truth for wrong information to be actually a lie. And let's say some found out later, what could they do in that situation?
Nazis treated at least one top Rothschild banker very well right immediately after arrest, and even released him for tons of money, so what is for certain is that the Nazis didn't take their "muh joo" propaganda actually serious, just like politicians nowadays only wear masks to fool the sheep.
