Hello QRB fam, from your frens at UK Research. One of our UK anons has been a busy boy. He has found what we believe is a connection with Q’s Black Box pic to Iranian Intelligence. He has located a declassified file relating to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) being involved with weapons and technology procurement and intelligence. The NIOC is located at 4 Victoria Street, London. Can you guess the location of the bus stand at which the BLACK BOX is located? 4 Victoria Street? Good guess, anons.
Understandably, the doc (green sheet) is from 1986. This was during the Iran-Iraq War. Some MPs were expressing concern about activities going on at the NIOC. The US was backing Iran at the time and was concerned that some of its weaponry was showing up in the hands of the Iraqi Army. Operation Staunch was an effort by the US State Dept. to pressure its allies to stop selling arms to Iraq. You may guess who was selling Iraq that weaponry.
Sounds like the services were calling a meeting to get their stories straight before responding to a request from Parliament for a report on these concerns.

Dropping this here first for QRB to dig on if anons wish. We don’t believe this put an end to the NIOC’s activities. Lots of money to be made. Think of the UK intelligence services obfuscating and misleading Parliament.
One can infer that its continued existence (and its activities perhaps?) has been “tolerated”.
