>>8097 /pb Welcome, fren. I think you'll find this is a place where you can continue your good work alongside longtime frens.
>>8037 /pb We were brainstorming characteristics of a new news service ("we are the news"). I want to add this:
the premise behind Facebook and other social media is to give people news that matches and reinforces that they ALREADY BELIEVE. So that design principle is great for brainwashing, but doesn't meet our needs in designing a new kind of news service. For our design, the stories/news should be graded or certified for their truthfulness, timeliness, accuracy, authenticity.... That's the requirement. How to implement the requirement ... I have no idea ... needs further brainstorming. The idea of reporter credibility developed over time, similar to how eBay rates sellers on credibility? (But I don't trust eBay's system too much either.)
The distribution part of the new news system must be decentralized and not subject to a controlling entity. Peer to peer. Like the torrent distribution system.
>>8357 Yeah I posted that. Been following that shipfag for MONTHS now. If anybody wants to go research it, you'll see the correlation. They are sort of a cheerleader/morale entity but when they come on the bread I start watching for Q to post.
