Interestingly, Venter’s companies, Synthetic Genomics (whose research also focuses on synthetic biofuels and animal products, along with Bill Gates) and Synthetic Genomics Vaccines, began working on “next-generation synthetic RNA replicon platforms” to develop vaccines for livestock in 2017. The same year, Synthetic Genomics partnered with Duke Human Vaccine Institute on DARPA’s recently funded Pandemic Prevention Platform (P3), which “aimed at establishing a system capable of halting viral pandemics within 60 days.” An October 26, 2017 press release announced:
The Duke Human Vaccine Institute has received a $12.8 million, 30-month grant from the U.S. Department of Defense, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to develop a system capable of halting viral pandemics within 60 days.
The program, called DARPA Pandemic Prevention Platform (P3), seeks to combine expertise in virology, immunology and clinical manufacturing to rapidly identify and respond to disease outbreaks such as SARS, pandemic influenza and Zika before they spread widely.
As noted by Geall, the Novartis mRNA vaccine “worked” in that it raised neutralizing antibodies after “one injection of 1 mg and all protect mice had HI titers considered protective after two doses.” The study results were thrilling to DARPA, who had just handed its recently funded Moderna Zika program to BARDA. Hepburn stated:
“What you are seeing in the field now is that using a nucleic acid to get the body to do what you want it to do, whether it’s a vaccine or other responses, is really exploding. We find that profoundly exciting.”
Human mRNA Clinical Trial Continues
Fast forward three years to 2020 and the introduction of the COVID-19 pandemic, and, even with all of DARPA’s research and funding, a system was not in place capable of halting a viral pandemic in three months. As we close in on year two of the pandemic, the safety and efficacy of the two mRNA vaccines against COVID-19 continue to wane, and uncertainty about the vaccines persists. Meanwhile, as promising alternative treatments options remain censored by government agencies, funding for mRNA vaccines and mRNA therapeutics continues to take center stage.

Two key vaccine officials are preparing to step down from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which raced to clear Covid shots to fight the pandemic and is now considering President Joe Biden’s booster plan.
Marion Gruber, head of the regulator’s Office of Vaccines Research and Review, plans to retire on Oct. 31 and Philip Krause, deputy director for the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, will be leaving the following month, according to an email to staff that was viewed by Bloomberg.
U.S. health officials have been working to evaluate Covid vaccines and treatments at top speed, with shots from Moderna Inc., Johnson & Johnson and the partnership of Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE cleared in record time. Now the agency is charged with considering the administration’s booster program, which is set to roll out additional shots for most U.S. vaccinated adults Sept. 20.
“We are confident in the expertise and ability of our staff to continue our critical public health work, including evaluating COVID-19 vaccines,” FDA spokesperson Stephanie Caccomo said in a statement.
The search for the next office director will begin imminently, Peter Marks, director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, said in the email to staff. He will serve as acting office director of the Office of Vaccine Research and Review.

As Endpoints News notes, "A former senior FDA leader told Endpoints that they’re departing because they’re frustrated that CDC and their ACIP committee are involved in decisions that they think should be up to the FDA. The former FDAer also said he’s heard they’re upset with CBER director Peter Marks for not insisting that those decisions should be kept inside FDA. What finally did it for them was the White House getting ahead of FDA on booster shots."
The departures mark the latest setback for the federal agency which still lacks a permanent leader.
FDA’s former acting chief scientist Luciana Borio added on Twitter, “FDA is losing two giants who helped bring us many safe and effective vaccines over decades of public service.”
“These two are the leaders for Biologic (vaccine) review in the US. They have a great team, but these two are the true leaders of CBER. A huge global loss if they both leave,” Former BARDA director Rick Bright wrote, weighing in on the news. “Dr. Gruber is much more than the Director. She is a global leader. Visionary mastermind behind global clinical regulatory science for flu, Ebola, Mers, Zika, Sars-cov-2, many others.”
In a letter from Marks to staff, he explained:

Chase Bank does about-face, apologizes for Gen. Flynn credit card cancellation letter, says it 'made an error'
Chase Bank on Tuesday told TheBlaze it has apologized for the credit card cancellation letter that retired Gen. Michael Flynn — former national security adviser under former President Donald Trump — posted on his Telegram social media page Sunday.
Chase's Aug. 20 letter reads, in part, "we decided to close your credit cards on September 18, 2021 because continuing the relationship creates possible reputational risk to our company."
Chase Bank also told TheBlaze that "we made an error" in reference to the cancellation letter.
What's the background?
Flynn on Sunday posted on Telegram the above image of the Chase letter with the addressee text crossed out — as well as a stinging retort directed at the bank:
"Chase Bank has gone full blown woke!" Flynn wrote. "They need to deal with their own reputation instead of persecuting my family and I. [Department of Justice] dropped my case for their own egregious government misconduct, appears you weren't that lucky with the DOJ. I guess my America First political views don't align with yours. Your loss."
Flynn's reference to Chase's "own reputation" presumably is connected with a DOJ press release link he posted next stating that "JPMorgan Chase & Co. Agrees To Pay $920 Million in Connection with Schemes to Defraud Precious Metals and U.S. Treasuries Markets."
On Monday TheBlaze asked Chase to comment on Flynn's implication that the bank canceled his credit cards, and a Chase spokesperson replied, "We are declining to comment." But on Tuesday the bank reversed course and contacted TheBlaze with a statement of apology and admission of error.
'Her'
It's also worth reading the full Tuesday statement to TheBlaze from the Chase spokesperson: "We've contacted our customer to let her know that we made an error and we apologized for any inconvenience this caused."
So if Flynn complained about the credit card cancellation letter, who is the "her" that Chase refers to as the "customer" it contacted with an apology?
Well, Chase would not comment to TheBlaze about that, but there are some clues.
Flynn in his Telegram retort to Chase doesn't say the Chase letter was sent to him personally. He only accuses Chase of "persecuting my family and I."
In addition, the recipient's name and address are blacked out in the image of the letter Flynn posted. All that remains is the surname "Flynn" in the greeting section. But TheBlaze magnified the blacked-out sections and used the iPhone photos app to adjust the contrast and filter out the black — and noticed the letters to the left of "Flynn" don't appear to be part of the names "Mike" or "Michael." However, they may be part of the name "Lori," who is Flynn's wife.
TheBlaze on Tuesday asked Chase if the "her" in its statement refers to Lori Flynn, but the bank has not yet commented on that question.

Republican state lawmakers gave the go-ahead Monday for a former state Supreme Court justice to lead an additional investigation into the 2020 election in Wisconsin.

A GOP-controlled state Assembly committee voted 5-3 along party lines, with Republicans voting in favor and Democrats against, to approve former conservative justice Michael Gableman as special counsel to oversee the election investigation.
Under the authorization, Gableman will be authorized to aid the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections and hire private investigators and other staff for the probe, if necessary. The investigation is authorized to spend up to $680,000 in taxpayer money, according to an Associated Press report, but that figure could be increased in the future. Lawmakers voted on the plan without holding a public hearing.
Earlier this year, Gableman, who left the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2018 after a 10-year term, traveled to Arizona to learn about a controversial election audit there. He also attended an event in South Dakota hosted by MyPillow founder Mike Lindell where a number of refuted claims about voter fraud were aired.
Gableman is a former chair of the Ashland County Republican Party and relied on support from Republicans to win his 2008 state Supreme Court race. During his time on the state’s highest court, Gableman wrote opinions that upheld former Gov. Scott Walker‘s Act 10 collective bargaining law and shut down a semi-secret John Doe investigation involving Walker’s campaign.
Speaking at an event in Madison on Monday morning, Gov. Tony Evers called the election investigation “outrageous.”
“Apparently they’re all drinking the Kool-Aid,” Evers said. “What it tells me is that this is going to be wide-ranging — I think probably $680,000 is a minimum — and they’re going to be coming up with all sorts of things that just frankly aren’t true.”
Evers said the investigation amounts to “a lot of wasted money.”

Early life and education
Michael J. Gableman was born in West Allis, Wisconsin in 1966 and raised in Waukesha County. He is a graduate of New Berlin West High School (1984) and Ripon College (1988), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education and history.[citation needed] He holds a teaching certificate for 7-12 grade history.[citation needed] After college, Gableman taught American history at George Washington High School in the Milwaukee Public School system (1988–1989) before pursuing a legal career. State Department Offers Millions for Information on Chinese Fentanyl Trafficker
An award of up to $5 million is being offered by the U.S. State Department for information on a Chinese fentanyl trafficker.
Zhang Jian, 42, a key leader of a transnational criminal organization that manufactured fentanyl and fentanyl analogues from at least four known labs in China, advertised illicit drugs on the Internet to customers in the United States and Canada, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
The drugs are alleged to have caused the overdose deaths of four individuals in North Carolina, New Jersey, North Dakota, and Oregon in 2014 and 2015, according to a 2017 federal indictment (pdf). During the two years, five individuals in North Carolina and Oregon sustained serious bodily injuries.
Zhang’s organization began to operate in about January 2013, prosecutors said. Since that time, it allegedly sent thousands of orders of fentanyl, fentanyl analogues, and other illicit drugs, as well as pill presses, stamps, or dies used to shape drugs into pills. These items were shipped out through the mail or international parcel delivery services.
Zhang, also known as “Hong Kong Zaron,” was indicted with conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and fentanyl analogues and other related counts in 2017. He faced additional charges including international money laundering conspiracy in a 2018 superseding indictment (pdf).
In April 2018, the U.S. Treasury Department froze Zhang’s U.S. assets and sanctioned his biotechnology company Zaron Bio-Tech (Asia) Limited. The company, which was registered in Hong Kong but operated in China, was allegedly used by Zhang to “facilitate the unlawful importation of fentanyl and other controlled substances into the United States.”

How planning ahead and preparing for what lies ahead is a lesson everyone needs to learn

The most interesting thing about this development is that the bulk of new orders is coming from smaller accounts, showing that it’s ordinary savers and citizens that are driving this trend, rather than professionals, speculators or larger investors.
The Swiss mentality
Given all that we have seen since the pandemic began, all the government excesses and all the economic devastation on a global scale, it is not at all surprising that the average Swiss citizen would turn to physical precious metals to prepare for what lies ahead and to protect their wealth. As opposed to so many of their Western peers, the Swiss tend to look at all these promises and assurances with a very healthy dose of skepticism. They understand well the need to hedge their bets and to take their own measures to protect themselves, their families and their savings. No matter how confident the central planners may sound, direct, personal action and planning ahead is clearly a much more viable strategy than simply trusting the government blindly, waiting and hoping for the best.
Direct democracy: a decisive advantage
Of course, the Swiss also have a unique and invaluable tool at their disposal with which they can carve out their own fates and retain control over their lives and their future, that other Western citizens do not. The Swiss system of subsidiarity and the frequent referendums that take place in the country ensure that the state’s powers remain in check and that the people ultimately have the last word on any and all-important issues.

Former CIA officer turned Q-Anon conspiracy theorist dies of COVID-19 while on anti-vax speaking tour of Florida
Robert David Steele was a former CIA officer who became a big supporter of conspiracy theories
He had become a devotee of QAnon and was in the midst of a tour decrying coronavirus vaccines when he was hospitalized with the virus
He has since died, his friend Mark Tassi announced on Instagram on Sunday
Steele bragged that he was the first person to call the coronavirus a hoax
He had also claimed that child slaves were being sent to Mars, forcing NASA to issue a denial, and said 5G was a weapons system designed to kill humans
Steele was in the midst of his Arise USA! tour across the country to 'awaken the nation in truth', promoting his anti-vaccine message and his conspiracy theories.
But he was hospitalized earlier this month after testing positive for the virus, and his death was confirmed by a friend on Sunday.
In his final blog post on August 17, he wrote: 'I will not take the vaccination, though I did test positive for whatever they're calling 'COVID' today, but the bottom line is that my lungs are not functioning.
'The good news is that I will survive with a few days off. I should be back up and at least functional soon.
'This is been a near death experience, very much like a new death experience the whole country is going through right now.
'We will never be the same because now we know that we've all been lied to about everything.'
Steele's final blog post was published on August 17. His friend announced his death on Sunday
