Suga visits hospital for 'medical checkup'
Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, who stunned the country a day earlier by announcing that he will not seek re-election as the ruling party’s leader, visited a Tokyo hospital for a “medical checkup” Saturday morning, an aide said. “He has been working nonstop until now, so he took advantage [of the lull in his schedule] to have a checkup,” the aide said. “It’s not a thorough medical check-up, but rather a physical examination. There are no problems with his health.”
Suga was due to return to his residence in the afternoon, the aide added. Suga also had a more thorough annual medical check-up on April 24 and took part in a follow-up exam on Aug. 21, according to daily logs of his activities. Ahead of Saturday’s announcement — which effectively means that his term as prime minister will end this month — Suga had rarely taken a day off, meeting with officials, including health ministry bureaucrats in charge of the coronavirus response, at the Prime Minister’s Office on weekends. Suga had worked 154 consecutive days as of last Sunday until finally taking a full day off. Suga, himself, said late last month that his health was good despite being unable to take time off for a summer vacation. In addition to a surge in COVID-19 cases nationwide, the prime minister had been busy with the government’s response to heavy rains and flooding in parts of Japan during the Bon holidays.
Suga’s hospital visit evoked memories of his predecessor, Shinzo Abe, who visited a hospital twice in the span of eight days just over a year ago ahead of his stunning resignation from the prime ministership over his longtime battle with ulcerative colitis, a chronic, inflammatory disease of the large intestine.

Moved back to Andrews
82-8000 USAF 747 on ground at JBA from Philadelphia Int'l after dropping Not AF1 Joe off
Some recent background on this AC
Not AF1 Joe has only ever been on this 747 tail #82-8000 and #92-9000 is still MIA*
Several trips on C-32As (757) and one of those was used for the escort to the G7 meeting in Cornwall and the rest of that production with the queen, NATO and VP and back to DC.
The usual escort AC on trans-continental trips is an identical 747 or VC-25A which is 92-9000 still missing since Nov. 23 2020-last visible arriving at Lackland AFB, San Antonio
*MIA defined as visible via transmission as this AC could have been moved after that date with it's transponder off.
The only visible flights by a 747 have been from #82-8000 The certification and maintenance flights that are visible are also done by #82-8000
and adding to dat...
Last year, shortly after the "election" an RAF pilot was announced and the pilot of those short trips up to Harrisburg or down to Spooktown, VA Newport News Int'l could be Group Captain 'Mandrake' putting in the stick time. They do not release the names of any of the crews for security reasons.

RAF pilot is to become first non-American to fly Air Force One as relations cemented
AN RAF pilot could become the first non-American to fly the President of the United States on Air Force One. The plans represent the "symbolic culmination of a four-decades-old and deep-rooted exchange programme between the USAF and RAF founded on trust", a senior source said last night. Both air forces have been exchanging personnel since 1971 in a move designed to maximise the Special Relatuonship. As it grew, it has led to RAF pilots flying, co-piloting and crewing classified American U2 and B2 Spirit stealth bombers , capable of carrying 16 2,400lb B83 nuclear bombs. Now, an RAF Wing Commander has been earmarked to join the elite cadre of military aviators which fly the US’ Commander-in-Chief and his most senior officials.
There are also converted 757s used by senior members of the cabinet such as the Secretary of State, two smaller converted 737s and seven Gulfstreams. All have been modified to incorporate specialised communications and flight equipment and VIP staterooms. Apart from Air Force One, a presidential visit may involve a 757 to carry journalists and a C-17 Globemaster transport plane tasked with flying the president’s motorcade. The fleet is run by 89th Airlift Wing, based at Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs, Maryland, which employs 80 handpicked pilots and 89 flight attendants. Pilots must have at least 2,500 hours of flight time and be experienced in flying fighter jets or other military aircraft to be considered.
Sources say the officer, who has not been named, will begin his attachment by flying or co-piloting some of the other aircraft in the fleet before being placed on the reserve list for Air Force One. The presidential planes carry two reserve pilots on board at all times, in case the flight crew become incapacitated.
