Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer made headlines on Sunday when he discussed a myriad of hot topics surrounding the Court and what the future might hold.
During an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” Breyer began by saying he is opposed to the Democrats’ idea of packing the Supreme Court.
“I think, well, people understand to some degree why it’s a good idea what Hamilton thought. And he thought the court should be there because there should be somebody – somebody who says when the other two branches of the government have gone outside the confines of this document,” Breyer said.

Hot Mic Catches Israeli Health Minister Admitting Vaccine Passports Are About Coercion
Officials unaware comments were being broadcast live on television.
Unaware that he was on a hot mic and being broadcast live on a TV station, Israeli health minister Nitzan Horowitz admitted that vaccine passports were primarily about coercing skeptical people to get the vaccine.
“Imposing “green pass” rules on certain venues is needed only to pressure members of the public to get vaccinated, and not for medical reasons, Israeli Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz said on Sunday, ahead of the weekly Cabinet meeting,” reports Jewish News Syndicate.
Unaware that his words were being broadcast live to the nation on Channel 12, Horowitz told Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked that not only should the green pass be removed as a requirement to dine at outdoor restaurants, but also, “For swimming pools, too, not just in restaurants.”
“Epidemiologically, it’s true,” said Horowitz, adding, “The thing is, I’m telling you, our problem is people who don’t get vaccinated. We need [to influence] them a bit; otherwise, we won’t get out of this [pandemic situation].”
The health minister went on to acknowledge that the system wasn’t even being enforced in most venues.

Medical Center officials at first refused to acknowledge the nurse was being formally fired, but were to forced to admit it after she did not give in
Video footage from a nurse at the Bowling Green Medical Center in Kentucky shows hospital officials repeatedly refusing to admit that they are firing her for not taking the COVID vaccine, stammering that she “needs to leave,” and then finally conceding that she has been “terminated’ in order to get her to leave the premises.
The footage was posted to TikTok by the account @aleminnicks on September 3, and was captioned, The Medical Center in BG, KY was trying to quietly put over 350 out of a job without resignation or termination for not getting the vaccine. #stopthemandate.” In the video, the nurse is told, “You do not work here anymore, cause everybody’s had this conversation with you in detail, you’ve talked to HR yesterday…”
The employee responds, “I did not quit, and I was not fired.” The supervisor then begins loudly demanding, “You need to leave.” Eventually, after the officials call in multiple people including a security guard to the room, one man who identifies himself as Eddie Mill admits, “You’ve been terminated.”
Despite the claims of Biden regime officials and corporate media outlets that not taking the vaccine is tantamount to rejecting the principles of science, medicine, and compassion all at once, a large percentage of nurses, doctors, and other medical officials have not complied with vaccine mandates.

House Dems propose one of the largest tax increases ever to pay for Biden’s $3.5T spending bill
House Democrats on Monday proposed one of the largest tax increases in U.S. history to pay for President Biden’s $3.5 trillion expansion of the federal safety net.
Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee released an 881-page bill outlining a series of tax hikes and one-time revenue generators they say will ensure Mr. Biden’s big-spending domestic agenda is fully funded.
“Our proposals allow us to both address our perilously changing climate and create new, good jobs, all while strengthening the economy and reinvigorating local communities,” said Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal, Massachusetts Democrat.
As part of the proposal, Democrats are eyeing tax hikes across the board, including on individuals and corporations. The proposal calls for:
— Raising taxes on tobacco products.
— Hiking the corporate tax rate from 21% to 26.5%.
— Increasing the capital gains tax from 20% to 25%.
— Raising the top rate on individuals from 37% to the pre-Trump era high of 39.6%.
— Imposing a wealth tax in the form of a 3% surcharge on individuals with income above $5 million.
— Hiking the minimum tax on foreign income derived by corporations, from 10.5% to 16.6%.
The tax hikes are only one part of the way in which Democrats hope to raise enough money to pay for Mr. Biden’s ambitions. Mr. Neal and his colleagues are also plotting to scrap or limit dozens of deductions.
For instance, Democrats are proposing to cap the special deduction for pass-through entities, including law firms. Lawmakers also want to curb estate-tax exemptions that former President Donald Trump pushed for in his landmark 2017 tax overhaul.
Altogether, the proposal authored by Mr. Neal and his colleagues amounts to one of the largest tax increases in U.S. history.
Critics say the hikes would hobble the economy and contribute to the offshoring of domestic jobs. Many note that the corporate tax rate proposed by House Democrats is higher than that of many foreign competitors, including China.
“Raising the corporate tax rate is Biden’s next big mistake,” said Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform. “A corporate tax hike will decrease wages, increase prices, and hurt American competitiveness.”
Mr. Neal dismissed such concerns, arguing that the social-welfare programs being funded by the tax hikes are desperately needed.
“We seek to help families better afford essentials with the continuation of the expanded Child Tax Credit and investments that will lower the cost of prescriptions and health insurance premiums,” Mr. Neal said. “And we can do all this while responsibly funding our plans.”
The Ways and Means proposal comes as Democrats are working to finalize the $3.5 trillion package.
Democrats are pitching the spending plan to voters as “human infrastructure.” They suggest the package complements the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill that focuses on roads, bridges and airport projects.
The Senate passed the smaller legislation last month. The bigger bill amounts to a wish list of liberal priorities such as proposals for climate change, amnesty for illegal immigrants, tuition-free community college and expanded health care.

Gov. Hochul vows to make New York a ‘haven’ for abortion, calls Texas law ‘grotesque’
Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul said Monday she’s taking steps to make New York state a “haven” for women from Texas and other states that are enacting abortion restrictions.
At a news conference in Central Park in New York City, the state’s first female governor said state agencies will launch a public information campaign to highlight women’s health care rights, including access to an abortion.
“If we’re going to be a haven for people from elsewhere, we need to make sure that our health care providers are also equipped with the guidance they need,” Ms. Hochul said. “I’m also directing the Department of Health to take immediate action to develop and distribute modern and comprehensive provider guidance on their right to abortion care.”
Ms. Hochul also said she’s sending a letter to Facebook executives calling on the social media company to “clean up the act” on what she termed “misinformation” about the state’s abortion law and COVID-19 vaccinations.
The Justice Department has filed a lawsuit against Texas over its new law that bars abortions after six weeks of pregnancy. Ms. Hochul said the law is “grotesquely unfair.”
“I guarantee I did not know I was pregnant with my first child at six weeks,” the governor said. “We have to stop extremists from taking women’s rights away.”
The governor referred to the Statue of Liberty in New York harbor as a symbol of why the state should protect women from all over the nation seeking abortions.
“That [statue] is a strong, powerful woman with her hand up saying if you’ve been oppressed anywhere in this world, you come to our harbor,” Ms. Hochul said. “This is the safe harbor for people suffering from oppression. My friends, that oppression in my judgment is going on right now in the state of Texas, and our harbor is open for people to come here and understand that we will be there to take care of them and protect them.”
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, New York Democrat, called the Texas law “abhorrent” and said other states such as Mississippi are following suit. She urged passage of a proposal in Congress that would codify the Supreme Court’s 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion.
But Ms. Gillibrand said the action in Congress would be “very hard,” and said it’s another reason for filibuster “reform” in the Senate.
“I fully support filibuster reform to pass reproductive freedom in the U.S. Senate,” she said.

North Korea says it successfully test fired long-range cruise missiles
North Korea has claimed it successfully test fired new long-range cruise missiles over the weekend.
The country said in a message sent early Monday local time that test launches of the newly developed missiles struck targets 932 miles away on Saturday and Sunday, according to the Korean Central News Agency.
The Hermit Kingdom hailed the missiles as “strategic weapon(s) of great significance.”
The reported weekend launch was North Korea’s first known testing activity since March.
Nuclear negotiations between the US and North Korea have hit a wall since a 2019 summit between then-President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un.
Talks stalled after the US had rejected North Korea’s demand for major sanctions relief in return to a partial surrender of its nuclear capabilities.
There has been no progress under the Biden administration with North Korea rejecting any chances at a dialogue and demanding the US government first abandon its “hostile” policies.

California once was run by conservatives and mostly centrist Democrats.
True paleo-liberal governors like Pat Brown greatly expanded the welfare state. But they also believed in pushing integration and building freeways, dams, aqueducts and power plants, while preventing forest fires, directing the mentally ill into state hospitals, and ensuring that the state enhanced the housing, timber, oil and gas, nuclear and agricultural industries.
So, why would anyone deliberately destroy that heritage?

Why allow California to have the highest aggregate basket of income, sales, property and capital gains taxes in the nation, the highest gas and power prices in the continental United States, and nearly the worst schools and infrastructure? California also has the country’s largest populations of homeless, welfare recipients and undocumented immigrants
Remember that the left wing of the Democratic Party became hyper-wealthy through globalization and the tech revolution. Coastal universities such as Caltech, Stanford, UC Berkeley, USC, and UCLA became global nexuses of millions who flocked to California to learn business, engineering, science, math and the professions.
University endowments were no longer measured in the hundreds of millions of dollars but in the billions.
Hollywood and professional sports now had a lucrative worldwide audience of billions.
The market capitalization of Silicon Valley was to be measured in the trillions of dollars, as the world bought iPhones, iPads and MacBooks to do Google searches, tweet and use Facebook. The result was the greatest concentration of wealth in such a small space in the history of civilization.
Within 40 years, California had created a new plutocracy of Eloi, whose wealth exempted them from all worries about the mundane problems of the distant and despised Morlock others.
The wealthier the long thin line from San Diego to Berkeley grew, the more the overseers felt they were nearing Utopia, at least in their own lives.
The new Democratic Party liked to redistribute money for the poor and so obeyed the orders from the rich. But they ignored old-fashioned infrastructure that once had allowed the middle class to drive quickly and safely, ensured them water during droughts, curbed their forest fires, and allowed their children to leave school competitively educated.
The current California recall election is a choice between Gavin Newsom, who embodies the woke, old-boy privilege of the Bay Area, and an alternative direction.
Reaction, not prevention, was the new mantra. Govs. Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom failed to thin out forests, build water storage and allow affordable housing.
When those problems exploded, they reacted by citing climate change or some other bogeyman as the culprit rather than government dereliction. They preferred utopian high-speed rail solutions to pragmatic problem-solving. And they ensured that none of their crackpot ideas ever affected themselves.
Why worry about affordable housing and electricity for the masses when all the right people had the means to live in the right ZIP codes without much worry about turning on the air conditioning or heat, since there were rarely any scorching days or frigid nights in coastal paradise?
Why worry about immigration when labor became even cheaper?
Why worry that California public schools had sunk near the bottom of state ranks, when there were more prestigious prep schools than ever on the coast?
And why worry about producing lumber for houses, irrigated crops for food, or oil for gasoline, when the right Californians would always have the money to import their hardwood floors, arugula and fuel from grubby others far away who would make or grow what was needed?
Yet ideas eventually have consequences. Soon, even the left-wing paradise on the coast would be infected by the anarchy the rich had created for less important people elsewhere.
The homeless did not just camp on the streets of Fresno, but in Venice Beach and on Market Street in San Francisco.
Fires began to smoke out not just the brush of the inland foothills, but near-saintly Lake Tahoe, home to the right skiers and the chosen shore owners.
Thieves even smashed the windows of Bay Area BMWs and Volvos.
The current California recall election is a choice between Gavin Newsom, who embodies the woke, old-boy privilege of the Bay Area, and an alternative direction. Newsom is the epitome of the virtue-signaling elite who patronize the poor and drive out the despised middle class.
Gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder did not give us the current California. Indeed, he spent most of his life warning us where Jerry Brown, Gavin Newsom and the rarified society of the coastal corridor was taking the state.
A careening California is heading for a colossal train wreck. Voters will have to pick between the incompetent engineer snoring at the wheel or the private passenger who rushes into cab to get the engine back on track.

San Fernando Valley residents have trouble casting recall ballots
Some San Fernando Valley voters think they are being wrongly prevented from casting a ballot in the upcoming gubernatorial recall election.
At El Camino Real Charter High School in Woodland Hills, some voters say they were told the computers showed them as already having voted, even though they had not.
West Hills resident Estelle Bender, 88, said she was far from the only person who was being told incorrectly that they had already voted.
In addition to friends of hers who experienced the issue and two other women outside the polling place, Bender said that inside, “the man next to me was arguing the same thing.”
Bender said she filled out a provisional ballot and “left really angry.”
Bender added that, to her knowledge, many of those affected by this issue are self-identified Republicans, and she’s suspicious.
“I’d still like to know how I voted,” Bender said.
The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s office said in a statement that provisional ballots are a “failsafe option” to ensure that everyone’s votes are counted.
“Once the eligibility of the voter is verified, [the ballots] are processed and counted,” the statement added.

California Republicans told they ‘already voted’ when showing up to cast recall ballots
Voters in the San Fernando Valley claim they were told they already voted in the gubernatorial recall election even though they had not.
“I went to El Camino High School to vote…and she said ‘you voted.’ I said, ‘No, I haven’t.” And she said ‘this has been happening all morning.'” 88-year-old recall voter Estelle Bender told local media after finding out that someone voted in her name.
Bender said she filled out a provisional ballot and “left really angry.”
“The man next to me was arguing the same thing…So as I left…I saw two women walking toward me as I left, and I said, ‘don’t be surprised if they tell you you’ve already voted,’ and she said ‘they’ve already done that.'” Bender added.
Bender, a Republican, said she asked the two women if they were Republicans, and they told her yes. She says two of her friends, also Republicans, had the same issue happen to them at a separate polling location.
“The voters who experienced this issue were offered and provided a provisional ballot – the failsafe option to ensure no one is turned away from voting,” the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder said in a statement.
“Provisional ballots are regular ballots, and once the eligibility of the voter is verified, they are processed and counted,” the statement added. “After troubleshooting the issue, the equipment at the locations was replaced, and voting continued.”
Bender says she is very suspicious of how the issue which, to her knowledge, only affects Republican voters. “I’d still like to know how I voted,” she concluded.
The election to recall Governor Gavin Newsom is set to take place Tuesday. If 50% or more of voters vote “Yes,” to the recall, then the candidate with the most votes will become the new governor. If 50% or more vote “No,” Newsom will remain in office.
Republican candidate Larry Elder is leading the polls among likely GOP voters.
Nearly 4.1 million registered Democrats have mailed in their ballots, compared with 1.9 million Republicans and 1.8 million independents, the data shows, according to the election tracker from Political Data Inc.
Newsom announced that President Joe Biden would appear at the campaign’s “final rally” in Long Beach Monday evening.
This is the second recall election to occur in California’s history. The first was in 2003 when Governor Grey Davis (D) was removed. Davis was replaced by then-Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger.
