Critique of Facebook-style social media: their "like" system means profiling people then giving them MOAR of whatever they "liked". In other words narrow their world by never presenting information that's "disliked". A perfect system for brainwashing and reinforcing existing beliefs.

I do think an entrepeneur with a small team of software architects and some implementers could design something meeting the requirements, using something decentralized like torrent-style peer-to-peer transport, store+forwarding.
