Nancy Pelosi Calls Federal Agents Nazi “Stormtroopers” after They Are Sent to Portland Following 49 Days of Leftist Rioting and Mass Destruction

For over 40 days leftists, Black Lives Matter and Antifa terrorists have destroyed downtown Portland in nightly rioting and raids.

As reported earlier — Portland has been protesting literally every night since late May. Many of these protests devolve into unlawful assemblies as violent leftists start to throw rocks and other debris at police, and it’s not uncommon for the police to declare these riots.

But mayor Ted Wheeler, governor Kate Brown, and the Portland police command staff seemingly let the rioters take the city, as police are told to stand down and not impede the mob as businesses are destroyed and looted, fires are started in the streets, random bystanders are assaulted, and government buildings are vandalized and set on fire.

However, once the Black Lives Matter mob set their sites on the Hatfield Federal Courthouse, they opened up a new front. After the building was hit with all sorts of graffiti, windows were smashed, and fireworks were shot inside, federal agents and officers then got involved. These are evidently a mixture of Federal Protective Services officers, Customs and Border Protection, US Marshals, and other federal agents.

Since the rioters aren’t dealing with the weak kneed city and county leaders on federal property, US District Attorney Billy Williams is pursuing charges against several of the terrorists, and the feds have been making several arrests over the last week or so.

But after federal agents were sent in to restore law and order and protect federal property the left has lost its mind.

On Saturday Speaker Nancy Pelosi referred to the federal agents as Nazi stormtroopers.

Portland Antifa and BLM Launch Explosives at Federal Building While Barricading Agents Inside

Portland Antifa and Black Lives Matter launched explosives at the Federal Courthouse and Justice Center while attempting to barricade agents inside on the 50th night of riots in the ultra liberal city.

There was also severe violence against random citizens that they disagree with politically during Friday night’s chaos.

The Portland Police tweeted “Officers have observed people in the area of the Federal Courthouse and Justice Center on SW 3rd Ave place fencing and sandbags in front of doors. This is criminal behavior. Participants not involved in criminal behavior are encouraged to leave the area immediately.”

The rioters also deployed smoke bombs and lasers, which they use to impede the vision of police officers.

Around 1:30 a.m. local time, the Portland Police Department tweeted that “participants have 5 minutes to remove all barricades around the facility. Failure to follow this direction may subject you to arrest, citation, or use of force including crowd control munitions. Leave the area to the west. SW Columbia to SW Taylor from SW 1st to 6th is closed.”

Shortly after the 5 minutes were up, law enforcement began shooting massive amounts of tear gas into the crowd to disperse them, according to a livestreamer on the scene. They also tore down the barricades set up by the rioters.

A Twitter user who goes by the name Maria Viti has been diligently archiving important footage from various riot livestreams across the country for months. You can follow the account here for more footage of the shocking violence tearing apart our cities.

To almost no one’s surprise, days before Roger Stone’s prison sentence was about to begin, President Donald Trump has spared his long-time political crony from the pen — late Friday, Mr. Trump commuted Stone’s sentence. It is time for New York prosecutors to answer this latest assault by Trump on the rule of law: They should ready a state prosecution of Stone.

Bringing a new case against Stone is possible thanks to Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York Legislature for Assembly Bill 6653. Signed into law last October, AB6653 enables New York district attorneys to prosecute what effectively amounts to certain friends and family of any president who pardoned them for federal convictions. Among the people who can be prosecuted are associates with information relevant to a civil or criminal investigation of the president.

That would be Roger Stone.

Both of us have been criminal defense lawyers in New York for more than 40 years. It is not our habit to advocate prosecuting anyone. But we are defenders of our Constitution first. It is under assault.

Yes the US Constitution is under assault – it was under assault by the criminal and corrupt Obama Administration for eight years and since then has been under assault by the many corrupt holdovers Obama left in the DOJ and FBI.

The state of New York is now led by corrupt individuals like Governor Cuomo who should be investigated for the murder of thousands of elderly in New York based on his response to the China coronavirus. The US Constitution clearly allows for the President to pardon and commute sentences on individuals. It is the law. 25 million Iranians have ALREADY caught Covid-19 & figure may go way higher – President Rouhani

ran’s coronavirus count stands at roughly 269,000 but the actual number of Covid-positive persons is nearly 90 times higher, President Hassan Rouhani suggested. Critically, millions more are at risk of catching the contagion.

It is estimated that “25 million Iranians have been infected with the coronavirus so far and about 14,000 people have lost their lives,” Rouhani declared, while addressing a national Covid-19 task force, official news agency IRNA reported Saturday.

Rouhani’s estimates mean that in Iran, home to over 80 million, almost every third citizen has tested positive for coronavirus.

Invoking health ministry data, the President said 500 out of 1,000 Covid-19 cases are asymptomatic, which only aggravates the risk of transmitting the deadly disease.

Furthermore, “30 to 35 million people are likely to be exposed to the disease in the coming months,” the president suggested, urging compatriots to follow strict distancing and hygiene rules in order to break the transmission chain.

Rouhani’s gruesome prediction eclipses figures published by authoritative international sources. Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Research Center currently puts the number of Iranian cases at over 269,400 and the number of deaths at over 13,700.

In late-April and mid-May, Iran relaxed some of its lockdown measures, reopening mosques, bazaars, public parks and restaurants. In the weeks that followed, the mortality rate went up, prompting health officials to increase testing and to warn citizens against neglecting distancing rules.

The Islamic Republic was, and still is, the hardest-hit nation in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia and Qatar – who reported 245,851 and 105,898 cases respectively – are trailing behind Iran in a regional rating.

Arson Suspected - Massive Blaze Destroys Parts Of Nantes Cathedral In France

Firefighters, Saturday, have been battling a massive blaze at the cathedral in the French city of Nantes, located on the Loire River in the Upper Brittany region of western France.

BBC News states, the fire, which has already destroyed the Cathedral of Saint Pierre and Saint Paul's stained glass windows and grand organ, is believed to have been deliberately set on fire.

The fire comes a little over a year after a blaze destroyed Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris. Video footage uploaded onto Twitter shows smoke billowing out of the cathedral's arch-shaped window.

‘Extraordinary’ claim that Russia meddled in elections requires proof, UKIP leader says

London has yet to provide proof of Moscow's alleged election meddling, the leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) has noted, as a fresh torrent of unsupported accusations gets hurled at Russia by the British government.

Freddy Vachha said in an interview with Sputnik news agency that he was still waiting to see proof showing Moscow’s alleged hand in last year’s parliamentary elections.

Face Masks Mandated By UK Government Specifically Say They Don't Protect Against COVID-19

The same type of face masks that the UK government is mandating people wear in shops from July 24 onwards to protect against the spread of coronavirus specifically state on their packaging that they don’t protect against coronavirus.

Earlier this week, the government confirmed that anyone caught not wearing a mask when entering a shop or supermarket will be subject to a police fine of £100, prompting the Chair of the London Metropolitan Police Foundation to complain that this would be totally unenforcable.

However, the law states that cloth masks, scarves or other textile items that don’t require the use of hands to hold them in place are acceptable forms of protection against COVID-19.

One problem with that, the packaging on these kind of cloth masks specifically states that they don’t protect against COVID-19.

“This product is an ear loop mask. This product is not a respirator and will not provide any protection against COVID-19 (coronavirus) or any other viruses or contaminants,” states the packaging on a standard set of cloth masks currently being sold.

We note that the European Court of Auditors is becoming increasingly nervous about the European Commission's overblown claims about its programmes.

The auditors specifically looked at agricultural policies and structural funds, and concluded that the proportion of funds earmarked for climate change is almost comically exaggerated. The worst offender is agriculture. The plan had been to reserve half of the €100bn spent on agriculture for climate protection. The Commission counts subsistence payments to farmers as climate spending, so long as the farmers fulfil some nominal climate standards which almost every farmer does.

On spending programmes, the EU uses an old-fashioned rounding trick. The OECD has recommended a simplified category whereby governments count the climate-protection share of their expenditures in steps of 0, 40% or 100%. What the Commission does is to round expenditures up to the next level.

Over the years, we have noted an increasing tendency by the Commission to make dishonest claims about its programmes. This is also why we have become very sceptical about any headlines coming out of Brussels. The headline numbers usually conflate different categories of money, and do not translate into reality.

Oregon attorney general files lawsuit against federal agencies amid reports that officers ‘kidnapped’ Portland protesters

Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum is taking the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other agencies to court, after accusing federal officers of detaining Portland demonstrators without probable cause.

Rosenblum announced on Friday night that the Oregon Department of Justice had filed a lawsuit in federal court against the DHS, US Marshals Service, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Federal Protection Service. The suit claims federal law enforcement agencies have been wrongfully seizing protesters and seeks a temporary restraining order which would prohibit them from using such tactics, local media reported.

“The federal administration has chosen Portland to use their scare tactics to stop our residents from protesting police brutality and from supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. Every American should be repulsed when they see this happening. If this can happen here in Portland, it can happen anywhere,” the state attorney general said.

The lawsuit comes one day after interim DHS chief Chad Wolf met with law enforcement officials in Portland. Tweeting about his visit, Wolf vowed that his agency would “never surrender to violent extremists.”

Officers charged with protecting Portland’s federal courthouse have been accused of using unmarked vans to “kidnap” demonstrators off the streets and then take them in for interrogation. Some protesters claim that they were questioned and then released by federal officers without being charged with a crime. CBP acknowledged on Friday that it had carried out an arrest in which an unmarked vehicle was used to transport the suspect, but claimed that the individual in question was “suspected of assaults against federal agents or destruction of federal property.”

The presence of federal officers has been condemned by several other senior Oregon officials. Governor Kate Brown, Portland Mayor Ted Wheelers, and Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley called for a probe into the methods deployed by federal agents operating in the city. US Attorney for Oregon Billy Williams later announced that he would investigate the matter. He acknowledged, however, that the officers have a mandate to protect federal property, and have been attacked by protesters using “commercial fireworks, laser strikes, glass, mortars” and other projectiles.

UK halts daily Covid-19 death updates over possible ‘distortions’ of daily mortality rate

The British government has put on hold releasing daily updates on the number of coronavirus fatalities, after scientists noticed serious oddities in the way Public Health England counts the overall death toll.

The announcement comes shortly after Health Secretary Matt Hancock told Public Health England to urgently review its methodology of calculating Covid-19 death figures.

“Currently, the daily deaths measure counts all people who have tested positive for coronavirus and since died, with no cut-off between time of testing and date of death,” reads a short message on the UK government’s website.

There have been claims that the lack of cut-off may distort the current daily deaths number. We are therefore pausing the publication of the daily figure while this is resolved.

Concerns over potential critical flaws in how Covid-19 deaths are counted were recently brought to light in a damning article by University of East Anglia professor Yoon K Loke and Carl Heneghan, a professor of evidence-based medicine at Oxford University.

Their study noticed that PHE have been regularly looking for Covid-positive patients on the NHS database, simply checking if they were alive or not. This method did not consider any time that passed since the coronavirus test, nor whether the patient had recovered in the hospital and was "discharged to the community."

After this, any person who has tested positive but was successfully treated and sent back home, "will still be counted as a Covid death, even if they had a heart attack or were run over by a bus three months later."

The statistical anomaly could explain why England's death toll was considerably higher than those of its neighbors. Currently, UK government figures put the number of "Covid-associated deaths" in England at 40,640 – the lion's share of the 45,233 fatalities recorded across Britain.

Portland Riot Organizer Claims Mission is the ‘Abolition of the United States As We Know It’

A Portland riot organizer gained massive applause after saying that their mission is the “abolition of the United States as we know it” and referred to our nation as “stolen land.”

Lilth Sinclair could barely contain her excitement at the cheers when she announced herself as an “Afro indigenous non-binary” protest organizer on Friday.

During her speech, she said that she is working towards “not just the abolition of the police state, but also the United States as we know it.”

She went on to claim they were standing on “stolen land,” which of course is not the case. The land was conquered and purchased.

Following her speech, rioters violently attempted to barricade federal officers inside the Portland Federal Courthouse and Justice Center while launching explosives at the building. They also allegedly tied a man to a fence and beat him and held a street preacher at gun point before brutalizing him and physically removing him from their protest, according to a witness at the scene who spoke to livestreamers.

Liberals and some of the more media-focused organizers have repeatedly claimed that the Black Lives Matter riot’s goal is simply to end police brutality, while most of us knew that wasn’t these Marxists only agenda. This woman just let the mask slip on what those of us paying attention already knew.

There has now been 50 straight nights of rioting in Portland.

BoJo concedes that UK public might not be able to visit family at Christmas

t’s quite a feat to be dubbed a grinch in July, but that’s the prospect facing Boris Johnson after the UK prime minister declined to assure the British public that they will be able to visit their families at Christmas.

During a press conference on Friday, Johnson discussed plans for a “significant return to normality” in England following the coronavirus pandemic, explaining that it’s hoped that the process will be largely complete by the end of the year.

“It is my strong and sincere hope that we will be able to review the outstanding restrictions and allow a more significant return to normality from November, at the earliest, possibly in time for Christmas,” the British leader explained.

But when pressed as to whether people would be able to be with their families this Christmas, the UK prime minister stressed that the plan was conditional on success in suppressing infection rates and opted not to give any firm commitments. He instead said that the government’s plan is to “hope for the best, but plan for the worst.”

Johnson used the press conference to announce that people may now use public transport, and he revealed plans for a further reopening of the economy, which will get underway in August.

The UK was the European country worst hit by Covid-19, racking up nearly 300,000 confirmed cases and 45,000 deaths from the disease. However, Health Secretary Matt Hancock has ordered an “urgent review” into how death figures from England are calculated after scientists found they may have been inflated.

European Court Forces Hungary to Recognise Foreign Transgender People

The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has ruled that Hungary must recognise the gender of an Iranian refugee who fled the country over their transgender identity.

The five-year-long case involved an Iranian national who claimed asylum in Hungary in 2015 who was born a woman but wished to be recognised as a man.

They wished to have their name and gender changes on official documents, as their Iranian documents identified them as a female. Hungary refused, claiming that a Hungarian birth certificate was needed to make the changes, Bild reports.

The ECtHR has ruled in favour of the Iranian transman, alleging that Hungary violated their rights and forcing Hungary to pay €6,500 (£5,900/$7,400) in damages as well as court costs.

According to the newspaper, LGBT activists hope the ruling will impact recently passed legislation by the government of Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán that recognises only two biological genders and defines gender as “biological sex based on primary sex characteristics and chromosomes”.

The legislation, which was passed in May, was met with severe opposition from left-wing activist groups. Human Rights Watch claimed the Orban government was “using the Covid-19 health crisis as cover to push through discriminatory legislation that will be devastating to the lives of transgender people”.

Several other groups, many of which have been funded by left-liberal billionaire George Soros, also slammed the move, claiming the law “pushes Hungary back towards the dark ages”.

The Orbán administration has rejected gender ideology for several years. In 2018, it revoked government funding for gender studies courses, claiming that there were concerns such degrees would not lead to employment opportunities for those graduating from them.

Central European University (CEU), one of the institutions affected by the move, slammed the government decision, claiming “Gender Studies is an internationally recognised academic field, which produces socially relevant knowledge, and which has been taught at CEU for well over two decades.”

Rand Paul: ‘Obamacare Is Still with Us Because of Republicans’

During an interview on Huntsville, AL radio’s WVNN, now-Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) discussed Obamacare and his frustration that a decade later, the law as it was passed remains on the books.

“I guess I’m still frustrated,” Paul said. “I thought that was what we believed in. You know, the Republicans promised us — ‘Give us the House. Oh, the House is not enough. Give us the Senate. Oh, that’s not enough. Give us the presidency, and we’ll repeal Obamacare.’ I mean, Republicans campaigned throughout the country — everybody up and down the slate everywhere campaigned on repeal.”

“And people ought to be hopping mad that the same people said they would vote for repeal, then changed their vote,” he continued. “I mean, Obamacare is still with us because of Republicans. The reason it is still with us is because, yes, we still need more Republicans who actually have the courage to stand up and vote against big government, whether it is in medicine, or whether it is big government spending, frankly during this pandemic.”

During the interview, Paul promoted the U.S. Senate candidacy of Nashville orthopedic trauma surgeon Manny Sethi, who faces Trump-endorsed former U.S. Ambassador to Japan Bill Hagerty in the Tennesee Republican primary on August 6. He argued Sethi would be an ally of the cause to repeal Obamacare.

“We do need Republicans of principle, and I think Dr. Sethi is that. Whether or not we can repeal Obamacare, I’m still fighting for it.”

Ady Barkan: The leaders of the movement for Black Lives believe that we have been trying to reform police departments for many decades and it is not working. Instead, they believe that the solution is to reduce the number of interactions that civilians have with the police. We can reduce the responsibilities assigned to the police and redirect some of the funding for police into social services, mental health counseling and affordable housing. So, for example, instead of sending two police officers with deadly weapons to that Wendy’s drive-through in Atlanta, we could have sent a wellness counselor and a tow truck and then Rayshard Brooks would still be alive today and his 3 daughters would still have their daddy. Are you open to that kind of reform?…

Houthi rebels accuse UN envoy of prolonging Yemen war

Yemen’s Houthi rebel group on Saturday accused UN envoy Martin Griffiths of prolonging the conflict in war-torn Yemen, reports Anadolu Agency.

From his recent speech, it has become clear that the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths has broken away from neutrality and fairness that his mission requires. Griffiths became involved with the forces of aggression against Yemen, adopting their position completely,

rebel spokesperson Mohamed Abdel Salam tweeted, in reference to the Saudi-led coalition.

There was no comment from the UN envoy on the rebel accusations.

Previously, Griffiths stressed that he and his office are working diligently and impartially in order to reach a peaceful political solution to end the crisis in Yemen.

In December, Yemeni government representatives and Houthi rebel leaders held a round of UN-brokered talks in Stockholm which yielded a ceasefire agreement in the Red Sea port city of Hudaydah.

The relationship between the Houthis and the UN envoy is tense as they refused to meet him in the Omani capital Muscat earlier this month after he held a series of talks in the Saudi capital Riyadh, which included Yemeni officials and others from the kingdom.

The Great Reset Fraud

Like everyone, I would love to live in a pollution-free world.

I would love to see human civilization strike a balance with nature and at the risk of sounding like a naïve idealist, I sincerely do believe that this is ultimately our destiny as a species.

My personal experience has led me to the conclusion that we have only failed to achieve this paradigm as a species due to the system (and cultural influence) of oligarchism which has managed to stubbornly sink its claws parasitically onto its host for a few too many generations- corrupting and perverting everything that it dominates.

Due to the pervasiveness of oligarchism, mass exploitation, wars and pollution have lain waste to ecosystems and countless human lives alike, and as the neo-liberal order continues to careen towards the inevitable breakdown of a 2 quadrillion dollar derivatives bubble which our un-repentant decades of decadence has caused, very serious choices will need to be made.

False Remedies to the Oncoming Meltdown

Many false solutions will be presented as society wakes up to the burning building it is trapped in, and unless our minds have become aware of those false solutions, (not to mention those arsonists managing this fire from the top), then many well-intentioned souls from all walks of life may sign onto their own death warrants and accidentally usher in a solution far worse than the disease they sought to remedy.

Before you, dear reader, accuse me of being overly dramatic in my claims, let me bring your attention to a June 3rd event sponsored by the World Economic Forum (WEF) entitled The Great Reset featuring impassioned calls by leaders of the IMF, World Bank, UK, USA, corporate and banking sector to take advantage of COVID-19 to shut down and “reset” the world economy under a new operating system entitled the Green New Deal.

WEF founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab said “the world must act jointly and swiftly to revamp all aspects of our societies and economies, from education to social contracts and working conditions… Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed. In short, we need a ‘Great Reset’ of capitalism.”

Schwab’s message was amplified by Prince Charles who gushed over the this golden opportunity to radically modify human behaviour in ways that decades of environmentalism have failed to accomplish when he said: “We have a golden opportunity to seize something good from this [COVID-19] crisis. Its unprecedented shockwaves may well make people more receptive to big visions of change,”

UN Secretary General initiates New Global Deal for fairer world order

"The COVID-19 pandemic has brought home the tragic disconnect between self-interest and the common interest; and the huge gaps in governance structures and ethical frameworks," he said.

"To close these gaps, and to make the New Social Contract possible, we need a New Global Deal to ensure that power, wealth and opportunities are shared more broadly and fairly at the international level," Guterres stressed.

Fresh round of protests against Netanyahu and COVID policies set for Sat. night

Jerusalem, Tel Aviv demonstrations to take place against backdrop of new restrictions, government plans for weekend lockdowns; police warn they will not allow lawlessness

Israelis exasperated by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as his government’s response to the pandemic are slated to hold another round of mass rallies on Saturday evening, both outside the premier’s official residence in Jerusalem and in Tel Aviv.

The organizers of the Jerusalem protest said they are gathering due to the “government’s failure to manage the crisis.” It is expected to be attended by many of the young activists who have been frequenting the anti-Netanyahu rallies in recent weeks, joining a generally older crowd of demonstrators who have for years been calling for the premier’s ouster due to the corruption allegations he faces.

Meanwhile for the second weekend in a row, thousands of Israelis are expected to gather in Tel Aviv for a protest against the Netanyahu government, but unlike the one in Jerusalem, the coastal city demonstration will be more focused on the economic response to the pandemic.

In a statement from junior Jerusalem activists carried by Channel 12, organizers described themselves as “the young men and women you have not seen on the streets before. But we’ve had enough of remaining silent in the face of the bone-headedness, detachment, corruption and incompetence of this evil government.

“They have destroyed our livelihood, but we are not prepared to let them destroy our future and our hope as well,” the young organizers added.

Supreme Court agrees to expedite order on Trump's tax returns

The Supreme Court on Friday granted the Manhattan district attorney's request to expedite its recent decision rejecting President Trump's claims of absolute immunity from a subpoena for eight years of tax returns.

Chief Justice John Roberts ordered the decision to go into effect immediately. The president's legal team did not oppose the move.

The order will allow the remaining proceedings at the district court level to advance more swiftly. It normally takes nearly a month for the Supreme Court's decisions to go into effect.

The court ruled 7-2 last week that the president does not have absolute immunity in state criminal investigations like the one that led to a grand jury subpoena for Trump's financial records. But the justices said in their decision that the president can still challenge the subpoena on other grounds.

Trump's lawyers made clear this week that they intend to do just that, as the local prosecutors accused the president of trying to force a delay.

"What the president’s lawyers are seeking here is delay," Carey Dunne, a lawyer with the district attorney's office, said during a Thursday court hearing. "I think that’s the entire strategy. Every day that goes by, the president wins the type of absolute temporary immunity he’s been seeking in this case, even though he’s lost on that claim before every court that’s heard it, including now the Supreme Court."

The president's legal team has until July 27 to raise their new legal challenges to the subpoena.

Russia And China Out To Undermine US Election, Says Biden

Russia and China are trying to undermine US democracy in the run-up to November's presidential election, Joe Biden said, citing intelligence briefings he is now receiving.

"The Russians are still engaged in trying to delegitimize our electoral process. Fact," the presumptive Democratic challenger said at a fundraiser on Friday according to the Washington Post.

"China and others are engaged as well in activities that are designed for us to lose confidence in the outcome," he added.

It is normal for presidential nominees of the major parties to have intelligence briefings, though it is not clear when Biden started to receive his.

On June 30 he said he may ask for a briefing, but that he had not been offered one up until then.

Security officials warned at the end of last year foreign adversaries would attempt to interfere in the 2020 elections, to "undermine our democratic institutions, influence public sentiment and affect government policies."

US intelligence found that Russia intervened in the 2016 elections to support Donald Trump, who has bristled at the charges and called for better ties with Putin.

Are Chinese communists using forced abortion, sterilization to wipe out minority population?

The Chinese Communist Party’s new policy for the Uyghur people is genocide, albeit in slow motion

As the only Western eyewitness to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) brutal one-child policy, I applauded when it finally ended in 2016.

But what the CCP is now doing to slash birth rates among its Uyghur and Kazakh minority in China’s Far West is arguably worse. While it involves the same horrific practices of forced abortion and sterilization that I first documented in 1980—practices that the Nuremberg Tribunal declared to be crimes against humanity—there is one stark difference: It is only being imposed on ethnic minorities, namely the Turkish speaking Uyghurs of the region known as Xinjiang.

That’s right. For the past few years, while Communist China’s leaders have been encouraging Han Chinese women to have more children, they have been ordering Uyghur women to have fewer. Hundreds of thousands of Uyghur women have been forced to have abortions, undergo sterilization, or wear IUDs to reduce the Uyghur birth rate. Those who resist are sentenced to concentration camps, where they are sterilized anyway.

The CCP’s new policy is genocide, albeit in slow motion. The Party is not killing off the Uyghur people in quick-time by, say, herding them into gas chambers. But by eliminating the majority of the next generation they will achieve the same end over time—a greatly reduced number of this ancient people, who will then be more easily dispersed and assimilated.

Until recently, we had only anecdotal accounts of this new population control campaign. An Uyghur woman named Mihrigul Tursun testified in 2018 that she and other women in a Chinese concentration camp were chemically sterilized by injection. Another former inmate, Rakhima Senbay, reported having an intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD) involuntarily inserted (Washington Post, October 5, 2019). A third, Zumrat Dawut, had to pay a hefty fine and undergo sterilization after having a third child (Washington Post, November 17, 2019).

What we didn’t know, with any certainty, was how widespread the campaign was, and the extent to which it was driven by the central government. Thanks to a just-published investigation by researcher Adrian Zenz, we now have the answers to such questions.
