Why are the deaths per day/3 day avgs/7 day avgs appear to be 'cycling'

3 and 7 day averages are based on the date pronounced dead.
Doesn't seem very plausible to me.
they may be reported - but the day of report does not represent nor reflect the date of death - which is what the … wait for it … deaths per day … tracks.
More clearly, deaths per day is not deaths per day reported.
That, and if I read it correctly, are the 'high water mark' days at the top of the curve - do they happen to be preceding the reports-due date and/or also have an unusual amount of 'died with' but clearly not 'died of' reports.
