At what point does this mayor get arrested? At what point do the cops stand down on their protection of her?
I don't think people are fine with it. But what are we going to do? Until someone at the top calls it out for what it is, our voices will be completely ignored. Hell, I've given up that fight. It's pointless. People are scared shitless they're going to die of it. Not everyone, but the majority.
