Regarding LB and Ike as anything but facilitating the DS:

Hard to view Ike as any kind of hero with his too late warning- remember, he had both Dulles brothers in his administration. Think he could of been the one, war hero and all, to stop it. Not with having those two on board. At least Truman said he regretted the CIA. Both failed and apologies for creating and abetting the beast sound more like legacy enhancements.
