I was struck by the 10 millionth post being an embed of Beethoven's 9th. Unless you're a musician, you may not know that the last movement of that is a choral rendition of Schiller's Ode to Joy.

Most western Christians are familiar with Van Dyke's church hymn, "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee." That uses Beethoven's music. But that poem is radically different than Schiller's. I've attached a PDF file page that has the lyrics to both.

Schiller's falls in line more with Q's philosophy of enlightenment.

Van Dyke's is more evangelical Christian by far.

Just so anons know. I don't see Q as being necessarily on the same page as evangelicals. We are largely after the same things, but there are some divergences. Christians do believe in revelatory communication from God.
