I worked as a machinist and it was always immensely satisfying to manually (ink and scribe) lay out a sheet metal cut on the flat to fit a complex curve and have it fit the first time. Later, I gained a new appreciation when, as a die-maker, I had to make both halves of the die to cut and form sheet metal "on the fly". The amount of skill and math in this photo is difficult to grasp. Computerized mills can get you most of the way … but the rest of the way is skilled hand work that leaves the die-makers hot, sweaty, covered in grit and blues as Papa Smurf.

But when you roll the press over and lift perfection out, it's a very big pat on the back that you give yourself.

Both it and the brown truck park immediately in front of the delivery address. In that neighborhood, there should be surveillance videos.
